Landing is tough but gets easier (having said that i still have the occasional fail moment). Are you using keyboard & mouse, xbox pad or joystick combo?

 

360 pad. Don't have a joystick unfortunately.

The most difficult part of landing I found was getting through the darn opening to a station. Ended up just doing it at high speed, so you've got maximum maneuverability. Not crashed once doing it that way! Then again, I use a full HOTAS setup.

It's certainly playable with a pad but if you have a spare £30 it's worth getting the Thrustmaster HOTAS X. It adds a whole new level of enjoyment to the game

I'll take a look, thanks. I'll see if I can get into it a little more first. I don't really know what I'm doing at the moment. I have earned about 70k from the mission I did, but have 0 idea where I go to get a better ship (If 70k would even cover the cost of a better ship), new guns or anything I can spend the credits on!

Your sidewinder is a nice little ship for a starter. Ideally you'll want to do a few missions/shoot a few wanted people and collect their bounties and build up some funds.

 

Bounty hunting is a good way, if you play in solo mode, find a resource extraction site around a ringed gas giant, scan ships until you find the ones that are wanted. Typically it's a good idea to wait until the local security forces have battered them a bit then you can get the kill shot and claim the money. when you've made a few kills head to a space station in the system you're fighting in and cash in your bounties.

 

As for ship purchasing, the bigger stations have shipyards. That's the place to go to get a new toy. If you have half a mil or more in the bank (probably about an hour or so's play in an extraction site) then pop into a station shipyard and get yourself a Cobra Mk III (£350k or so), this will do you for a good while as it's a great all rounder that can be upgraded into a combat beast / decent trader or explorer

I bought elite dangerous... farmed about 2m in my Sidewinder killing targets, bought a new ship, realized that I have no idea what to do on the game...

 

Then never played it again. It feels very... pointless. I'm sure I'm missing something, I just don't know what.

Bought Farm Sim 2015 at the weekend. Already got over 22 hours logged on it

 

I actually quite love this game. My mrs wanted it for the xbox so I got it for her awhile ago thinking it would be rubbish. It is a surprisingly fun and engaging game. I ended up buying it for the PC so I could mod it. I highly recommend using courseplay if you are playing it solo, this lets you automate pretty much everything so you can end up having lots of equipment running all at the same time

 

Also quick tip, silage for the biogass plant is where the money is at and doesn't take too much equipment (front loader with scoop, mower attachments and a grass collector).

I played it for a while and started running trades while making my way towards Sol but I think I gave up on the way, I really should get back into it as I think it would be pretty cool with my multi-screen setup I have now.

There's a Galaxy Map and a System map you can access. On the Galaxy Map you can generally find a ringed planet with extraction sites in any system that lists Extraction as an industry. Alternatively, the System map will show you all planets and stations in the system. You can use this to find and target a planet.

It's a little bit more complex to control as you only have the controller but other than that it's identical.

I bought Stellaris Nova Edition last night. Thanks to CDKeys.com it was Sub £30.

 

Haven't had chance to play it yet as I had an episode of The Flash to watch.

Get it. It is a superb story driven game and from my experience (so far) I would say it is up there with Bioshock.

Yeah, the Ninja Theory one. Rather a fan of their games in general, it seems, I enjoyed Enslaved too.

 

There's enough flow and challenge in the DmC combat to keep it finely balanced on that "one more mission" knife-edge, and I love the swinging about as well. It's just a satisfying game, even as the story is predictable sub-Buffy* bobbins.

*I love Buffy. This is trying to be like that but "edgy", and it's just silly. So very sincere and 13 years old.
