Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 Migration - Final Issues
sukh replied to PaulO99's topic in Enterprise Software
1. Outlook 2003 requires free/busy otherwise you can book meetings/appointments without knowing free/busy info for users. 2. You will have to keep the PF database around until you get rid of Outlook 2003. -
1. They should be logged on your DC, you can check those or setup an alert or use a monitoring system to trigger email or use a script to send emails

Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 Migration - Final Issues

1. Do you use exch PF? 2. Do you have any data in them at all that you need? 3. Do you have Outlook 2003 clients, if yes, then you will have to keep the PF database for free/busy? -

1. Running the script will only work once, unless you schedule it, maybe if you have your staff on 1 DB, grant access at the DB level that way any new mailboxes created will have this permission applied to them. Something like the below. Get-MailboxDatabase -identity “[mailbox database name]” | Add-ADPermission -user [username] -AccessRights GenericAll

1. What version of Exch 2. Would probably be easier if you were running Exch 2007/2010 with Outlook 2007/2010, autodiscover would take care of all that easily.
-
1. If you have left Exch to use autoconfig for DC/GC discovery then it should discover the DC/GC in the site. 2. If you have excluded or configured static DC/GC then this may be a possible cause. 3. Make sure the 2nd DC is also a GC ALSO in the same AD site as Exch

Check disabled status of multiple mailboxes (and then Delete them)
sukh replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Enterprise Software
1. As you know you have rentension period for deleted mailbox, whatever you have set on your DB. 2. You will have to wait deleted items retension or you can change that setting to 0 -
1. You can coexist the roles with 2010 so I;d put all mbx/cas/hub across 2 servers for 650 users. Configure a CAS array and for CAS server use DAG for the MBX server.

Are you talking about the IE title bar, not sure what you mean, probably something straight forward, can you post a PIC showing what you would like changed?

1. Run the ExchRCA test and post output. - https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ 2. Do you use OA? or just OWA and EAS? 3. Does OWA work internally? 4. Is this an issue for all users or some? -

1. You can do something like this in AD - do a custom search - (&(UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)(msExchHomeServerName=*)(objectClass=User)) 2. Or simply just do a common queries, and select disabled account, then on the results, go to the view and add in the exch server columns 3. Or if you want to use powershell, quest have some simple and nice add-ins -
