Favourite quote quote on Brazil v Mexico

Pat Nevin - 5 live

The real disappointment for me was Fred. The comer flag moved better than he did

I do like an underdog and to see the much hyped Brazil kept to 0-0 by a very good Mexico was brilliant. I feel bad Mexico didn't manage to convert any of their chances, that would really put the cat amongst the proverbial Scolari ;)

It's not happened in Brazil, it's happened in Nigeria. It's not really the fault of the world cup.... Of course it's still tragic.

I know where Nigeria is! Still related though, that part of the world is unstable and it was inevitable that people would gather to watch a game and some militant savage would take advantage of it. This is the same group that attacked schools and kidnapped the children before selling them into slavery.

I'm aware of who the group are.... Had those people gathered to watch Nigeria play a friendly the same thing would have happened. As you said this place is unstable and it was inevitable that something like this would happen (whether the world cup was on or not) I think the fears of the world cup were protests, riots, gang crime and such in Brazil.

As I said it's tragic but I wouldn't say that it happened due to the world cup

I heard the commentator say during the Brazil game that there was 20 murders reported from Friday to Sunday in the city the game was being played. Think i'll stick to being an armchair fan...

Yeah, I think that's pretty normal in Brazil, don't fancy it too much myself either. I think the pub is a much better idea :)

I did, enough to put £5 on Chile at 4/1. Also had a tenner on Croatia to win with Mandzukic to score anytime at just over 3s.

Quitting whilst I'm very much ahead.

Also Cahill's goal was an absolute belter

I'm far too on edge for tonight; still no expectations but can't help but be nervous about it. Turning up for once would be nice though.

I think we'll be fine tonight, I think 3-1 England and Rooney will score (Assuming he's playing in his proper position and not thrown out on the left again).

You should probably take all these predictions over to our competition! ;)

I'm thinking 2-1 England and I think the last 10/15 minutes are going to be that heart-attack inducing, bum squeaking, can't quite watch type of football.

my interest in football comes and goes really here, love rugby and always have (part of being welsh), I do love a world cup though and its unpredictable nature, that being said, Spain last night didnt even look bothered when they went out, they lost last week I think.

Mighty tense night for a lot of English fans though, nice not too have the ridiculous hype and expectations this time around in the media though
