I appreciate what you're saying, but I don't see how anybody can brand something as vape detecting if it alerts to non vapes. Unless you have a camera in the area, with sound, we can almost never assume the accuracy of these products. If students get wind of this fault, they have a golden ticket to carry those around and just say they used that. Although a bag search could verify that they have a vap on them I suppose. But students are savy and will hide them in other places. I'm giving this feedback to a member of LT tomorrow, who will ultimatley decide whether we go ahead with getting more of these. Unifi came back with the below, which is more or less what is on there setup page. What you're seeing can occur because the sensor detects airborne aerosols, and some antiperspirant or deodorant sprays produce aerosol signatures that can resemble vape emissions. As a result, certain brands may trigger a vape alert. (For reliable vape detection, install the sensor 2–2.5 m (6.6–8.2 ft) high in smaller or semi-enclosed spaces and away from direct airflow. In enclosed spaces, the sensor can typically detect rapid vape events within several meters of the source. Exact performance influenced by room size and ventilation levels. To minimize false positives, avoid installing the sensor near sources of airborne aerosols or vapors, including: * Air fresheners and fragrance diffusers * Aerosol sprays and cleaning products * Humidifiers and steam sources * Areas with frequent dust or particulate disturbances The sensor performs best in locations where vaping activity is likely to occur and where airflow does not rapidly dilute or redirect airborne particles before they reach the sensor. He did say he would feed this back to the team, and then closed my ticket. So probably won't do anything about it.

Hi all, I'd like to add my 2 cents in. We've been running these in 2 toilets in our secondary. At first, very impressed. Testing with vapes ourselves, and actual cases with students, we have caught many who admit to vaping as soon as we say we know it was them from a sensor and via camera outside toilets correlating with times. For alerting, I didn't want to create Unifi accounts for the heads of year, so we utilised a share mailbox and power automate to forward emails to the correct contacts. That works very well. We were going to do webhooks to go into Teams, but powerautomate insists on premium license to do this. If anyone has a workaround for this, please share It was all sunshine and rainbows, until we discovered this week that antiperisprant can set them off. A student who was accused was horrified and then proved that it was his antiperisprant that set it off (Rock Face). I then tested this with another brand (Right Guard) which also set it off. Pretty much makes the product useless as if students get wind of this fault, they will just start carrying those around and claiming they sprayed that. As per unifi's guidance, i am testing the sensitivity slider to see if I can get it to stop these positives. Although initial findings it doesn't make a difference and still sets them off. I have a ticket with them awaiting feedback from the team.

So you want the primary SMTP the UPN? Should be fine to change UPN, it's no different from doing a name change if someone gets married. Make sure the format in proxyaddresses is: SMTP:[email protected] smtp:[email protected] It's case sensitive. Obviously test and confirm.

In the exact same situation as you. I've just become so unhappy with Securly. We've had demos from a lot of different filtering providers, Lightspeed is the one that excites me the most and I imagine we'll go with. It ticks all the boxes. I suggest getting a demo from them.

Unifi Training Courses - Who has done them? Review?
Noxid_w replied to Noxid_w's topic in Wired Networks
That's good to know. I'm looking to do that course as we are moving Unifi out to the rest of our MAT and I could see it being useful if we start looking at site to site VPN connections, Sd-Wan, self hosting network controllers in azure etc. would say this course would help gives you the knowledge to do that? -
Unifi Training Courses - Who has done them? Review?

Specifically looking at this one if anyone is interested Ubiquiti UniFi Routing, Switching And Cybersecurity Admin -
I'm considering the Unfi URSCA training. Full title, Ubiquiti UniFi Routing, Switching And Cybersecurity Admin. As we are now full Unifi, I'm don't want to rely on external consultants and really dive deep into the infrastructure. Anyone completed this course or similar unifi courses?
-
Been back now for 10 minutes. That's over 4 hours we've been down. Not a good experience. Will be interested to hear from Arbor what has happened.
-
Anyone gotten in back yet? Still nothing for us. I have found a document called Service Charter which lists what appears to be their SLA. I'll attach for everyone to peruse. They expect to not be down for more than 2 hours. We are at 3 hours and 50 minutes and counting. https://support.arbor-education.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/22153540241437

I know I'm not the only school. Anyone else affected this morning? Been nearly 2 hours. Anyone aware of what Arbor's SLA agreement is?
