  1. Hi, Last week I migrated from 2012r2 to 2019. All OK, no errors. Turned the older 2012r2 server off for a few days and all OK Today I demoted the 2012R2 server, removed the DC role and then the DNS role. I had no errors. When I look in DNS on the new server it still has the 2012r2 server listed as a 'name server'. It is also listed under the _msdcs.?????.lan sections. Is this normal?
  2. What would you do for all current clients, if you need to get a new copier on the network?
  3. I am no longer at the school but just had a call from the copier engineer to say he returned to the school as he had an idea. He has set the name and IP of the new copier to the one used on the old copier (similar or same drivers) and everyone is now printing through the new copier. While this is not a fix, it does give me time to test out the ideas posted above.
  4. Hi, even get this issue on our Windows 12 with Nov updates, so its not this. I do now remember having to do this at another school. Ill give this a go later, Thanks Ill check later. I take it type 4 is better?
  5. Hi, This primary school has just had a new MFD copier, its a Kyocera TASKalfa 6054ci. Myself and the engineer connected it to the network with static IP, Installed the drivers onto the print server and set it to shared via AD. Test print from server was fine. When I try to add the printer from a client by pushing it from GPO the client just hangs. So I deleted the GPO for now. If I open printer options on client, then click 'add printer' and click on the printer, it returns the following error. Printer error #740 Searched online and tried lots of different options. The following did work but is not practical. In CMD prompt type this = rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /il This then opens a different printer GUI with all the printers listed, clicking on the printer then installed the drivers. Obviously the above is not a workable option for the staff and the copier engineer will not help as it is printing from our printer server. The copier company are coming to remove the old copier in a day or two, and this is the schools only printer, so I need to get this fixed asap. EDIT - I am logged onto the client computer as local admin. Any ideas?
  6. I have a nice new Apple School Manager and Mosyle system to get setup. I have the teachers in ASM. I have printed off their Apple IDs & passwords. What I want to do is, turn on the iPad, join the WiFi, enter Apple ID and password, then automatically get Mosyle to install its management app and assign the iPad to the teachers profile. I also want it to list the teachers apple ID when I look at the iPads properties in Mosyle management GUI. I have got the first part working which is to ask the teacher to sign in with there Apple ID, but the device just stays in limbo in Mosyle. Any ideas?
  7. Sent another email, still nothing back from Apple, so just called them. Originally they said that I need to speak to Google, so called them. Google said that Apple need to supply the correct Workspace settings based on their product, so called Apple back. Got transferred around the houses, eventually got through to someone that understood Apple would need to supply me with the correct details, but he needed to pass this over to another department and I would need to send over screen recordings of the issue etc, at this point I stopped him and said not to bother, its been going on for too long now, I needed to hand out the iPads to the staff last week, and it will be much simpler for me to just type in each user directly into ASM.
  8. Hi all. Had a few teachers saying that the apps installed onto the pupils Chromebooks are on old versions. The apps are from the android play store. Am I meant to manually update the apps or should this be automatic? Cheers
  9. I am new (ish) to this also. First, if you are a school you will want Apple School Manager, not business. What I have done is migrate our iPads out from AC2 and into ASM. I can then add any apple apps via ASM and no longer need AC2.
  10. Just reading the links in other posts and noticed this at the start of one... I have already setup 365 (and Workspace) with our domain as primary. Do I need to change this?
  11. Perhaps Federated is not what I am after. Will federating from Google to MS mean I have a list of the users in Azure AD? Basically a copy of the users in both systems (same username, email address and same password). Or do they sign-in to a MS system, but Google authenticates the user, but Azure doesn't have those users listed. The reason I am asking is, even though we are a Google Workspace school I will eventually want our users laptops to login to the cloud, not our onsite AD server. And I will probably need in-tune & Azure AD to manage those devices and users. Perhaps someone can enlighten me what I actually need to achieve this.
  12. Are the steps you followed similar to the steps linked above? Can you post the steps if not.
  13. Sent Apple an email asking for an update last night, but had nothing back yet :-(
  14. This might be a dumb question, but both of those links go over user provisioning from Workspace to Office 365, would those users then also be in Azure AD?
  15. We have all our users in G Workspace, but also have a need for users to be able to access some MS cloud features. As I understand it, the best (simplest) way is to get Azure to grab our current G Workspace users and authenticate against those. It seems that lots of forums posts are about going from Azure to Workspace, and I am wondering if anyone on Edugeek has gone from Workspace to Azure?
  16. Dell can send out a replacement screen. You need to go through their support process, which is a bit of a pain, but eventually they can invoice the school for a new screen and send it out. EDIT, should add, doing it through Dell means the screen will be an exact correct version for the Chromebook
  17. Our LA are still charging us for SIMS licences (discounted) even though we no longer use SIMS, as they insist on us using FMS, and our LA supply both as a single package. NIGHTMARE
  18. Sumsung have some very good discounts on their gaming monitors. 32" G32A FHD, 165Hz Odyssey Gaming Monitor = £189 All monitors - https://www.samsung.com/uk/offer/black-friday/#/monitors
  19. So I am a bit stumped :-( I could create a new Domain Wide Delegation, using the 'client_id:' and 'scope: openid' from the original error message, but I am not sure if this is the correct way to go about this. The last time I needed to create or change something in the Workspace API section, the third party company had proper steps to follow to get their software connected to Google Workspace, so why doesn't Apple do the same. If someone doesn't have an answer, I'll probably push this to one side and move on.
  20. Chromebooks or iPads would be a good option.
  21. Managed to get the login box to display by opening ASM in incogneto browser mode, but get the following error Ill have a look at the client ID api or Domain wide delegation later, as it must be something to do with that.
  22. I'm not even getting the login box near the start of the process. Rather than the login box, I am getting the error message I posted before. Ill have a play later
  23. Is it 'Domain wide delegation' that I should be setting this up under?
  24. Yes, I am the main admin for Google Workspace at that school. Why is there no step by step from Apple about this? Ill have a look at the link you provided, thanks
