I had a funny moment last night, I was off to take down a raider camp with Piper, I was wearing the Drifter outfit and came across the corpse of a dead guy wearing the same outfit, I thought cool now me and Piper can wear the same thing and look bad ass together, in the midst of changing her outfit a pack of feral dogs start attacking us, so I come out of the Trade screen and start shooting, a couple of seconds later I see Piper taking the dogs down all while running around in her underwear.

DOH! I completely forgot about VATS in that situation, I went with 3 Frag grenades at his feet and a shotgun to the face as the point blank grenades didn't finish him off, I did find it extremely amusing that I could throw 3 grenades at his feet and neither him or his cronies batted an eyelid until they went off.

I lost Dogmeat, I was attacking some raiders at a satellite station and decided it was a bit dangerous so sent him home to Sanctuary and when I've gone back there he's nowhere to be found

I picked it up on Saturday, played maybe 8 hours so far, an hour or so on the main story and the rest on building and side quests. I'm loving it so far, this is definitely going to take as much of my life as Fallout 3 did.

I had one this morning, was about to re-image the machine when I got a phone call from my old boss saying they were experiencing the same thing, so a quick check on here and everything is sorted. Where I'd be without this community I really don't know.

Cheers for the reply Steve, When I went to Misco Expo last month I spoke to someone on the Fujitsu stand there and he suggested making sure all the drivers and firmware were up to date but they were as baffled as I am by this, we are overdue an ofsted inspection so I really can chance these laptops being used. I'm waiting on a teacher being brave enough to use the laptop trolley I have updated to see if the update has worked, I'll let you know the outcome.

The manufacturer website always has to allow for you having other components that are power hungry too, as long as you check what's required for things like the CPU and GPU to boost to their resepective turbo clock then there's not much else in there that will put a varying strain on the PSU, for instance the build I just posted a link to says it will draw 307w even with the superclocked 970.

I just spec'd up something similar on pcpartpicker and with that combo of mainboard, CPU and decent graphics card it wouldn't even give me the option of a 400w power supply, so maybe it won't be good enough. The Cyberpower looks ok a little pricey for what you get, the cpu and mainboard are around £260 so you are paying £140 for the case and PSU. I've got an i5-4690 Z97 and GTX970 and it can take any game I throw at it on max setting and I don't generally see fps drop below 60. It can take a full size graphics card so you should get a pretty good choice of cards, I'd say stick a minimum of 8GB or 16 if you can and it'd be a decent little machine and a lot more powerfull than most of the steam machines out there to buy pre-built.

I've around 100 Fujitsu lifebook's 24 A512s and the rest are A544s the 512s are fine and never given me a problem the 544s are the bane of my life they are forever dropping off the wifi, I've replaced our aging Netgear managed wireless with a new managed Ubiquiti AC system and still I have the same problem. It's got to the point that the teachers are reluctant to use them and opting to use the iPads instead, I had one teacher come up to me asking why she could get a flash game to work on the iPads, I told her she'd have to use the laptops instead and she decided to do a different lesson instead rather than use the laptops. I've spent all last week and probably the next two running Fujitsu DeskUpdate on all of them to get all the drivers up to date, if that doesn't fix it I'll be getting rid of them.

Graphics cards have got a lot more power efficient these days my old GTX 460 would draw 160w where as my GTX 970 draws only 145w, so a 400w psu shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I have similar Netgear switches here (GS724TP) you should be able to log in to it's web interface and enable 'Storm Control' that will monitor ports for links that have unusually high traffic flow and disable the port if need be, don't enable it for any up-link ports though as you may end up with switches not talking to each other.

I've got my work laptop setup with offline files and works seamlessly at work and at home, I'd say that's probably your best route.

From what I hear the emulation environment is so good that it's just a case of the game publisher saying ok make it backward compatible and Microsoft flip a switch to make it happen, absolute minimal code required. So if it's not on the list Bethesda has a reason why and a remastered version would make sense as being that reason.

I'm guessing that's because Fallout 4 is out and they want people playing 3 again to get back into Fallout and then buy the new one.

So Xbox arcade games you've bought on the 360 will just appear in your available game list once they are made backwards compatible?

@mrwoberts I don't, being a primary school it's quite easy for myself and the premises staff to go round to make sure they are all off, Also I find myself working most holidays so being able to turn them on and know that they'll stay on for the rest of the day is quite handy for pushing out policy and software updates.

I'd love to get rid of our laptop trolleys but unfortunately we don't have a computer suite and the head has no intentions of creating one so I struggle on with the laptops. I've improved our WIFI, Upgraded our server to contend with 30/60/90 laptops all logging on at the same time, even put them all on to WSUS so they aren't constantly updating every time they are switched on but alas I am only one man and am fighting a loosing battle. I'd say if you've got the option to get rid then do so and never look back.

I bought COD Advanced Warfare ( always a generation behind ) myself and the Mrs are enjoying the co-op Exo Survival mode, even though we can't get past wave 8 on any of the maps.

I've got 2 separate power policies for my desktops that switch from one to the other depending on the time, so during the day they are all set to high performance keeping them on and ready to use but at 5pm they all switch to a 2nd power profile that puts them to sleep if they aren't being used, come 7am the policy switches back to high performance and they cycle continues. I'd love to go down the switch them off every night route but there are too many teachers here that leave work open over night and expect it to still be there in the morning even though they haven't saved it

yeah I'd go with a scheduled task over Group policy you might want to also add in the option to only do it if the computer has been idle for a while in case anyone is pulling a late one.

I have the same issue, the application doesn't completely crash but parts of it will stop working like the pen functionality.

it could be that your laptops are detecting that they are on a slow link, there is a GP that tells them not to bother loading any domain policies if the link speed drops below 500 kbps https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc978717.aspx You can change the setting in the group policy object to 0 to disable it but I'm guessing you'd have to do that in the local GP editor as you can't push it out from the DC
