Hi, Im trying to create an excel spreadsheet (2007) where i can create a button an assign a macro to it to open different software. For example click the button on the spreadsheet and it opens Sim.exe! Can this be done and if so how? Cheers not that good with excel

Afternoon, Have a problem with a new notebook, its running windows 7 (starter, out of the box). Has ie8 installed however no active x will run. Here is what i have tryed so far: 1. install firefox, delete ie8, reinstall ie8. 2. tools - internet options - security - custom level - and enabled the active x taps 3. my computer - services - start active x control any other ideas? has to be ie8 because its our standard here!!!! and ie7 will not run on windows 7!

Started a thread like this myself a while back main things that came from it were: try to open it in open office try to open the file in an ie browser make sure you are opening it in the correct version of office if it was made in 2003, try open in 2007 (worked on one of my files) other than that download.com have a few one off free programs but can only recover one file! i'm currently looking for one to buy so if I get it shortly ill pm you and try recover the file with the new software!

I think it has something to do with funding; I am still classed as a full-time student(although without the student grant this year) but get discount on council tax, my student extra card discounts, on full pay; not bad!! I did a placement year, still got my loan, free council tax, and all other student deals.... Further to this a mate at uni did his placement year part-time and this was fine! Must be different uni's with different rules.

you can use a simple tool called windows migration tool that is on your windows 7 disk if you have one? if not can be downloaded from microsoft. Well ive bought the book, got the software, found some free video's! all that is left now is to study and take the exam in 3 weeks..... Enterprise is the one we use, but 2003 had no luck with 2007! i'll be interested to see you can get it fully up and running....

Cheers for all the advice been looking for serial numbers all day no one has found them yet..... I am right in thinking if the police do find them, there will be no way of them knowing there ours????

well just home after some laptops have gone "missing" more like stolen.... we wont claim on the insurance excess is to high, police arn't bothered at all either! My main question is we know the serial numbers or the range of serial numbers we have over 700 laptops here and the one in question did not have a asett sticker on it.... (someone is in the s!!!t tomorrow) but if the police find it, how will it get traced backed to us? can it get traced back? Cheers

have you got a xp pro cd? If so boot up with that and run the repair function on there!

Probally be something to do with the proxy your working under! do they nornamlly block things like youtube ect? if so then i'd say the proxy server!
