Try signing in with the mobile number instead of the email as I remember this fixing it for me once, in addition it never sends the first SMS for me only the Resend option works after the 60 second timeout.

Online archive policy of any email older than X years gets moved there , for the free 50GB extra space. Power users might create a folder where emails inherit the archiving policy so they can makes sure it never gets deleted or moved. Otherwise I don't think many if any apply tags to their emails by hand. Need to make a policy to delete emails from the archive after X years as well

What @ditto said Very rough figure would say £5 per pupil in secondary school and £5,000 a year on top of that, plus initial set up costs, training and so on. https://assets.applytosupply.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk/g-cloud-14/documents/92647/909733380395847-pricing-document-2024-11-21-1116.pdf

Visitor/Student/Staff sign in systems - Inventry or SignIn or EntrySign?
robintech replied to MSGT's topic in General Chat
SigninApp has been very good but I've never used anything else , staff use the pre register visitors feature and also reception really like it for visitors signing themselves in and the badge printing. Only issues have been with the mobile app automatic sign in based on location but I think that's about the phone 99% of the time. Updates to the OS seem to reset app permissions and it has to have constant location data to trigger, i wish they'd drop it as a feature or let us disable it for users, we ask people to use the reminder feature of the app and sign in that way.- 31 replies

Seems unlikely but maybe 190 have set the "Follow in inbox" option and the rest haven't , then you can change the "Send copies of conversations to group members' inboxes" admin setting for the Group https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/create-groups/manage-groups?view=o365-worldwide#send-copies-of-conversations-to-group-members-inboxes

For the long duration of an exam and the conditions they are taken under with locked down devices it doesn't work well in my experience , dictating an email but not for several hours including extra time and this is with the online speech recognition offline is much more of a struggle. Some students get through fine for the entire season others with their intonation, pitch or speed of talking , too slow or fast starts to cause a feedback loop of frustration and anger, the occasional 10 second lag followed by a dump of text or worse "sorry I didn't get that", especially if they can't physically type for long periods of time. Almost makes it worse how fluid it can be followed by random issues which possibly relate to using it for so long in a row, think Microsoft start to question what's going on.

Bulk Convert Word files to PDF SharePoint Online
robintech replied to EssentialRug's topic in How do you do....it?
Power Automate can do it, should be a few guides online https://www.cloudbik.com/resources/blog/convert-word-to-pdf-power-automate/ -
I've only got DVI-I from some old Novatech computers but sure there must be someone on here with a load of the cables they don't need obviously you don't have to say but I'm fascinated by what they are being used for and why there are no existing cables

More companies getting hacked - Northface and Cartier
robintech replied to network41's topic in General Chat
Northface it sounds like they didn't do anything wrong -
personal choice I'd get a 5070ti and 32GB RAM, 5080 is 30% more money but maybe 15% performance

I mean reman or third party compatible toners cost more to recycle and final disposal than they get in materials, so it doesn't make sense to collect them for free. As part of a larger group of items as a loss leader kind of thing it makes more sense.

We have the same settings but no GPO , what does the cloud update have https://config.office.com/officeSettings/inventory/devices should show your Current channel or Monthly

We really need aircon for students taking exams or even day to day and staff as well, I find it difficult enough to concentrate when it's 28C let alone reaching near 40C we've had the past couple of years.

Cash has been actually very useful the last couple of times payment processors went down, water as well with outages in the area. Yes seems a bit pointless unless its a very localised small area, how are people going to cope at home with a multi day regional outage?

MSOnline now out of date, so cloud connect?
robintech replied to chazzy2501's topic in Cloud Services
What version do you have for Entra Connect , should show it on the Status page at the end https://admin.microsoft.com/adminportal/home?Q=entra#/modernonboarding/identitywizard Imagine its the PowerShell that connect uses that is expired https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/hybrid/connect/reference-connect-version-history#breaking-change-on-entra-connect-sync -
Freshdesk, our free version ending on June 09 2025
robintech replied to robintech's topic in Cloud Services
was hoping for something around £3 per agent a month , open source and self hosted might work but was hoping to move away from that . if there was something that did asset tracking and helpdesk might be worth £12 -
Edit: realised the end date may just be us, anyone else having their free plan ended? Wondering what people are moving to or purchasing, cheapest seems to be £12 p/m and then a 16% discount https://www.freshworks.com/freshdesk/pricing/

It seems to always struggle when deleting a large numbers of emails so I started using the policies and In Place Archive for the extra 50GB and putting the problem off for while or at least anything older than 2 years until we can decide on a retention/deletion policy. From that point on its all automated https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/set-up-an-archive-and-deletion-policy-for-mailboxes https://community.spiceworks.com/t/powershell-to-get-top-10-largest-mailboxes-in-o365/960876 If you're hybrid you have to set msExchArchiveName to the "In-Place Archive -Jane Doe"
