Downloaded and installed using SCCM 2012 R2. Completely and surprisingly painless, it just worked™. I was expecting to have to find a new version of Windows PE but no...

There is also a Windows Server Technical Preview and System Center Technical Preview (no SCCM just yet) on MSDN if you have access to that.

just got server up and running. It has an interesting sounding new role which im installing for no reason lol network controllers (the network controller provides the point of automation needed for continual configuration, monitoring and diagnosis of virtual networks, physical networks, network services, network topology, address management, etc within a datacaentre stamp)

and windows server essentials experience (not typing out too long but seems to be about cloud, backup, remote access)

and in features we have canary network diagnostics and ipam which complains its not a dc (give me a mo lol)

I wouldn't at all be surprised if a few years later down that route some sort of subscription is needed just to access the store.

I really can't see that happening for end users because there isn't any need to do so.

Apple already makes plenty of money from iOS developers: a 30% cut of all revenue generated through apps and $99 per to be part of their developer program.

Currently (slowly) downloading one of the ENT versions. Will need to go back to get t'other and then (from the looks of it) sign out/back in with another ID to get the home version. Planning on VM-ing the ENTx64 and installing the Home version on a laptop at home tonight.

I'm liking it so far but I think some of the apps like Mail if you're not using a Microsoft account should be able to sign into gmail or any other email account, That would be a winner for me,

Totally agree. I found Windows 8 a breeze to use and feel I am having to take a step backwards to accommodate idiots who cant move forward in life.

So turn it back on. It's not rocket science.
