  1. Best become a sponsor then @jon-senso I reckon the outlay will pay hefty dividends
  2. Spare a thought for my school we still have a fair number of iPad 2s!
  3. I did so as well. Just raised a case with O365 support and they walked me through the Powershell steps to do it.
  4. I also encountered this sporadic beastie. I resolved it by downloading the appropriate IE 11 from the Microsoft Site, going into IE Settings / Security Settings / Custom Leve / and allowing most of the default unallowed options in there, Into Advanced and doing the same there. Restarting IE with those newly applied settings then I was able to run IE 11 install okay.
  5. Turned out that the issue was with .net framework 3.5 not being installed this website proved to have the answer.
  6. Recently I've found that new installs (and one from a few months ago) aren't picking up updates. I've run troubleshooter but to no avail?
  7. Thanks are duly given for your reply @Passat1983ICTech Yes, been that route with one. Even to the extent of switching to an HDMI cable. Still no joy. View Profile: Passat1983ICTech - EduGeek.net
  8. We have two Hitachi CP-A222WNMEF projectors and both are suffering from a flickering display. The first one was swapped out under warranty - twice and that seemed to resolve the issue in the first place but the flicker came back. I thought the issue was fixed when I saw on a forum that someone else had had the same problem with a similar projector which they resolved by changing the power socket which it was plugged into. Tried that and it worked for a week with one projector but the flipping flicker is back. The second one has a new bank of high mounted sockets so tried the same on that one and it didn't make any difference at all. Naturally both are out of warranty now as well!
  9. I'm trying to transfer from one iPad to another but it's balking saying the password is incorrect but it's not? I've tried it on two workstations logged into the iTunes account now. Backup and sync run okay. Plug the second iPad in and tell it to restore from the device setting and after a few seconds it pops up telling me the password is incorrect but I know it's the right password?
  10. We have had similar proxy issues. Hopefully now resolved after running RSOP on a client and discovering that the proxy was being picked up from multiple places in Group Policy.
  11. MODs. Please move, if this isn't in the right Thread. I'm trying to install an ASUS Radeon R5 230 HDMI Graphics card to a Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge 71 (MT-M-1577-N8G). My first attempt, following the multi-language instruction, failed with the PC not even booting up. I'm thinking that perhaps I need to alter something in the BIOS before trying again?
  12. Fab, thanks were duly given, in advance @minimoo
  13. + 1 Joomla and if you want to take the hard work out of it at a very reasonable cost - including maintenance and hosting I can highly recommend Steve Hill of this patch. I'll let Steve chime in with his handle.
  14. Our current Impero 3 year support contract comes to an end in December this year. Overall we have been absolutely delighted with it. We are now looking for quotes (by PM to me please) for renewal of Impero or competitor product. 170 clients. 35 FTE staff. Mindful that budgets are about to be set there is some urgency!
  15. There's a useful thread on her about that - somewhere. We did it by setting up a machine to run XP then It's a case of downloading Group Policy Maintenance to that machine and you should be able to see the settings through that.
  16. I feel a fool for doing it but even though I'm contracted for under 30 HPW I give a 24/7 365 day a year service. I used to be able to reclaim reasonable OT at time and a half but that got kicked into touch. Any OT now has to be 'sanctioned' and I am allowed to claim back the hours at time-off but never actually get the chance to do so as I always seem snowed under. Maybe this could be moved behind the RD?
  17. We explored Hosted SIMS a while ago and seeing as it was in its infancy decided to stay ground based. Can anyone out there using it offer feedback on how it's panning out, please?
  18. Champion - that worked a treat. QUOTE=tmoon-mint;1560188]Is there a profile installed that is pushing Wi-Fi settings? If so try removing it and then connect again.
  19. I'm trying to set up an iPad for a new teacher that a previous teacher .was using with no issues. Finding an issue getting it to accept the sslfilter.proxy.swgfl.org.uk with port 8080 though. Never had this issue before but now when I go to the wireless setting and populate that proxy information in the Manual option it looks like it's accepted it but then trying to open a browsing session it fails. Going back into the Manual box the information has gone. Any ideas, please? I'm wondering if it's a case of getting the googlessl certificate installed on an external Wireless connection might be needed as this issue has only appeared post the deployment of the new RM ssl certificate.
  20. Bumpety, bump. Anything on this one please dear Edugeekers?
  21. I don't feel this is an Impero related issue. Just had the black screen on a W10 Edu 1607. Forced to do a hard restart nd it, thankfully came back up again okay.
  22. Mods please move to somewhere more appropriate if you don't feel this is the right place to post this question. We have a 'new' teacher who is seeking voice recognition software to use for special Needs English. I've pointed her in the direction of Dragon but budgets aren't coughing up for that. Currently, our student machines don't have Google Chrome onboard. Teacher workstations do. I'm being asked to make Google Chrome available on our Server 2012 / W7 domain; were I to do that what are the basic steps I'd need to take to make it secure? we are under SWGfL filtering. Plus the teacher tells me: ...found a free piece of software that is accessed through Google Chrome with regards voice activation. You need to access it through Google Chrome and this must be running to use. Once you download it to your Google Chrome you activate by accessing the Apps icon in the top right hand corner and this will then give you access to all the Google Apps installed. Any thought's on that, please? My immediate thought being that surely to access anything through the Google Apps the user would need to be signed in with a Google account?
  23. Not a lot of help I suspect; I just ran updates post the repair.
  24. Had the same issue with one teacher using both Excel and Word 2013. Did a repair in Programmes and Features and then an update. So far no further reports of the issue.
  25. We have a BTEC PE exam coming up next week so I thought I'd test our set up. Oopsie! Logged onto Administrator fine but it wouldn't accept a new teacher I was trying to set up. went onto an Invigilator machine and that wouldn't accept the invigilator's existing credentials. So; uninstalled our old V4 and reinstalled the current V5. Only to find it won't allow the Administrator to log in now. Pearson Tech support is being very helpful but if anyone has the experience they can share that would be appreciated. We are behind hte SWGfL ssl proxy filter.
