Started season 2 of Narcos on Netflix. Drama, suspense, action, political intrigue, it's got the lot. Me gusta mucho.

Didn't know it was released. Thanks for the heads up.

The Following (on Prime)

Trailer probably NSFW

Loving this show. Ok there's some hammy acting and clunky dialogue but the idea is great and not knowing who is on what side keeps things interesting. Highly recommend it.

First series is great. Get much much worse with each season though.

Finally watched the first episode of "Crazy Ex-Girfriend". Had made many starts into this as, while I loved fellow comedy-musical Galavant, the songs featured in the CXG trailers were what I think of as in the shrill "Broadway" style (not my thing) and the first numbers in this matched up to my expectations. I enjoyed the comedy part much more (somewhat deranged woman ditches her successful life in New York to move to California in pursuit of "the one that got away") and the fact that the star isn't an identikit "Hot American Babe" but felt it might have been better as the originally planned 1/2 hour show (possibly without the songs) and was about to write it off when "The Sexy Getting Ready Song" came on.

It's very NSFW:

[Mod note: Link removed as app still resolves it]

The coda featuring the rapper apologising to various ladies is also NSFW (mainly in the excerpt from the song):

Also watching Lemony Snicket, family enjoying it very much.

I have started The OA I'm up to episode 2 and really not sure about this so far. If anybody else has seen it what do you think? Should I persevere?

Watched S1 finale of The Following last night. Thought it was great right until the end, I feared that I knew what was going to happen in S2 and groaned when the Internet confirmed my fears. Kinda ruined it for me now :(

Yeah, unfortunately, after a great first season the rest of the show disappears up it's own behind pretty quickly. Dont think I ever finished the final season.

In other news. Finished Season 1 of The Expanse last night.

It's really really good. Takes you to about halfway through book 1 (Leviathan Wakes). They've made enough changes to keep the book readers interested, whilst still remaining pretty faithful to the original story.

Roll on the start of S2 in two weeks time :)

Watched The Omen last night on SyFy. It's 40 years old but still stands head and shoulders above anything else in terms of horror movies (Which are not really my thing but I enjoyed this trilogy back when it was released).

Surely this belongs in http://www.edugeek.net/forums/tv-movies/143036-last-movie-i-saw.html? ;)

Unless you also watched the swiftly cancelled

It seems that the little 'un from the original film has grown up with issues, having recently been convicted of a road rage incident and, even worse, become a futures trader: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/jan/13/child-star-of-the-omen-sentenced-on-friday-13th-for-road-rage-attack

I have also watched two episodes of The OA and am not sure. I shall watch a bit more

I watched the whole lot and quite enjoyed it - though the jumping into parallel dimensions through what appears to be "interpretive dance" was a little strange to say the least!

I really enjoyed Sherlock.

They made great use of St Catherine's Island at Tenby for the prison. Now I know why I was never allowed to climb up and explore when I was a kid!

I thought they brought that story to a conclusion brilliantly. It made it a sadder story as a result.

I think there will be more in the future, probably another 2-3 year wait though!

Started watching Van Helsing on Netflix. Story is a little slow to get started, but liking it so far.

The thing that bothers me at the moment with this show is that it is filled with violence, as you'd expect from a vampire/post apocalyptic thriller, but they don't swear. They say "frick" like in Scrubs! That's some messed up ratings system.

That's why I loved the remade Battlestar Galactica! You could put a whole lot of feeling into Frack!

Much better than 'frick' or other such swear replacements!

I kept meaning to find out where that location was - thanks. I think future eps depend on BC & MF. In the beginning it was all "we'll carry on making them forever", but now that BC in particular is a big star, they've been less effusive about it.

In "The Magicians" (also on SyFy) they cut the middle out of the F bombs. Apart from when said by someone with a Russian accent . I wonder if some of it is so that they can sell "uncensored" disks/downloads later.
