Okay, well, I've done the config change with the proxy (using IP:PORT) and it seems to crash less... It still stops typing after 6-10 seconds of talking or after a certain number of words but it's better than what I had before. Do others also have what I just mentioned?

Hi @Defiant-Run5910 - What Proxy settings did you change/what are you using? We have a GPO that enables a proxy for internet access for exam accounts but normally we don't use a proxy (just auto detect).

Honestly, I don't think I've known a more unhelpful company than Texthelp. What do you use @ovenchips?

Thanks @6Foot2 - Does ExamWritePad now have a scribe mode then (assume that's what you're saying?)?
-
Hi all, Has anyone had experience of using the scribe feature (and it actually working) on Read&Write? We're using the 'Exam Mode' and although the whole bit of software is awful, the scribe feature is like trying to flog a dead horse. It's so flakey, freezes and stops after 10 seconds of talking. I found out that the scribe feature requires an active internet connection now, but even after creating exam accounts that are able to contact their servers, it doesn't always work properly. If anyone has got it working, please help! Or alternatively, do you know of any other good scribe software you use for exams? Thanks!

Hello all! I've found that whenever we select 'reset password' and select 'user must change password at next logon', it never works in the sense that it always says the password does not meet the complexity requirements despite it meeting the requirements. They have to enter the password directly on AD but doesn't work until the device has been restarted. This seems to work fine on Windows 10. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think it's possibly a MS Edge problem... Just tried it in Google Chrome and the file saves instantly. Not helpful when Edge is the standard browser across the site!

Hi all, Past week or so, it's been noticed that specifically Word Online through office.com, OneDrive or our SharePoint Online is taking around 15-20 seconds to save each time a change is made. I cannot find a single thread or post about this online. When a change is made, the auto-save feature kicks in but doesn't save anything for ages. When I go to click edit in desktop mode or save as it hangs for a little while as if it's waiting for the auto-save to finish. To be clear, this is on Word Online not the desktop app. Cannae find a single setting for it either. Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

Hi all, Has anyone had any experience/success in deploying Unity? I've setup an organization which has 1 seat assigned to it under a Unity Educator Plan. I assume that 1 seat covers all the users in that organization? That's the first issue. Secondly, how would one go about deploying it? Do I need the Unity Hub or could I get away with installing the LTSB version of Unity? Using a script, I managed to extract the setup.exe and the WebGL+Universal addons which is then linked to a .bat file and then deployed via SCCM. Unity Hub is also deployed. When staff/students go to log in though it just spins on the Hub and errors out. Any help would be appreciated because Unity are so slow and their articles are useless! Thanks

Hi - I literally deployed Python 3.10.2 via SCCM and then using PDQ deployed a batch file called installscript.bat. Inside that script is 'pip install \\install_location\pygame-2.1.2-cp310-cp310-win_amd64.whl' rather than using the custom script button inside PDQ.

Well... The age old trick "have you restarted" worked... Rebooted the VM server and it kicked back to life. Can't make it up! -
Avaya Manager - Voicemail Pro help
Benjaminbl12 replied to Benjaminbl12's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hi Tosh, I'm back in the office now but still no luck - It seems like it just doesn't connect? When you get past the menu, I assume it reaches the time out but there's no dial/noise so it just sounds like it's dropped. -
Avaya Manager - Voicemail Pro help
Benjaminbl12 replied to Benjaminbl12's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Thanks for the really detailed explanation. I thought I had it when I connected up the Timeout to the transfer however still nothing. I've attached a photo for you to see if there's anything else. Maybe in the manager? -

Thanks - I had that option on already. What do you mean when you say 'link this option to your reception number'? Thanks, Ben -
Avaya Manager - Voicemail Pro help
Benjaminbl12 replied to Benjaminbl12's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hi Tosh Looking to put the call through to reception if no option is selected. Thanks -
Hello! Our reception team wanted to change up our greeting on the phone system. We use Avaya IP 500 v2 and for the most part have set up the new greeting correctly using Voicemail Pro and the manager with what was already there. However, they get put through a menu (press 1, press 2...) and then they're now meant to hold to be put through to the reception phone rather than pressing a button. I can't find the setting though for this and it just never connects. All the other bits work. Is anyone able to share their VOIP wisdom with me? Thanks!

pip download pygame --dir c:\temp I use File System, the type is a folder, path is %ProgramFiles%\Python310\include, and the file/folder name is pygame.h ...And then after all that pip install //share/pygame-2.1.2-cp310-cp310-win_amd64.whl

Trying to make a bootable macOS USB but getting error
Benjaminbl12 replied to Benjaminbl12's topic in Mac
So update - For some reason installing Mojave worked... Weird...! Will try making a bootable device on the updated mac rather than our server... -
Hi all, Trying to make a macOS Monterey bootable USB as I've managed to lock myself out/brick a device using JAMF. All seems to go okay when make the install but when I try to boot from it, it just comes up with that no entry sign and reboots. I've then tried to now make a Big Sur install but it keeps throwing up an error about 'the bless of the installer disk failed'. Tried it on 3 different USBs now and can't find anything useful online! I'm making the bootable installs on our Mac server which is on Sierra. Thanks

Hi all! Thanks for all your support on this. In the end, I'm using a quick script which I deploy via PDQ. Works well pip install //share/pygame-2.1.2-cp310-cp310-win_amd64.whl 'pygame-2.1.2-cp310-cp310-win_amd64.whl' is the file that I downloaded from a VM I installed it on for testing. This way, it makes it a local install rather than doing via the internet! Many thanks
-
Good idea - Probably work for us as well however, how do you manage backups with this? And where do their files go? Is it local to the Mac or does it read from your fileserver?
-
Do you put those commands in the pygame cmd script?
-
How would it know about proxies? We don't use a proxy.
-
Should be! And don't call me Shirley...
