I bought it on the 360 + Xbox One (physical media) and bought it again Digitally with all the DLC so I can game share with the Mrs. I don't even like it that much lol

 

I lasted about 30 minutes, will go back to it once I have some time but it was very similar to Halo (Im sure I have said that before) and Im not a fan of that either.

@CHR1S Destiny is a bit of a slow burn, it does take a while to get in to and it's definitely more fun with friends, you can do a lot of it solo but you'll get frustrated easily, it is definitely worth giving it another go as once you get in to it it gets very addictive.

I bought The Division yesterday, server errors as soon as I launched it - only played 10 minutes of it or so but good so far.

There have been a few issues with servers due to the recent update. They're aware of it and working on it, I suspect it'll be hotfixed by tonight. MASSIVE seem to be pretty on top of their update game.

 

But once you've completed it, there are challenge modes, and also all but (I think) two levels have a secret on them to find

To add to this, if it piques anyone's interest (I do actually recommend SUPERHOT) finding the hidden terminals can be pretty difficult, as you usually have to go out-of-bounds or off the beaten path to find it, and you also have to have an enemy alive whilst you're searching, as the level ends as soon as you've killed all the red guys. So it can be really tricky to find the hidden terminals. I think I've found about half of them now and it takes some doing.

I really need to start playing Destiny again - I've not really played it much since the last expansion came out.

Picked up the new Need for Speed game in the Xbox Spring sale, all I can say is I feel ripped off paying £18 for it so I can't imagine how someone that paid full price for it feels, it's quite possibly the worst Need for Speed game I've ever played and there have been some really bad NFS games in the past, the car handling is terrible, the constant phone calls is worse than GTA 4 and the racing has more rubber banding than Mario Kart.

 

I've given it 3 hours of my life that I will never get back, I wish Microsoft would follow Steam with their refund policy because that game would have gone back.

 

 

I also picked up Destiny for the 3rd time and The Crew Wild Run edition.

yup nfs is utter utter garbage with cringeworthy cut scenes at least you only paid £18 cost me £33 last year

I started to get into Planetside 2 this past week. I used to play Planetside 1 a lot but the 2nd never really stuck on release.

Had a few days off before easter allowing me 10 days of time to spend with my husband and my computer. I got through a couple of games

 

Saturday - Monday

 

Risen 2

 

Owned this for about 3 years without playing it. Turns out it is a really good game if you can get through the first couple of hours where basically anything can kill you and you can't fight any better than I could in real life if you handed me a sword and a flintlock-style pistol. Nic enumber quests and side quests although limited replay-ability value and also the final boss fight is very very simple (I had spent longer fighting a giant crab on several occasions). Graphics are perfectly acceptable and after the initial island you can go where you please and do what you want in the order you want to do it but enemies don't scale so if, like me, you do everything you can occasionally I had to spend an hour killing things in one or two hits as I was massively overpowered compared to the denizens of the island I had arrived at - conversely I encountered a gnome-eater which I was in no way capable of defeating and it ended up being one of the last things I went for.

Great fun and it took me about 3 days to complete.

The DLC is completely not worth it if you have to spend more than a pound

 

 

Monday - Wednesday

 

Risen 3

 

Enjoyed risen 2 so muc I thought I'd have a go at risen 3 which I bought in the steam winter sale iirc. Based in a similar area to Risen 2 it was nice, having just played it, to se that the returning islands were just the same but with a graphical update. Just like Risen 2 the first couple of hours were a bit of a slog (although secondary weapons are much easier to use in Risen 3). To be honest it's so similar in style to Risen 2 that I could write exactly the same things about it even down to the final boss battle which, again, took me far less time that killing some skeleton enemies.

This game also took me about 3 days and again the DLC doesn't add enough to it to be worth buying separately.

 

 

Thursday

 

Gothic 3

 

Made by the same people as the Risen series - very similar in lots of ways. I spent half a day playing it but I couldn't really get into it - the constantly being killed thing was really frustrating as I would get up on almost no health having technically only been knocked down, have dropped my sword and would then get hit by the person who had just killed me killing me again - escape was just about possible if I didn't mind losing my (only) sword and this was the very first part of the game (technically the tutorial). Eventually I managed to get away but the same thing happened everywhere and I thought the first person rpg thing might just have run it's course for me for the moment so I tried another type of game.

 

 

Shadowrun Returns

 

It looked like it might be a laser squad/xcom style game but it's not really like that. It's turn based but the comparisson seems to end there and there is so much text to read - well done for having typed it all but a nice cut scene with a voice over would have been nice.

I spent about 3 hours playing it but I just couldn't get into the game so it's been added to my mental list of games to have another go at during my next long break. I get the feeling it is good but I need to find out how

It reminds me a bit, and this is going back some way, of Bloodnet which I really enjoyed on my Amiga (yes that far back)

 

DarkSouls + Lords of the Fallen

 

Two games that don't have workable keyboard/mouse controls (in my opinion).

Sometimes I don't mind being forced to use my controller to play the odd game but that sort of thing immediately makes me less forgiving of anything else I don't like in a game and they got about 2 hours out of me each before my frustrations soured me on them both. I may never play them again.

 

 

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - I have tried playing this before and I think I lasted exactly the same length of time. It just couldn't hold my attention and I bored of it after a couple of hours.

 

This getting easily bored of games may be something to do with the shear number I have in my steam account - there are so many I could be playing that if I'm not instantly gripped by a game it may not get the attention it deserves.

 

 

Friday - Monday (and still going)

 

On Thursday afternoon I bought the Witcher 3 and the Heart of Stone DLC from GMG/GOG for a combined price of £25. I had been waiting for the steam version to come down in price a bit but in the end though f*** it I'll just install it like a normal game. Took one look at the number of downloads that entails and promptly changed my mind and used the Galaxy software to do it for me. Took most of the remainder of my assigned computer time so I didn't start playing it until Friday. On Friday morning I noticed Watchdogs had had a fairly hefty price cut and I would have bought this if it had happened a bit earlier.

 

I have a thing where in games like this (think Dragon Age 3 or any of the Elder Scrolls games) I have to complete the game in a way that lets me do every possible side quest and having played this for 3 days unless I spend about a week with excel setting up some sort of a spreadsheet I'm not sure it's going to be possible.

There are too many things that only show up in the quest log when completed, too many quests that affect other quests unexpectedly - who would have though releasing a strange blob/demon horse thing from under a haunted tree would mean some woman, in a seemingly entirely unrelated quest, would be cursed with looking like a 60s/70s hippy who refused to enter the 80s and then died and by doing that cause another, more major, character to die as well?

 

My initial thoughts on the game was that it was a bit boring but that turned out to be (after some forum reading) that I was just playing it on too low a difficulty settings - I have set it to the second highest and now It's much more enjoyable and strangely I'm much better at fighting now I have to use the entire range of combat options because almost everything is too string to kill with my sword.

 

Having Geralt's beard grow as time passes is both amusing and annoying - there's just something humorous I find about having to put off saving a woman from being torn apart by some undead nasty because I need to visit the barber's that morning because having a white beard just makes him look too old.

 

This is going to be a dragon age 3 style game in it's hugeness (If I complete this in under 150 hours I will be surprised) - I may well be playing this every day from now until the summer.

The female protagonist has the same voice as the female DA2 champion as well which caught me off guard when I first head her speak although she does seem to be trying to do an impression of Emilia Fox at times.

 

So far I'm enjoying it as much as Dragon Age 3 (which it is fairly similar to) and The Witcher (to which it is less similar to - I miss the fighting styles of the first game). It is thankfully only very superficially similar to The Witcher 2 which I just didn't enjoy at all - I kept hoping that eventually it would become good but alas it really doesn't - 40 hours I won't get back.

Started playing SOMA. It's very atmospheric and creepy, but doesn't quite live up Frictional Games' flagship, Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

 

Also purchased Split/Second. I played it with my friend on his PS3 when it came out and enjoyed it, so why not.

@Sagima the biggest surprise for me with W3 is the adult content, I actually got a bit embarrassed when I started playing it with other family members around, that bath scene! haha

Also when you visit that herbalist woman early in the game she finished talking then promptly bent over in front of me in a look at my arse moment.

Yes there is quite a bit of that going on, plenty of breasts on show although the sex scenes are only as revealing as the DA2 and DA3 ones were.

On my first playthough I thought two rabbits had been generated on top of each other. Later I realised that the bunnies do seem to be attempting to reproduce if you watch them. I haven't seen this with any of the other wildlife so far.

Was tempted by unity and rogue on sale at 60%, but I still a load more games I've brought to play first so going to hold out for the 75% discount, hopefully xmas sale.

just completed fire emblem path of radience so can now put the gamecube controller and wii back away as part 2 is on wii so i can play that on my wii u no more console on a 42" tv using a scart socket lol

Seems good. it's currently on offer on ps store for ~£1.60 , may buy it then cancel ps now, im not too far into the game anyway. and my backlog of games on ps4 and ps3 is around the 15-20 games mark.

I have completed the main story for Witcher 3 now (took me just under 100 hours and reached L35 on the Blood and Bones difficulty)

I've not started on the main expansion and it hasn't left me with the desperate need to play it straight away again which both Skyrim and Dragon Age 3 did - both of which I immediately played the whole way through again after finishing. (they are the two games I have that are most like it)

I ended up putting in over 600 hours into Skyrim making it my second most played game (with Civ5 at the top with almost 700). I imagine if one could go back in time and log the hours I spent playing on my Amiga that Frontier, Pools of Darkness and Eye of the Beholder 2 probably make up the top 5.

I don't think Witcher3 is going to challenge that.

 

The first witcher game is still my favourite but this is certainly worth picking up in a sale.

 

I estimate I'll play it once more (probably not New Game +) - a bit more completionist this time I think as I didn't do much of the top right part of the main map or Skellege. If they can release the second DLC while I'm playing that game then I'll also play it but if not I probably won't bother.

 

Speaking of which - it's been 5 years since Skyrim came out - shouldn't there be at least a screenshot of the next installment by now , maybe a name or something?

 

In the mean time I'm playing a HoG (Dark Heritage: Guardians of Hope) - I do those to cleanse my pallet before making a decision on what to play next (it may be witcher3 again). A bit like a digital sorbet I suppose.

finished (bought ages ago and did most of the stopped for some reason) phoenix wright started 2nd one now still on fire emblem radiant dawn and still not started Zelda twilight princess hd ive had since launch so far all ive done is remove the amibo from the box and put it on my digi box lol

 

suspect I might get starfox when its out but might wait as I still have unfinished(or started) games on the go

 

(just cause 3 expansion, pokemon yellow, ff7, ff8 (not started yet but on my pc) Zelda twilight princess, another phoenix wright game (got as a trilogy on eshop done 1 started 1),got sunset overdrive of games with gold and got fire emblem fates se on order for may 20th

There are lots of FF8 PC Port mods that are worth getting. I don't have a link to hand but there's a huge steam thread full of them. Mostly just graphical/UI improvements, but there's the original (non-MIDI) music and such. Worth having a look at.

ill see how I get on with it first (if I ever start it lol) the graphics/music of 7 didn't bother me much I think I got near the end and realised I needed to grind for levels and just cba with it lol
