1. Use the exchange calculator to help you size/design your databases 2. make sure you meet sys requirements for exch 2010 3. Understand how you should deploy exch, I.e transition or migration. 4. understand what your requirements are and how you will meet them, I.e do you need HA for each role, mbx/cas/hub 5. Understand backup/restore requirements. 6. If it's only for 100 users, it's going to be a fairly easy deployment. However, manage your storage for these users. 7. if you can get metric for your current users, use this as a baseline and calculate your requirements for resources needed for exch Sukh

1. it depends on the format the external system is using too. 2. To try and get a solution can you attache a sample of the msg? Or PM me. 3. If you can then save it as a complete msg file. 4. Confirm you can reproduce the issue?
-
It sounds like more with the format of the messages, and how they are sent/received and if converted. If you can reproduce the issue then, test with different formats first and let me know the results.
-
@ricki - Similar issues?

I've had no issues with SEP with images but most of the deployements have been through the console. Quite straightforward you'lle be OK. If you do have issues post back.

You might want to follow this thread in case you have issue :-) Quite a few people followed that article and doesn't always seem to work. Post if you have issues, http://www.edugeek.net/forums/office-software/71945-problems-installing-office-2010-a-2.html

Run the ExBPA from the toolbox and post/pm the results.

1. The DC/GC you decomm'ed, did this hold any of the FSMO roles? Check where the FSMO roles are now and status.
-
1. I was referring to dsaccess. Run EMS and run get-exchangeserver yourexchangeservername | fl > c:\exch.txt Look for enteries begining with staticdomaincontroller etc... there should be about 3 or 4 2. What are the DNS enetires on your NIC, which one is preferred?
-
1. Check your DNS settings on the Exch server 2. As mentioned above, what this the only DC/GC in your foresr/domain? 3. Have you used static enteries for exchange to use for GC querirs, if yesy, then change this

wes. 1. If you access OWA EXTERNALLY as a normal user does this work? 2. If you try 3. What did you publish as your public name on TMG? 4. Where did you change the https://mai.mu.sch.uk ? Was this changed as you say to omit the /OWA? 5. What did you specify as your internal site name when configuring TMG?
-
@Wes What are you trying to achieve. When you're trying accessing another mailbox is this internally or externally?
-
Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Server yourservername |fl >c:\owa.txt
-
1. Not sure what you mean. Is OWA published as https://mail.my.sch.uk/[email protected] ? I.e if you type this in IE, you get prsented with OWA? 2. OWA/ is the default virtual directory, why are you trying to change this? 3. Run Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Server yourservername and post/PM results Sukh

GMail apps email - strange problem
sukh replied to HaleStorm's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Has it disappeared from the sent itmes too? Maybe you should consider hosting email yourself. Bring it in-house. -
1. Check where your MX records are poiting. If they are routed to LEA external address, check your cachepilot to see what it's aceetping/ 2. Send yourself an email from external such as hotmail, google and check the headers, you can see the route it takes and will identify your exch server. 3. What roles are installed on your Exchange server, if you have CAS/HUB/MBX then yes, you will have Exchange hosted on your site. 4. Your Exchange server, if it's part of your AD forest, and sits in one of your AD sites, then you will have Exchange on premises. 5. If this is the case, you will most certainly have Exchange deoplyed as you will need HUB in your site where MBX is. This is a mandortary requirement. Sukh

Can we run Exchange Server 2010 on 2008 domain controllers?
sukh replied to coconurtaler's topic in Enterprise Software
1. You can do this but you will have MAJOR issues from my experience. 2. Virtualise one server, have on DC virtualiased. Sukh -
1. Good advice above. 2. Think about the tradeoffs of not having that data backed up 3. If the data's not critical then just use RAID, if it's critical, do you need it in case of a site failure, from the post it seems not as the data was in cupboards anyway 4. If you have SAN, you can use RAID with SAN replication if you do have another plex. Sukh
