  1. Hmmmm Just fully uninstalled SQL 2012 (ticked all options to be removed) and it still gets listed as an instance in SQL manager. Any ideas?
  2. I recently set this up at a school. When I set it up it wanted the school phone number. After a few days Apple called the school.
  3. I look after a number of primary schools. Once everything is setup with ASM and Mosyle it's basically fire and forget. If an iPad then ever needs resetting up, its just a case of clicking reset in Mosyle and that's basically it. You don't even need to be onsite do do this. If you get the iPads and they are not already enrolled in ASM, its a real pain to then add them later. I assume you could even have them in ASM but not use any MDM if that's what you wanted.
  4. So on a test VM, I uninstalled just the Database engine services and SQL server, but when I opened SQL database manger it still listed the 2012 instance. Clicking on this then gave an error message. Is this normal? I am going to try uninstalling everything on my test vm next.
  5. Alternatively, the Senco could create the folder in Google Drive and share that with the pupil / teacher. Then all the pupil would need to do is drag the shared folder into their my drive. This would also mean the Senco is the owner of the drive.
  6. Guess that depends how many pupil the Senco intends to work with. If the senco doesn't want this as an option, and shared drives will expose the pupils work, which of my two Google Classroom options would be best? adding the senco to each of the classrooms already created or creating a new senco classroom? Also, if we did go down the Classroom route, can a pupil open G docs and save that file into Google Classroom, or do they need an assignment set first?
  7. The Senco at a small primary school wants to use the few Chromebooks they have with some SEN pupils. What she wants is, if they write something in Gdocs she wants to be able to read it from her laptop and perhaps print it out. The teachers / pupils do have Google Classroom setup, but this is used very minimally, for the odd bit of homework. The Senco also wants the teachers to be able to see what the pupils have created. I got the feeling the Senco wouldn't want to us Google Classroom to assign any work, she just wants to tell the pupil to write something and then have access to that work. So, do I assign the Senco to each for the Google Classrooms already setup? Create a new Senco classroom and assign the pupils / teachers to this? Just create new shared drives for each of the classes?
  8. Well they all just magically started to display the other photos.
  9. Reception class have just gone from Androids to iPads. They have 3 iPads that the teacher has signed into all off them as the same user. They are using Google photo and have the app installed on the iPads. When she takes a photo on one it syncs the photos to Google photos cloud, but if she then uses a different iPad, Google photos only displays the photos that have been taken on that iPad, not the other iPads, even though Google photos cloud displays all the photos from each iPads. She says they always synced up and down to each tablet when they were using Androids. Any ideas?
  10. I have had 3 answers and 3 different options :-) leave it remove just the Database engine services and SQL server remove everything Unless anyone chimes in, think I will go with the middle option. Thanks
  11. If there is anything major, it will normally get added to the intro blurb of the thread to save you reading loads. I also found it useful to put the thread into newest posts first, so I was only reading the current issues.
  12. No, they installed SQL 2016 alongside 2012.
  13. Hi all, At some point the LA migrated SIMS etc from SQL 2012 to SQL 2016. I have just noticed that SQL 2012 was never uninstalled. On a test server, I am running through the SQL 2012 uninstall process, but not sure which of the following check boxes I should tick or leave un- ticked? Hoping someone more knowledgeable can help :-)
  14. Hi, Google has removed the recording feature from Meet and we need a few teachers (not all, about 5) to be able to record their meetings. Is the cheapest way to do this, to add the Teaching and Learning Upgrade? Should I do this through the Google Workspace admin GUI or via a reseller? EDIT - should I also add this license to my admin account?
  15. Oh, we use "Less Secure Apps" so FMS can send its BACS emails. :-(
  16. OK, if the deeds say it her fence.... The fence in your garden is your property, she still needs to put in a new fence on the boundary. We had two fences at our old house, the previous owner was a nightmare apparently, so they ended up in a similar situation.
  17. And that one bit of information will make all the difference. Thanks :-)
  18. Are you getting that cheap price as you went through a reseller? The standard price per license on the Google website seems to be £15 on the standard
  19. @rogerdnixon Thanks, that is really helpful. There seems to be 3 versions of Google Voice, Starter, Standard & premier, which would you recommend?
  20. Out of interest, are there any schools using Google Voice?
  21. is the issue with just one user? what are those shares like if the users logs in from a different laptop?
  22. I have forwarded this on to the school.
  23. Would this work? If they only had proper handsets (no phone apps) and those were just using 'special user accounts', like handset 1, handset 2 etc, we would only need 12 accounts for those phones.
  24. I have a primary school that currently has no hard line phone system due to a damaged cable last week, although they are getting by with a mobile phone. The current supplier wants to install a complete new system, which I think will include digging up a lot of the ground. Very quickly looking at alternatives and remembered Google Voice. As we are already using Google in the school this could be an option, but I know nothing about phone systems. They just have a main line number and then about 10 internal phones around the school. Have any other schools used Google Voice?
