Hi All, I think if the power goes who cares :-) you are in the smelly brown stuff anyway, we tried to setup the tills to use a local cache database and had a nightmare as the software wasn't compatible with the Windows 7 pos we use, so ended up using older software and make it work, basically we are able to go off line and when the server comes back on it re-syncs the sales data, have a great weekend.... Hi All, the following company can do a document scanner which scans documents into most MIS providers, the beauty of this is, once the document header has been created e.g. with a barcoded front page the rest is simple, it will scan multiple documents in, and if you ever change MIS they will follow you..... unlike SIMS where once they are in they are in and you cant get them back out into another MIS.. not a problem with that, however I do have a problem being quoted £1765.00 to replace our Note loaders and engineers time, when actually only "1" needs replacing, the rest can be firmware upgraded....... Fair days work for a fair days pay...... "Nearly Friday" "6 x new note readers - £1170.00+vat. Installation for 3 note readers - £595.00+vat. Total - £1765.00+vat."

Morning, it took us a while to figure BitLocker out and to make it very clear to staff who use the laptops to keep both devices separate, I think the "if you return the pen drive then we wont prosecute you" seemed to help.... if the laptop gets stolen and they return the pen drive I am not that bothered, still miffed that they lost a laptop but it is better than nothing and a device unlocked if they keep both together, so far touch wood all is good and with 100+ staff with laptops it seems to be working..... no doubt just put the kiss of death on it and some one will walk in saying they have lost a laptop and the pen drive was in the bag Andy

Morning All, I wondered when all this would kick off, we have just been quoted...... hold your breath....... as we have 6 Note loaders....... are you ready.............. from Cunninghams........ New note loaders @ £1170.00 plus VAT, Installation of three note loaders.... £595.00 plus vat totalling £1765.00 plus the beautiful VAT....... my point.... they haven't even phoned or asked us for the serial numbers of the units, basically if the note loader starts with NV90USB then all they need is a firmware update, we actually have one note reader which needs replacing, I have been quoted by Innovative Technologies (who make them) via this link... http://www.innovative-technology.com/shop/bank-note-validators/nv9-usb-bank-note-validator-detail and if its just the firmware update that is needed then buy this bit of kit, dSupport Tools / Accessories : DA2 Programming Kit down load the firmware form the Innovative website and do it yourself..... hope this helps Andy

Hi All, hope this helps, we use Impero and to be truthful we would be stuffed without it, it pretty much does do everything we need it to do and more, Violation captures, roll's out MSI's, remote control, teacher admin for ICT rooms, Print management, instant blocks, instant Internet blocks for those darling students who persist in trying to access Hacking, Porn, Google, Proxy bypass, yade yade yade yaaaa, it has been brilliant, ok we have like any other software had a couple of issues but the support from Impero has been brilliant, you can shut down specific computers at set times, boot them up at set times, "Brilliant" ***** from Middtech. if contacting them for Quotes just pass our name on to them (nope we don't get anything back just a Thank You) Andy Middleton Technology School.
