  1. Yeah like JordanT91 said, it's a legacy IPv4 prefix that is/was owned by the UK MoD a lot of large companies and government organisations owned complete prefixes but have had to return them back to the pool as more IPv4 address are required by the ever increasing number of ISPs around the world. it may be that the MoD still owns it and leases segments out to ISPs but I think it's more likely that records of who owns it now haven't been updated.
  2. So I'm guessing most of us when it comes to PC gaming have made the switch to digital distribution via outlets such as Steam and Origin but when it comes to console gaming where do you stand? Do you still prefer to have a disc in your hand that you can display proudly on a shelf or Do you prefer the easy "I don't have to get up off the sofa because I want to change games" lifestyle of digital downloads. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally I've switched in the past 6 months from physical to digital even going as far as buying games I already own on disc again digitally just for the convenience. I think the whole game sharing system has played a heavy part in my decision as it saves paying out for 2 copies so the girlfriend and myself can play online together and it just about works out cheaper than buying 2 copies from Shopto or the likes. I think if Sony and Microsoft really pushed digital distribution it could make the majority of gamers switch but until they stop charging full day one RRP for 3 year old games then it's still going to be a tough choice.
  3. excellent, I was trying to retrace my steps via logs and Google history but getting nowhere fast, I do know that it happens to me 62 days ago though and updating the controller software is what stopped it all working. I will say take a backup of your settings once you've got it all running as that will come in handy should something like this happen again.
  4. have you tried a power cycle on the devices?
  5. I had this happen to mine a couple of months back, all 20 APs wouldn't connect to the controller, everything carried on working with the AP's as they keep their setting stored and will function without the controller. I can't for the life of me remember how I sorted it but it wasn't a difficult fix once I'd found it and all was back up and running the same day.

    The Division

I went on last night to upgrade all my mats but didn't do much more as that took me almost 30 minutes
  7. I used to spend a fortune on car parts but switched to PC and Consoles a couple of years back, hence the reason I now drive a 15 year old diesel Zafira
  8. it was 2.0 running 281bhp, it was great fun and had a welded diff so could be a right handful if it came on boost mid corner.
  9. This picture popped up in my Facebook timehop thingy so I thought I'd post it here, it shows every car I've owned up until around 2013, there are some great cars in there and well err..... some not so great, I'm looking at you Blue Fiat Cinquecento but all in all not a bad run in my almost 20 years of driving. p.s the Cosworth is only a replica based off a RS2000
  10. With our servers I have a learn as you go way of doing things, half the stuff I've learned on various Microsoft courses I've forgotten, always remember to save links to solutions you find as you'll easily forget how to do it if it's not something you have to do regularly. Also invest a little time in learning Powershell, it really is a great way to automate tasks on a server and lets you manage all of the client PCs from your workstation. if you have a virtual environment set up, just work your way through the Roles and features list to get yourself acquainted with what each one does and how to set it up.

That's a good idea and I never thought of doing that, which is weird because I did that with Destiny.
  12. Nice one, Cheers Matt
  13. I have 3 Smart tables in the school and found they aren't getting used much mainly because of the way the Smart table software works the teachers and kids don't understand how to use them, so I have upgraded one of them from windows 7 to Windows 10 so it can be used as a big tablet. I've downloaded a few games from the app store but am at a loss as to what apps to put on it, can anyone suggest some good apps available on windows 10 that could be seen as being educational? The tables are about the size of a 32" TV so with the multi-touch capability its possible to have 4 kids sat around it all playing together so 2+ player games would be a bonus. Hopefully I can get these things being used as they seem like a huge waste of money at the moment, luckily they were bought before I was in charge of all things ICT so I'm not in hot water over that but I'd still like to see them being used more than they are at the moment.

    The Division

I'm only on level 16 still, the girlfriend likes to stay at the same level as me but she's been going to bed early leaving my hankering for some Division time, so I've taken to trying to unlock all the safe houses as that doesn't really level me up and trying to get to the level 30 zone house (last one I need to unlock) has kept me occupied for 2 nights so far, the game becomes really intense when you are trying to get somewhere without being spotted as you know getting shot by a level 30 npc is pretty much instant death.
  15. Yes please if you could send me an invite that would be great, my Gamertag is GuyJD

When did you get that? And what store was it from, I need to buy it digitally to share between 2 xboxes too.
  19. I've used splitters before in the same situation and it works, you need to have one at both ends of the cable though
  20. Gets asked a question with a big word it doesn't understand, doesn't want to appear stupid, says yes. yep seems like teenage behaviour to me.

@CHR1S Destiny is a bit of a slow burn, it does take a while to get in to and it's definitely more fun with friends, you can do a lot of it solo but you'll get frustrated easily, it is definitely worth giving it another go as once you get in to it it gets very addictive.

Picked up the new Need for Speed game in the Xbox Spring sale, all I can say is I feel ripped off paying £18 for it so I can't imagine how someone that paid full price for it feels, it's quite possibly the worst Need for Speed game I've ever played and there have been some really bad NFS games in the past, the car handling is terrible, the constant phone calls is worse than GTA 4 and the racing has more rubber banding than Mario Kart. I've given it 3 hours of my life that I will never get back, I wish Microsoft would follow Steam with their refund policy because that game would have gone back. I also picked up Destiny for the 3rd time and The Crew Wild Run edition.
  24. that's sad
  25. At this point since the official windows 10 release, I think I've done somewhere in the region of 100 Windows 10 upgrades and out of that 100 I've had one that had issues and that machine always had issues on Windows 7 too, like has been said get him to back up the data and do a clean install and all will be fine.
