oh and can not take him to court until the council has done a 30 screen test of you property joke i know! If you do go, the county court will just throw it out straight away, went to see a solictor on the matter and paid £25 for letter to be sent to the property which will probally turn up today!

Thanks again guys! Bit of an update.... Finally got hold of the guy upstairs sat down with him and had a bit of a "meeting" told him what i wanted and was not going to move on it or would go down the council, landlords and police route (police man told me, if i said it was a noise problem they would not turn up BUT if i said there was about to be a breach of the peace happening if you did not turn up they would and make them turn the music off) Since monday night like clock work the music has gone off at 10pm not ideal listening to his music till 10pm every night but better than listening to it from 4pm till 6am the next day. On the plus side he also told me he has 3 mates staying with him for a while and has beds in there for them, so if it starts again he is in breach of his contract with the landlord and maybe the council because its a one bedroom flat.... Have to see where it goes from here.

Cheers for the advice, just got off the phone to the landlord who says they'll send them a letter, if no luck by friday another letter, early next week no improvement final letter! Can't really ask for more but we'll see if they stick by it. One bed flat with at least 5 of them staying there..... and im paying council tax for what? council want nothing to do with it.

Morning everyone, Well seems like the afternoon to me been at work since 0545 and up all night. I am having big problems with the neighbours and there music!!! been played between the hours of 2am to 9am everynight since thursday........ Im getting to the end of my paitance now! Council - we'll go around at a selected date and time to look into it police - its the council who sort it (you'll come around quickly enough if i drag him out of his flat thought wont you????????? eh yes!!! What i have done is banged alot, gone around everynight to no reply or people just looking out of the window and looking away.... have wrote to them, the council and there landlord.... 3 years ago when i was a student i'd have sorted it one way or another but now I just cant do this esp with my girlfriend living with me. any help or tips welcome Thanks a very knackered Richard

This may seem straight forward for some, but I have been in IT now for 3 years after leaving university and wondering whats next? how do I progress... What qualifications should I be looking at gaining? I have my mcp in xp, ITIL in service management.... But in the company/college I am working in there is no way up, so its looks like its time to "jump ship" I am aiming to leave for either a network manager role in a school or to a service desk manager within business... Whats certs do you guys recon I should be getting? (currently working in a college with over 10,000 users, 1000 pc's, 20+ virtual servers, thin clients, windows xp, server 2003, 2008, moodle VLE inplace, remote access from home, work van and mobile phone on £19,000) should I just stay and gain more exp? I am only 24? Any thoughts would be great Thanks

could be an overloaded power supply , had an HP a while back with a really quite beeping during start up tried everything and changed the bios battery and it stopped! Odd one tho

Afternoon all, I have a tutor that had a corrupt usb stick, I have recovered her files but a few of the Word files (2003) are corrupt! I have used some software on the net that recovers the first paragragh for me, so I know it can be recovered, but it costs another $399 to get the rest!!!! Is there any software out there that will do the whole document for free? and if so can you send me a link. Thanks -edit- and used the repair function, open office saving as a HTLM file...

Evening guys and girls just been having a mess around with this tool.... two things... firstly you can name the folder anything you want i.e admin folder then the string! secondly when you save this folder on your usb pen and access it on a win7 pc i.e in a computer room everything WORKS... even with group policies in place! Having a little play to stop it before the lovely kids find this out! EDIT - stand corrected was using a power user account, only very small things still work like display settings... but still could be a worrie! Also asks for the admin log in details to carry on if the GP stops you, not a access denied message, kids could be locking out some admin accounts!

Had a problem a little like this one a while back, problem was with the cable lengh from the smart board to the pc? Was like a 15metre cable for a distance of 1 metre, I changed the cable and was fine! (and before anyone says "must have been the cable" it was was'nt tested alot of 15metre cables all never worked) This may be no use to you what so ever, but might be!

Used to have the problem loads here, we sorted by doing two things: Making sure the software was installed with a local admin account, then running the software with an administrator account on the network! Seemed to solve it!
