mthomas08 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Whats strange over this, I've seen 4 different surveys and this petition. The survey says 25-35% want him sacked while the other % want him back. Petition has reached an insane amount in 48 hours - 750,000 want him back. Even Celebs are starting to jump to his defence. For someone that so many hate him, I guess so many more like him. Recent thing to pop up though is the BBC could face issues/penalties/sanctions for cancellation of Top Gear. I just cant wait till all the information is released, there is still so little to go on and as others have said - why are the police not involved.
LeMarchand Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 For someone that so many hate him, I guess so many more like him. Bit like Justin Beiber.
LiamH Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Bit like Justin Beiber. Bet he would give you a bop on the nose for that comparison!
Dos_Box Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Guy Martin?! Even the Stig would run away from that mentalist! Nice entertaining chap though

The survey says 25-35% want him sacked while the other % want him back. Nothing strange necessarily - they are measures of different things. Jeremy "Marmite" Clarkson. I quite like him, but he is also a complete idiot. I don't know why that kind of opinion should matter though. Recent thing to pop up though is the BBC could face issues/penalties/sanctions for cancellation of Top Gear. I just cant wait till all the information is released, there is still so little to go on and as others have said - why are the police not involved. Police don't have to be involved for something to be unacceptable in the workplace. Edited March 13, 2015 by witch
LeMarchand Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Bet he would give you a bop on the nose for that comparison! I could take Beiber .
tmcd35 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I thought claims of a media stunt a little far fetched, does this show really need to drum up publicity to increase audience share? (note - I haven't seen any viewing figures for recent episodes, just imagine they are relatively healthy). Then I saw this: BBC News - Jeremy Clarkson approached BBC bosses about 'fracas' The last line... Clarkson, and co-presenters May and Richard Hammond, are due to renegotiate their contracts next month. See this petition, see how popular we are, give us more money? 1
hardtailstar Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Knew something would be at the bottom of it.

"You have been a naughty boy Clarkson, we will sign your contract but at a pay-cut due to this whole thing"
Trapper Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) Or he could actually be an over-entitled diva like idiot and be fired. Edited March 13, 2015 by witch 1

Geoff Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Plot twist: Clarkson reported the incident to BBC head of television, Danny Cohen. Jeremy Clarkson approached BBC bosses about 'fracas' - BBC News The last line of the article being: Clarkson, and co-presenters May and Richard Hammond, are due to renegotiate their contracts next month.
elsiegee40 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 And with various papers reporting that "A lawyer for Mr Tymon said his client "intends to await the outcome of the BBC investigation and will make no comment until that investigation is complete", the producer has probably threatened legal action against Clarkson and/or the BBC which is why all this blew up so quickly.
Arthur Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Not sure if this is true or not, given that it's from The Mirror. Jeremy Clarkson called Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon 'a lazy Irish ,' BBC probe will be told Jeremy Clarkson threatened to have producer Oisin Tymon sacked before he punched him in the face during a 40-minute rant over a missing meal, his disciplinary hearing will be told. The Top Gear presenter allegedly ripped into his stunned colleague after arriving by helicopter at a hotel from a pub where he had been boozing heavily for several hours with co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond to find no hot food. He called Oisin a “lazy, Irish ” before splitting his lip with a punch that left the 36-year-old with blood running down his face and needing treatment in A&E, the BBC investigation will be told. He also suffered dizziness, it is claimed. One statement is to allege the presenter went nose to nose with the senior producer and barked at him: “You’ll be on the dole tomorrow. I’m going to make sure you will not have a job.”
Trapper Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 It's all a stunt. Either get the BBC to pay them more and back away from the tree hugging brigade or an excuse for Jezza to take the format of new Top Gear to a commercial broadcaster where he'd get much more money. If this does happen I wonder if Hammond and May will move? I can see May doing it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Hammond being the main presenter on a revamped BBC TG.
LeMarchand Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Its like CSI on here. Though as we're going on behaviour, surely more Criminal Minds?
LeMarchand Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Doh! Forgot to open with obligatory pun, and now it's too late to edit! Imagine this above the video: 1
