  1. We currently have several staff using the teacher app on laptops and mobile devices. However, it offers so many features that I’m told it does not format very well on a phone sized screen. Our PE department would love to use it on a phone when they are offsite in order to quickly access emergency phone numbers etc but apparently it is virtually unusable because of the formatting. Is there any way within the app that you can choose what options to display, or maybe Capita could develop a ‘lite’ version for use on phones where only emergency contact details are displayed? We have discussed the possibility of them taking their phone and a tablet to events but it is not really practical. To get around this problem, we are also paying for Bromcom teacher Web folder which works perfectly on the phone but we would rather not pay for both!
  2. We had the issue with YouTube in IE 11 for some time. The message just said we need to install flash. Flash was installed so we assumed it was another issue with IE. Turned out that it was because our version of flash was out of date! Updated to latest version and YouTube works fine in IE. it's a pity the message didn't actually say that in the first place!
  3. So the new version of successmaker has been released? I filled in a form on the Pearson website requesting information when the new version was released. That was several months ago and I have not heard anything. I was assuming therefore that it had not been released. Typical Pearson reliability and inefficiency. I will contact them.
  4. Great. I'm in the middle of setting it up so look forward to trying it. Thanks.
  5. Thank you. And extremely useful guide. I might be missing something, but it would seem that this can only be used if the recipient has a Microsoft account. Is that correct?
  6. Reading this in the iPhone app. Is there a special way to vote that I can't see or do we just state it in a reply?
  7. First attempt, on my Mobile, sitting in the car with the radio on! Quite pleased with that! I'm a musician too!
  8. Hi Livelee. I've not had too much success with AC2 but I'm pretty sure you cant use the old spreadsheet of keys. They need to be converted back to the VPP deployment method by contacting Apple. However, the number it tells you to call is in the US! Very helpful. I need to do this but haven't yet worked out who to call in UK.
  9. No help I'm afraid, but, over the years I have never managed to get the gallery to install on to the local computer hard drive as part of an MS I install. Pointing to a network share is no good for us, because staff want to use the gallery at home. I would love to know how to do this.
  10. Good to know the school is doing well. It was my primary school late 60s/early 70s!
  11. Have built a Windows 7 Enterprise PC this morning. It did not install the updates as part of the build.
  12. Just checked. We have update 166 installed. Cant remember how to check the postgres version. Will find out and get back to you.
  13. If I get the chance, I'll give it a try.
  14. Interesting. We always use pro templates too. I wonder what would happen if I try using enterprise? I might give that a go tomorrow
  15. Is that the same build template that wasn't installing updates as part of the build, or were your technicians using a different build template?
  16. I don't know. I'll have to check.
  17. Apparently, the postgres update is not just for CC4.5. We received the update as part of our upgrade to CC4.5, not because of it.
  18. We have just been upgraded to CC4.5. We noticed this problem after our first build. The RM guy was still on site and contacted his third line. Apparently, the problem is a known issue with the latest version of the Postgres database. RM are working on a fix.
  19. Sounds like a great idea! Thanks. I hadn't realised you could do that. Will look in to how's that done on Monday.
  20. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum. I looked at the categories and this one seemed the most appropriate. Please move if necessary. We moved to Office 365 a while ago, using a new email domain. Our old domain is still in use on our Frog server, which is due to be turned off soon. We can still send and receive emails using our old domain on Frog, although by now, most users get nothing important on it. Office 365 is now used for our email. I have just been told, that for the foreseeable future, we need to be able to continue sending/receiving email on our old domain for a small number of important users. Our Frog hardware warranty has expired and we won't be renewing our Frog support contract when it expires soon. We host the Frog server onsite and been told it will continue to function, but we will have no support if it goes wrong. Understandable. While I could just leave things as they are, I feel rather nervous having no support at all on the frog platform. It's not windows based and I have no knowledge to fix it if there was a problem. I'm thinking I have 2 options (apart from leaving things as they are and hoping nothing goes wrong) - transfer our email domain to a third party email hosting company (eg. Rackspace) or host an email server ourselves on a Windows server. My instinct is to use a third party company to host our old email domain. Any suggestions welcome. Hosting it ourselves may be cheaper, but I have no experience of hosting/supporting an email server hosted locally. Any advice/suggestions most welcome.
  21. Hi, Sorry, just seen the updates to this thread. For me, Once the IQ folder was copied to the root of the C drive, and suitable read/write permissions given, users were able to print. We have an RM network so users wouldn't normally have read/write access to a folder in that location but it may be different for you. I was not aware that the location of the IQ folder could be changed. If I havd know, I would have changed it! Andy
  22. I think yammer is already disabled, though I will check. Thinking about some of the comments has brought to light the fact that I think we might have to create policies for staff and students for each school. If we only make a 2 way split now - staff/students, then further down the line, as each school wants different things, it will be much more effort to create school based policies.
  23. The email address i used is hosted on office 365. There is nothing in the junk mail folder. I'll try again tomorrow! Such a hassle. and the two-step authentication just makes it even more infuriating!
  24. Since I only get the option to create a new admin, I assume they are program facilitators? The email address I entered is brand-new not been used with Apple before. However, it has not received any email as yet from Apple.
