Great Thanks. If someone saves a file in One Drive, but the SharePoint folder section, if that person leaves and their account gets deletes, will the file still be in SharePoint?

I was asked the other day by a teacher at a different school if their SharePoint folders can be listed in onedrive desktop app. I only work in Google based schools so couldn't answer, although I would guess it's no different from Google's desktop app, which does display shared drives and my drive folders.

I know Arbor (MIS) has an option to sync with Google built in. If you are using SIMS, I believe there are options, perhaps Wonde does this.

If you hold down the shift key and right click on a folder that has missing files inside, you should get some extra context menus under the google section of the right click menu, one of these is re-sync (from memory) This doesn't seem to work on Windows 11 Edit, if that doesn't list the extra context menu, let me know and ill double check the steps Edit, this is assuming you are using the G drive, not the online version of Google drive

We also backup the staff emails. Don't think that would work if they were being replied to from a different system.

that worked, thanks. I have always done the routing through the Google Workspace > Gmail > Default routing page. Didn't even know about Google Workspace > Gmail > Routing >...... for doing this type of thing. Which method should I use if I just want to forward emails from one Gmail account to another (finance@ to user@), without needing to delete the emails, as I have always used Default routing for that.

Also got a good few messages from other schools saying similar.

So the head really wants to view her emails in outlook, not Gmail.Both Google and Office 365 were setup using the school's free default domain. So forwarding from Google - [email protected] to Outlook365 - [email protected] is not going to be possible, as the MX record is active for just one domain.Would adding another domain work? not really something I want to do for just one user to look at their emails but hahoAny other ways?

Is it possible to forward an email from one Gmail account to the other and then delete the original email using the Google Workspace admin GUI? I have a routing rule setup in Apps > Gmail > Default routing, but cant find a way to delete the email once its been forwarded.

I used to use a Google forms, it worked really well. I stopped using it because some users would still email me, so I just asked everyone to email me instead.

I gave the new head a demo of Gmail and all the Google apps and she seems happy using Gmail now :-)

Hi all, The school is a Google school, they use Gmail, and all the other Google apps including Google drive / shared drives. New head has just started and their first request is...... Can I open my Gmail emails in Outlook. While I believe this is technically doable, I was wondering what you all thought of this are? Will it cause complications, will they lose functionality? Reading the MS steps, it simple says the user needs to login to Outlook with their Gmail account. Will the fact the school does have 365 accounts already (only used for Teams, nothing else) and the 365 accounts use the same domain name as their Google Workspace accounts cause an issue? cheers

Might not help you, but I had to remove the SIMS Setups folder from our file level backup software, as this would cause loads of errors, especial downloaded updates. What I did in the end was remove the entire SIMS folder from the file level backup software, then use a script to copy the SIMS folder to another location during the night, and backup that folder.

Just wondering if you push this out via GPO? If so, I assume it takes a while as it uninstalls the old version of Office first, how do the staff get on with the process, do you give them a heads up first?

We have a Ukrainian pupil that has just been given a Chromebook. I need to give him access to the on-screen keyboard but the only way is to open the settings cog, but we have that disables. Is there anyway for us to open the on screen keyboard without giving the pupil access to the Chromebook settings pages?

At some point it would have been worth a lot more than the $1500, did you take out your original amount so its 'free money' from that point on. I always invest then take out my original amount after its gone up. If it goes down I just wait.

A teacher has contacted me to say the pupils are switching between desktops to pretend they are working on their Chromebook. I have had a scan of the admin settings but cant see any settings to disable desktop switching. Does anyone know of a way?

Hi, Both his 365 and Google accounts use the same credentials. Both use [email protected] Is that what you mean?
