tg12 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I didn't take my camera in the end, the fence being so close to the track doesn't make for good photos! Yeah, must admit that most of the time, it was an exercise in futility. Found a couple of good gaps though and enjoyed the fact that it forced me to get creative with my shots!

Album on Flickr its not too bad on the inside of the track but a lot of the outside (indy circuit) has high fences though looking through my photos it seems to show better on thumbnails than full photos for some reason but iirc i had to resort to manual focusing as the auto kept deciding i wanted pictures of fence lol

There's a few points out in the middle of Silverstone where you can find a gap in the fence at track level, but most of the time, you're having to try and work through them. If only I could get hold of a photographer tabard!

Harder now as full frame but 300mm on a crop and you'll get plenty even at Silverstone. [ATTACH=CONFIG]37820[/ATTACH] if you have a decent length lens rockingham is good you can see 98% of the track from the stands. Just to be different best circuit ive been to for pretty much any reason has been knockhill its just a flipping long drive there and back from leeds in a day lol. I agree snet and oulton arnt bad, Ive only been to silverstone once and i just wasnt impressed it may of been because it was the full gp circuit so cars went past then 2-3 mins later again and your line of site is such that if you can see more than 2 corners youre doing well. donington is bad for fences esp on the outside and since the failed f1 bid about half the infield is a no go area, thruxton you can only get to the bottom of the circuit all the interesting stuff is all but out of sight/long way away
