Mr_Jiminy Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Spied the refreshed Azure portal when logged into one our tenants this morning, circa 6am, the likelihood it's related to those changes. Edited December 3, 2015 by Mr_Jiminy
Michael Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I'm currently trying to use a VPN to make my iPad appear as thought it's in the US so i can log in and check this but all the blocks i've putting on my firewall are blocking it... Even if your VPN work, it will still fail (logically) as all O365 data/accounts in Europe is hosted in Northern Ireland under the Data Protection Act. The US O365 server would in theory forward the request to the Europe server, which is still down of course!
Steve21 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 haha Someone on another forum said it's fine, there's 365.25 days a year so still a few hours before you lose the 5 Steve 1

Performance is seriously bad, but I'm not sure if it's the service or the shady.

CHiLL Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Office 365 appears to be down across Europe: Microsoft Office 365 hit by major outage across Europe - IT News from V3.co.uk We have noticed though that emails are working for those using the Outlook client (which for us is us ICT Techies and the admin/office staff...all other staff and students use the portal). localzuk Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 According to Twitter, this is an issue with Azure Active Directory that is affecting multiple services including the portal.office.com, portal.azure.com and manage.windowsazure.com sites.
Steve21 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 From DownDetector: "This from Computing: Engineering teams are actively investigating the root cause of the issue and are developing a mitigation strategy. A list of services reporting impact will be provided shortly. An update will be provided in 60 minutes, or as events warrant In other words, this "partial service disruption" lies within Azure, which runs Office 365's login facilities." Yep bad config change "Engineering teams have identified an Azure Active Directory configuration error that is believed to be the root cause of the issue" Steve 1
Marshall_IT Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 oh yeah, it must be all these calls asking if emails are down even though it states that it is on our homepage!
FN-GM Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 If it Azure why does Skype for Business and Full Outlook work? Thanks

Its sucking in the US, I'm trying to login and its bust here and our global setup is based in one of the America DCs even going via the US office for stuff I still cannot get into it yet so its not great anywhere it seems...
Michael Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Loving the outage map Office 365 down? Current problems and outages | Down Detector Yeah I'm right in the middle of that blob. Maybe it's my computer!? Sorry chaps! 1

The Azure part is Global issue apparently, just mainly seems to hit EU most. However that logic works... Steve
dezt Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Just found this link about Azure. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/status/#current 3

I wonder if it's anything to do with replication? I guess like our in-house Active Directory setups, an instant change or bad configuration would replicate across the whole global Azure Active Directory? I guess there would be a slight time delay, however it could cause serious problems if this is the case. It's like deleting the Enterprise Admin Group, or similar that would (in theory), create problems like this.
mthomas08 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 It's a good thing we are not cloud based Currently using this with our Students but because it's locally installed there is no issue. I like having a plan B
mikkydoos Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Anyone back up and running? I can't even get the login page. Can you guys?
Steve21 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nothing is properly working anywhere They're still "undoing their doing" Steve
mikkydoos Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Aparently its down across the whole of Europe
Oaktech Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Anyone back up and running? I can't even get the login page. Can you guys? Not now... there was about a 10 minute windows where I could get the login page every time I f5'd but that has stopped now. I can access things by pretending I'm in California, but it's verrrrry slow.
gshaw Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/status/#current Looks like the Azure AD errors in DirSync were the sign of things to come... 1
witch Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 It's all gone pear-shaped. We use "sites" on Office 365 for our cover teachers - and now they can't get on it
