I dunno, there is a lot of pressure on Brazil to deliver and opening games can give us some interesting results:

 

1982: Argentina 0 - 1 Belgium (Argentina being reigning champions)

1986: Bulgaria 1 - 1 Italy (Italy being reigning champions)

1990: Argentina 0 - 1 Cameroon (Argentina being reigning champions)

2002: France 0 - 1 Sengal (France being reigning champions)

 

I wouldn't underestimate Croatia with Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Mario Mandzukic all having great seasons.

I saw a stat this morning, the Host nation of a world cup have apparently never lost their opening game.

 

I'm sure there will be nerves and a few squeaky bum moments, but I think they'll win by more than 1 goal.

 

EDIT: also, Mandzukic is suspended for this game.
