Hi all, Having a really weird issue with the video editor app where if we try to add add video it gives the error "video editor cannot import something went wrong" It seems to only do it when we have folder redirection in place. Does anyone know if video editor looks for a specific location that redirection could be messing up or able to offer any other advice. Thanks Dan

Morning all, We have recently setup a new network at three small PRU's and all their Shared Data is hosted in Sharepoint Online whilst their personal data on Onedrive. We also have a few VM's which host our Domain Controller and SIMS. What is everyone using to back these things up we are wanting to go cloud based ideally and have looked a Veam, Druva, and Arcserve but they all seem fairly pricey. Also interested if anyone is using like AWS, Azure etc and what clients they are using to upload to these. Thanks in advance. Dan

Just to let everyone know we have sorted it. Turns out it was because our machines were domain joined but not Hybrid Azure AD Joined via Azure AD Join. We found this by running dsregcmd /status in cmd, then we saw that AzureAdPrt under SSO was No. So we went back through and ensured the devices were hybrid Azure AD joined and it now works with portal.office.com. Seems if it's just domain joined sso only works with apps.microsoft. Thanks for everyones replies. Dan

Hey thanks for your reply. Your link does pick up our user and then signs them in when we click on their name. I guess the question is should just plain old portal.office.com sso on it's own. We use cloud drive mapper and apparently for it to SSO it needs to just work by going to portal. Hope that makes sense? Dan

Hi All, We currently are setting up a new system running Azure AD and have been having some issues with SSO. if we go to https://myapps.microsoft.com/ourdomain.org it sso's fine but when we go to portal.office.com or any .office.com domain it prompts for username once with give it that it picks up the password and signs in. What are we missing? We have SSO Enabled. We have the the following in our intranet sites autologon.microsoftazuread-sso.com aadg.windows.net.nsatc.net We have the following in trusted sites. *.sharepoint.com *.office.com *.microsoftonline.com We also have the user authentication set to automatically use username and password under each zone setting. Can anyone advice here as we are stumped? Cheers Dan

Hello everyone We are looking at going with Azure moving forward as we would like to go more cloudy. I just want to know if anyone has gone down this route, we are currently using SIMS and are unlikely to change due to local authority being very tied in and we are not to sure about moving SIMS to Azure just yet unless anyone has had good experiences doing so. We are also wondering what redundancy plans people have in place for example if we host our DC and the internet goes down what can be done?

Brand New Special School, Brand New Network but how?
dsmith8 replied to dsmith8's topic in How do you do....it?
As we have the opportunity to effectively to start from scratch we are in the same frame of mind about going cloud. We mainly use office apps and SIMS (wish they'd hurry up with a cloud product). We are mainly trying to find if anyone has done this what servers have they got etc. -
Hello Everyone, We are currently in the process of having a brand new 160 place special school built for us. This will see us build a brand new network as we currently piggy back of a secondary school we are sharing a site with running a RM CC4 network. We have our own SIMS server but and O365 but as this will be a completely new network we are exploring all our options particularly moving towards cloud. We have explored going the Google route etc but want to know if you had the opportunity to have a brand new from the ground up network what would you do. We have already explored a number of local schools who have said Google intrigues them but we want to make informed decisions so are looking at everything from Hybrid Cloud to Google maybe even changing MIS. Happy to have phone calls arranged etc.

We are in a very similar position having 160 place special school completing late 2020 so would love to open some dialogue with others in similar situations to see what they'd do if anyone would be happy for some email/calls?

Yeah I used to loved the toughbooks I used to have a CF-19 MK3 which was a great technician laptop as you could treat it mean just a shame the modern day spec versions are so pricey.
-
Yeah I'm thinking just pop it on eBay and move on was worth the research though, shame as these are cool machines and have things like a reservoir so that when water is spilled on the keyboard it drains.
-
3s-gtech I'm really doubting it's the CPU as I've taken an I3 from another RM Mobile One slid it in and it does the same thing (won't boot). Pop that I3 back in it's original machine and it boots fine. It's looking like some sort of lock but can't find any bios updates from RM it;s looking like these are built like ASUS A3F's though.
-
Hi Arthur, Yeah we have a few of the I3 versions but the I7 does not work in those either it does the same thing the bios versions are all the same.
-
Hey mhaddock, thanks for the reply. These are really good for us due to the ports and ruggedness and we thought since the i7's are not to expensive to get hold of we'd look at trying to upgrade them. Not having much luck though.

Hi fellow Edugeek's I have an RM Mobile One 310 Laptop I'm Trying to upgrade board serial WO58060202 MBD: H36YR It currently has an Intel Pentium P6200 Chipset: Intel HM55 Rev 06 On the spec sheet for the RM 310 it says it can support a i7 620m processor but when I install this and hit the power the fans spin for a second and it doesn't boot, I get the same results if I take an i3 from another Mobile One 310. However if I put the pentium back in it boots fine. I've tried removing the CMOS and power cycling but get no luck and I can't find any bios updates from RM it is however a American Megatrends inc 202 I will try to attach the CPU-Z Report for the machine and the RM Spec sheet any help will be much appreciated as I want this thing on an I7. Cheers Dan CPU Z Report.pdf RM_Mobile_One_Product_Fact_Sheet.pdf

Hey Everyone At our school we currently have a excel spreadsheet for tracking educational visits that all teachers can access and add their trip info which then gets merged across to a word document that they take out with them. Is there anyway to do this as a shared document on office 365 as we have been experiencing issues where users keeping getting the locked for editing message and we want to find a better way to do it. I know mail merge in O365 Online is not a thing right now? Thanks Dan
