Hi , I have been having a really odd issue since the start of December that I am starting to go mad over! So we have recently started to dip our toes in MECM to move away from MDT as it is phased out my Microsoft and I have manged to deploy a full Win 11 student image with software on no problems. However when I moved it into the correct OU needed that pushes out other software packages via GPO that we didn't want on MECM, Adobe CC would not install at all. When it failed it would still show on the booting screen saying "installing adobe cc" but it didn't hang for long and didn't actually install. When checking the program files there would be a root adobe folder, with a Creative Cloud folder inside, but then nothing else installed. After hours and hours of testing I found that if I removed the GPO that deployed AB Tutor , adobe CC does install ok. From what I can tell this issue never happened on Win 10. Going to keep testing with a new Win 10 image to try figure it out, but has anyone had a similar issue with CC installs on Win 11 via GPO, or noticed any clashes with ab Tutor with CC? Thanks

hi, We block youtube for students across windows and chrome devices using, however they have discovered that when in google classroom they can post to the stream which enabled them to post a youtube video. Students go into Google Classroom, to one of their classes. On the Stream tab click on "Add YouTube video" and then just start searching for YouTube videos. Posts to the stream need to be on so they can upload work. Anyone know of a way to block these?

Hi We used to use the RM Tutor classroom management system which had a feature which allowed students to notify the teacher if they required help by clicking a button on the task bar, and then a notification appeared on the teachers machine. We now use ABTutor, which doesnt have this feature, but I wondered if anyone knew of a stand-alone solution that would give me this ability. Potentially a program that could run on all out machines and link to a tutor machine. We are running Windows 7 on Sever 2003 (hoping to upgrade to Server 2008 very soon) Thanks

AB Tutor v9 is installed in two computer science classrooms. We have created our own DNS that the client connects to. But for some odd reason on a certain PC, the client version will randomly go missing. It is not possible for students to accessed the settings to uninstall manually, nor can they use the command prompt. I have had a look through the event logs without any success. This often happens to the console version also, where it will search for the wrong DNS or again, go missing entirely. Any help to why this is happening will be much appreciated

Hi, We currently use Ranger for network security, Smoothwall for filtering and ABTutor v6 for Classroom management. We also have Ranger in place and I was considering ditching it because version 7 was a joke - Ranger Central LOL. Ranger hasn't really changed since V5 - We only really use it rarely to find out who used a PC last. It was essential in Win95 era but now things have moved on with group policy etc It seems a bit redundant. I'm considering changing from Ranger and ABTutor, to either Impero or Securus (unless there is a better product I havn't considered). The reason for changing from ABTutor: ABTutor v6 is in use by a few teachers but they often don't use it because of a few issues. It often crashes on client PC's and I almost always get the message abtutor had a problem send error report when I logon to student Pc's as an admin. Staff Laptops with a wireless conncection can't show their screen to 30 student PC's because there isn't enough bandwidth to do so- so it crashes. Staff can connect to computers in a different room - often when they choose a room to connect to it connects to a few PC's in a different location - This could be a DHCP\DNS issue though. Whenever the program gets updated we have to visit lots of laptops to update them, and meanwhile have inconsistent versions across the site. - It looks like impero has a central console to avoid this problem? The product is very standalone in it nature - I would much prefer a central console which teachers then connect to. At the moment policies (like banning the internet) are set very differently depending on the teacher, and they get confused by polices a previous teacher set. - I want to set the polices then teachers turn them on or off, The one good thing about AB is the price, much better value than either of the alternatives I'm considering. Do you get what you pay for? Does impero have these problems? I know Securus and impero do two different jobs, - but they often achieve the same result - students on task and maintaining the security of the network. The big problem with securus is the cost, so it might be more useful at the moment to first of all consider ABTutor vs Impero (since they do the same job). So ABTutor vs Impero. Is the grass greener on the other side?
