  1. 1. Do you have a send connector on 2010 with an address space of *? 2. If yesm do you use dns or a smarthost for routing? 3. When did you replicate the PF over? 4. Run Get-PublicFolderStatistics > c:\pf.txt on 2010 (EMS) and check the item count/status compared to ESM 2003? 5. How big is your PF DB? 6. What command did you run to replicate the PF?
  2. 1. Your issue is probably that the DG has the authenticated users set on it, the gateway would be seen as anonymous and not authenticated. Uncheck this and test.
  3. 1. What did you transfer over ? The FSMO roles? 2. Exch canr discover your new GC. 3. How long has that GC been up for? 4. Is that GC working? Replication working? 5. Check event logs on that new GC. 6. Run ExchBPA and ADBPA and see what they come back with.
  4. What's the issue you;re having? Typical issue after applying a rollup would be OWA rendering or login issue. These are normally due to IIS VD config.
  5. 1. Did you create a send connector in 2010? 2. Do you use PF or not?
  6. PRF is thw way to do it, although Exch 2003/Outook is kind of old now. 2007/2010, then you would have benefits of autodiscover. They are abit behind. Maybe if you have time/budget, consider installing your own Exch on-prem or consider, Live@Edu if it meets your needs.
  7. Really depends on what products/technology/Vendor products you are using? Which ones are you're priority? Also, there are a number of forums and pay as you go services. However, this forum is quite good. If you have any Exchange related queries, you can ping me.
  8. Also note that going to live@edh wont give you the full feature set you get with on prem. You;re restrcited to what you can do. This does depend on your requirements.
  9. Try, install in the SMTP component again or create a new VS for SMTP and test using that
  10. for exch, you really want to backup the databases. Most of the other settings are in AD which will be recovered when using the /recover switch. I'd backup the systems state if you have any 3rd party certs but if you have this then dont worryy.
  11. You say your SMTP connector for Internet email uses DNS to resolve MX records right? Can you send/PM me the IIS logs for SMTP?
  12. 1. What do your IIS/SMTP logs say?
  13. I dont believe this is possible with OWA, only with Outlook.
  14. 1. Up the SMTP protocol logging to see what's happening on the protocol layer 2. Do you use DNS to resolve MX or a smarthost? 3. Hpw many SMTP connectors do you have?
  15. For Exchange, install this in the new Org i.e your vanilla domain. Change MX records for both smtp domains to the new exch server. If you need configure internal relay domain. Either use ADMT or export to PST and import.
  16. 1. Send an email from your Exch Org to hotmail and check your external IP (last hop from env). Then check you r PTR record. If you can, forward me your domain info and I'll check it for you. 2. Can you post/PM the NDR bt users get? 3. Up the logging on your receive connector on Exch 2010 to verbose and see what the logs say (reproduce the issue).
  17. 1. How many AD forests? 2. Which version of Exch?
  18. 1. Either use a 3rd part product like this IvaSoft - Outlook and Exchange solutions OR 2. Create multiple mailboxes and give the users send-as permissions so they can select this in the From: field.
  19. Make sure you have IWA on the OWA vDIR
  20. Deleting mailboxes wont reduce the physcial edb size, you will get whitespace in the edb which will be used as and when needed. Either do a defrag or create a new database and move the users across and then delete the old database. Doing this involves less downtime as with a defrag you have to tale the DB offline. Also, if you;re usiing a DAG, then you will have to reseed again.
  21. I suspect this is being set up internal URL when you join back on the LAN. If you test this with Outlook 2010, do you get the same behaviour?
  22. SPF wont be relevant if the message are sent internally, need to clarify if the message was internal>internal? What you need to do is. 1. Get message tracking logs from the Exchange server and analyse them 2. IF auditing is enabled, see if any send as permission were granted to this users mailbox. Again IF auditing in enabled to check if any admin modified this mailbox. Again IF auditing is enabled check to see when this object was last modified. 3. Check message headers of the messages in question.
  23. Could be that you need to export your mailbox items out to a PST and then create a new mailbox and import back in. Beofre you do that, try moving your mailbox to a new database and then test again?
  24. Depends on how far the indivdual want to take this. In fact, it depends on how and if the email are going to be used against him or not. If the evidence is with emails then dispute the authenticity. If one can't prove, then they cant be used.
  25. What I dont see is, if there is access to the env or not. It seems like this is from an Outlook end and the user doesnt work the company anymore. Therefore wouldn't have access to the Exch server. No you cant get the info.
