Norphy Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) I noticed a "Rogue Edition" of X-Men: Days Of Future Past on iTunes today so I decided to give it a look It's actually quite worth seeing. I thought the film was nowhere near as entertaining as First Class. Beginning to wonder if Singer has lost his mojo.

LeMarchand Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Warm Bodies Romeo & Juliet with zombies as the Montagues. After an interesting start it gets a bit "meh". If the trailer intrigued you it may be worth a look, but you could probably find better things to do for a couple of hours.

But a good for putting on in the background and a lot of reference jokes, Arnie says "get to the choppah!" a lot ect How to train your dragon 2, Love the first, the second was also great. The Help, This was just starting on TV as I was heading upstairs and i couldn't walk away. It is about African American house maids during the 1960's and is adapted from a book of the same name. It had it's up's and downs and was a real eye opener to just how bad things were such a relatively short time ago. Some funny moments too.

midweek Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Ex Machina. Very good indeed. By contrast I thought this was a poor movie (explaining why would be hard without spoilers). I can see why people would like it though.
LeMarchand Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 The Inbetweeners 2. I'm ashamed to admit I laughed. A lot. Started watching mockdoc "Kenny", but Mme LeMarchand found it annoying. Can't say I was enthralled enough to argue against switching it off.

LeMarchand Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 Finally got around to watching The Cabin In The Woods. Really enjoyed it, though the trailer gave way too much away. Funny and clever; worth a look if you enjoy horror movies.

An interesting insight into the time and place, necessarily narrow in it's focus but all the more revealing for that. Great performances, beautiful cinematography, well paced, just about everything you could ask for in the art of making a film. I'd rate this as must see. 1

I quite fancied that one, but Mme LeMarchand suffers from Corvidophobia and wouldn't see it at the flicks. We did see Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation last night. Very entertaining if you like that sort of thing, though they need to get away from the "have to go rogue to get the job done" plot. (As well as tell Tom to keep his shirt on). This one is a bit more "SF" than normal, as it's set in a parallel world where the dominant phone ecosystem is Microsoft's. I could be wrong, but it looked like Simon Pegg was playing an X-Box (Halo) game on his work computer - nice to see the CIA have already gone for Windows 10.
