So I followed these steps: 1. **Open Your Project in Visual Studio**: Make sure you have your Visual Studio project open. 2. **Make the Change**: Edit the `.aspx.vb` file to make the required change. 3. **Save the File**: Save the changes you made to the file (`Ctrl + S` or `File > Save`). 4. **Build the Project**: - **Rebuild the Entire Solution**: Go to `Build > Rebuild Solution` to rebuild the entire project. This will ensure that all changes are compiled and included. - Alternatively, you can select `Build > Build Solution` if you only want to compile the changes without cleaning the entire solution. 5. **Run the Project**: Once the project is successfully rebuilt, you can run it by pressing `F5` (Start Debugging) or `Ctrl + F5` (Start Without Debugging). This will start your web application, and the changes in the `.aspx.vb` file should now be reflected. Once this was done I then went to Build and then Publish but it then errors out on the IIS site. Any suggestions as I feel I am nearly there but no experience of Visual Studio I feel like I am missing something.

So its hosted on an internal IIS server, i just edited the file on the server in visual studio. I did the build bit but not publish maybe this is where have gone wrong. I have a snapshot of the server I can revert back to if I need to for this purpose and ease as I did break it the other day when looking. Will review in the morning @Bedders, thanks for your assistance so far, will let you know how I get on.

We have an intenal website that has been designed in visual studio, the SMTP host has been hard coded into it, so it should just be a case of updated and rebuilding the project but its not updating and still using the old host. Is there anything else I need to do when updating a project? I'm no coder and have inherited the issue with no documentation but worked out what needs changing but just cannot get it to work. Any suggestions?

I do consider HP kit but I find it expensive (based on eBuyer) when buying odd machines, never had an issue thought with Dell kit but never used it en mass. Dell Latitude and Optiplex have served us well, the Lenovo ThinkPad I think they are there is technically nothing wrong just don't think its the right fit for what we use but we do have several thousand laptops out there since Covid. Engineers complain that there is lots of bits they cannot swap as its all Lenovo where as Dell would send parts out, the finish on Lenovos I don't like, marks very easy and you get that greasy print all over them. I suppose support may vary in different part of the country but we do see engineers several times a week purely down to the number of devices we have, cannot fault engineers from the little experience I have with them.

We have used Dell for years but moved to Lenovo some time back, the support is shocking. Our hand had been forced and in a good way and we have moved back to Dell. Having used Dell for nearly 20 years I cannot fault them. The Lenovo kit was ok but support was shocking and the quality poor in places but would use them at home and do recommend them as they are slightly cheaper at times but Dell for corporate all the way.

Pros and cons with both, have used both, only thing lacking is support with Unifi you are on your own and the cost if one breaks you just replace no warranty swap as such as its usually out its period when it does. Aruba slightly better kit maybe, but you pay for it. Neither to be avoided, weigh up the pros and cons of both.

So an update on this as I am finally getting up to date with things, I use ACDSee for photo editing, have done for years and it works, I happened to look at the latest version yesterday and I can geotag from within that now, so I can do all my edits etc in one place, plus it had some AI bits and bobs for editing which may be handy, cost me next to nothing to upgrade too which made it the easy choice. I can now edit, tag and geotag everything in one place.

Can recommend Manage Engine, there is a free trial up to 25 devices I think. One of the best products I've ever used.

Depends on your setup, if you force your clients to say have DNS of Google then you would need to allow that out, depends on your setup.

TCP:80, TCP:443 and UDP:53 for DNS unless they can use an internal DNS will give you plain internet access. I would look at UDP:123 for time, any email ports such as TCP587, 465, 993, 995 for any email client. VPN ports if any VPN's are needed such as UDP500 and UDP4500, UDP1701. Any voice ports such as 5060 if any voice clients are needed and then Teams such as 3478 and the various ports that it uses with the specific destination noted, all found on Microsoft's website. Depends on the use of that network but you need to consider what is been used like Google Drive, OneDrive, Teams, Zoom if it uses bespoke ports.

To turn the pattern on or off you need to do it with a monitor and mouse plguged in to the NVR.

We binned Chrome off some time ago, constantly flagging with security updates, everything works in Edge so we did that when we binned IE. If anyone does require Chrome we install it or Firefox. We are probably down to less than 20 machines with 2 browsers on now there isn't the need. - - - Updated - - - Although I will add I still use Chrome at home but its down to personal preference.

All good and well have something mobile data based but what if there is no signal?

Have you picked the phone up and tried calling rather than just emailing? Do you have your account mangers number you can call direct on too?

Clonezilla. You can boot from CD/USB and then dump the file to a network location or hard drive.

I installed some PN-65SC1 at a school back in 2018 I wasnt blown away by it but it was well built, it was heavy so you need to be mindful where you are installing. Not up to date with the current range but they were installed in KS1 about 1ft off the ground so kids could use them, never had any issues in the 2 years before I left. Not sure on costings but must have been reasonable as they bought 3 of them.

Who is accessing it and can is be done on the LAN without the need for internet remote desktop services? Could VNC be an alternative?

I'd get everything setup as you want it domain wise, then add a trust between new domain and existing then you can slowly migrate them ove. Obviosuly need to get your network routing in place first to your data centre if you are hosting the local domain in house. Would certinally look at tools for data migration will be far easier than manually. You will need to scope out everything locally that is domain access that may need reconfiguring etc.

Nursing staff are just the same if not worse! The amount of damages we get from clinical staff is unreal really, most of our estate is laptops now rather than desktops.

To be honest I've used various bits of their stuff and always been impressed with it. It's defiantly at the lower end market but fits the bill ideally for what I needed it for. Just a few things that are not as easy as they should be but I suppose you get what you pay for, not the end of the world was just pushing it to its limits I suppose! So far so good.

Anyone using the TPLink Omada kit, specifically the router? I've recently installed it along with some AP's and the controller and its absolutely spot on, the router has the features but is lacking in some areas but still better than an ISP router. The only issue so far I have is with putting static routes on to send traffic to a specific external IP wondered if anyone had tried it?

Can you not conact them via the details on the website?
