I found Windows 8 a breeze to use and feel I am having to take a step backwards to accommodate idiots who cant move forward in life. Thanks but don't tar us all with the same brush. I'm far from an idiot but I know, for a keyboard and mouse user that TIFKAM is not a particularly intuitive system - and certainly I personally don't like it. Having an option to have it in a certain way is always a good feature, removing all the options however isn't.

I realise that the majority of people didn't like it, but I find it very easy to use with KB+M. The only thing I altered was the top corner hot zone as the Charms Bar kept coming up when I was trying to close windows.

I just found it immensley annoying that something that had been small and discrete and functional became this unnecesarilly massive thing that took over my whole screen and just felt like MS saying 'look at me aren't I different' everytime I wanted a program. On a desktop it all just seemed overkill. In windows 8.1 for desktops I would have prefered the option to not have a full screen modern ui and instead a start menu option that scrolled up the left hand side when you hit the start button similar to the charms bar.

JRowley Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I'm about to install an enterprise client on hyper-v to test it on a domain, with the regular tech preview i've connected it to a MS account and just using it as I would normally use it at home, apps, customisation, etc. etc.

sted Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 well windows server essentials experience fails i THINK due to being on a dc but the first time the error was just nope not doing that and cant find the canary network thing i installed but so far ive installed it and thats about it

Probably very little, usually it's things like bit-locker. At this stage its probably the difference between Windows 8.1 Professional and Enterprise. I can confirm SIMS.net runs on Windows 10... Excellent when they are getting ready to announce the next major OS release in 4 or 5 years time Capita can announce they officially support Windows 10. Edited October 2, 2014 by JRowley 1

I think this is to accommodate the APP creation etc. I touched writing Metro apps a while back and it used XML. Just a hunch Just had a quick look, It's taken them 2 years to come up with this ? It's windows 8 with a few 3rd party addons... To be fair, they don't start developing straight away. They start planning and researching. Which they've already done... Does it matter that it's taken two years for a REALLY EARLY demo? Not really... We've been content with other OS's.
