Hey all, trying to get google workspace for eduction set up for one of my schools. We have a few class sets of chromebooks already here and ive enrolled them on the domain and licensed etc. but google havent approved us for worksapce for education fundamentlals yet. I put in the upgrade request back in May but still waiting for it to go ahead and their support will not let me know whats going on with it and apprently you cant speak to the education support people at all. Anyone have any ideas how long this is supposed to take or who to talk to about it? thanks!

You could Enable verbose status messages on login and see if getting stuck on a group policy.

Hey, Im not sure if this is the way of doing it properly but the only way ive been able to get it to send via FMS is to give the user account setup to send from the Exchange Administrator role in office 365 and it sends fine... I have a feeling it may be something to do with the spam filter but I havent sat down to look into it further.

hey all, forgive me if its the wrong forum but im in need of some help. Been trying to configure FMS to email BACS remittance here we use office365. I can get it to send emails to myself but not to anyone else. I have admin permission in office 365 so I imagine its a permission somewhere but im not sure what. Does anyone know what permissions a user needs to be able to recieve these emails? (edit for clarity) So if I have myself as the sender and the recipient it works. If I have myself and any other address as the recipient it doesnt work. Ive setup a specific email for this task and tried it with global admin permission and this is working the same way. thanks

Full on MFDs for RISO now by the looks of it. I have some vague experiance of an older machine of theres that worked like you described but they do proper printers now. Very quick as well.

Hey all, going through looking at new copier contracts at the moment and I could do with some insight. We have come down to 3 quotes within about 1000 pounds per year of each other. One for RISO machines one for Sharp machines and the last for Kyocera machines. Now we have had Kyocera machines before and maybe we got a bad batch but they havent done very well for us. The other two brands I have no experiance of so was wondering if you could pass on yours. I know the RISO machines lease is more expensive but we are still saving on our current provider. Any thoughts or experiances? thank you

Hey all, im being asked about getting some Kindles for school. I was wondering if any you have any experiance on how to do it? I was told by someone we can assign them all to one account and purchase a book and it will go to all of the associated kindles. That doesnt seem legit to me and a google shows me we should only be able to assign 6 to one account? Any advice? thank you

Yeah the quality of error tooltips never seems to improve.

Got it working. A collegue of mine had deleted a user that shouldnt of been but has now been restored.

Hey All, getting a weird error across out google classrooms at school a really detailed one "There was an error. Please try again." when we try and assign work to the children. Seems to be on any class and any teacher in there. Anyone had this before? " I seem to get a similar error when attaching work from drive as well "There was an error while creating the file. Please try again." Any experiance? thanks all

Hello all, forgive me if this is the wrong forum but I couldn't see anywhere better to put it. Our assessment monitor is School pupil tracker online, which will no longer be around at the end of this year. I need to have a look around at something to replace it. I was hoping you lovely people would be give me some recommendations for this type of software? spto has its issues but I've got used to them now so anything new seems a bit scary. i can see this could be a good opportunity to get something better though. We are a primary school if that helps. thanks in advance!

I did this the other day for a few hundred users. Just removed them from G suite and re created them with that box to not force the user to change their password unticked. doesnt take long to re sync the affected users once you get them out of Gsuite.

Hello all, I have the task of rebuilding the domain I have inherited at the school im now in. The amount of mess AD and Group policy is in I think this is the best cousrse of action as we are having new servers in as well and is a good time to do it. I was wondering if anyone had some best practises or resources for correctly configuring the necessary GPOs to restrict the teacher and student machines. Or am I best just to go through and read everything and decide if I need it. Any help or advise would be great. Ive setup new domains before but for much smaller sites and never at a school. Hey all, Odd question. We had out old print server finally give up so we have setup a new one alongside new printers etc. However the old printers are still showing and being deployed although offline by group policy they were deployed via the print managment console in group policy but this is now inaccessable. Do you know of a way I can remove these from being deployed via GPO as it causing confusion for people. I can remove them from users machines but once they log back in it appears again. thanks for the help!

Hello all, happy friday! I was wondering about office 365 education licensing. Currently all our staff are on office 365 education plus and some have figured out that can install office using their accounts. If they used this on a home pc thats ok? as the license is still ours and can be deactivated when they leave etc.

Just showing an application hang. Weirdly if you cause windows to show the application is unresponsive would you like to recover it message it recovers and works fine for the rest of the session.

Hello all, over the past week weve been having some problems with SIMS when users try to open registers SIMS crashes, trying to run reports is the same thing and some users cant even open the application without it crashing. Strange that its only been happening since last thursday but I cant seem to figure out whats wrong with it. Server resources are fine and its been rebooted. Ive done fresh installs on clients and still have the same issues. Any of you experianced anything similar to this?

I will have to double check the certificates." Sounds very similar to what I did on my apprenticeship then. I did A+ and N+ and the MTA on top of that and feel like it gave me a decent knowledge of things but passing the exams was nothing compared to what ive learned by doing the job.

I did the comptia A+ and N+ and Microsoft MTA im now going through doing my MCSA as thats then another two exams for the MCSE then. What certs did you get on your apprenticeship?

Hi guys and girls, ive been told that currently out early years teachers gather evidence in powerpoints and print everything out at the end of the year... I know. This seems to me like a horrible way to keep hold of evidence. I know froma few friends that some nurserys use software that syncs to parents phones and tablets that could be worth looking into. Would save us loads of printing. I was just wondering if any of you had any experiance with this type of software or can pass on and recomendations? thanks for the help!
