I've got an issue with digital camera's at the moment, when you plug one in via USB the built in photo download tool fails with an error and the user has to navigate to the camera in "This PC" to manually copy the photos

We have 3 leased Sharp Copiers in the school that act as the only printers available to the computers and laptops, as you can imagine they get used a lot and the toner usage is huge, we get sent a new toner automatically every time a cartridge reaches a 25% remaining threshold (seems like one arrives every day), that's all well and good but we are getting a huge build up of empty toner cartridges and the only place I've found that will take them is eReco but they want £35 for every box collected! Does anyone know of a company that will collect Sharp toners for a reasonable amount or even better for free? I really don't want them going to landfill and the business manager scowls at me every time I mention paying to get rid of them. Surely I can't be the only one in this situation.

I agree, I've never had a problem with Kinguin (never tried G2Play) I have on occasion got a "for review" code but it still works the same as the normal game and appears in my Steam library as the normal game

Yeah that was my first thinking too

I bought Mad Max over the weekend with the 40% off from GMG, not played it yet though, been playing a lot of COD MW2 Special Ops missions with the Mrs, I forgot how fun they can be. Also Does anyone use Kinguin? I've used it a few times but keep forgetting about it, they are doing Mad Max fo £11 at the moment and they've just introduced buyer protection so if the code you get doesn't work you get your money back. It's well worth checking it out if you need a new game and are a bit strapped for cash.

Smart board won't write unless I use 2 fingers
GuyJD replied to GuyJD's topic in Educational Software
I tried uninstalling the Smart notebook software but it would not remove, So I gave up and re-imaged the machine, I could have spent time troubleshooting it but unfortunately it's the beginning of term and I just don't have time, thanks all for your suggestions -
Smart board won't write unless I use 2 fingers

We have E70s and are using Notebook 14, I've tried updating to Smart Notebook 15 and still have the same issue, I'm going to try uninstalling the software and re-install as 15 just upgraded from 14 when I tried earlier. -
I'm having a really strange issue with one of our smart interactive displays, the display functions normally as a pointing device but when you select the pen tool from either the menu in Smart notebook or the drop down for Smart ink, it still acts as a pointing device unless you use 2 fingers and then it writes. I've been through what little in the way of settings I can find and have had no luck resolving this, has anyone had this problem before and know how it can be solved, I've opened a case with Smart but that can take up to 3 days for them to even respond. Any ideas?

I recently upgraded my mobo and processor and Ram on my gaming PC it was running the preview program final release before it was due to roll over to the full release and the upgrade has de-activated the install even though it's rolled over to the final release it still hasn't activated, my work PC and Laptop have both rolled over fine but after trying pretty much everything I can think of it looks like I'm going to have to install 8.1 and upgrade it to get it activated again. Oh and one other thing I noticed someone said that you'd have to re-upgrade if you install a graphics card, I did this too a few weeks back and windows 10 stayed activated, this was on the preview release but I can't see it being different for the full release.

Samsung WDS8050 Wireless Controller - anyone know who they're rebranding?
GuyJD replied to pete's topic in Wireless Networks
Looks nothing like my Netgear Controller but mine is 8 years old at this point so it's not unreasonable to think they'd have had a redesign by now. -
I use Durable Screenclean fluid, the 250ml bottle lasts a very long time, I go round cleaning our interactive screens and monitors once a fortnight and 4 squirts is enough to do the 70" display with enough left on the cloth to clean the teachers monitor too.

Still running an iPhone 4 here

This is exactly what I do. I've used Ranger, CC3 and CC4, a vanilla domain is where I feel the most in control, any management system just makes things more complicated and harder to get stuff done in my opinion.

every Windows 8.1 driver I've tried so far has worked with Windows 10

check the settings on a home folder that is working correctly and set it the same.

exactly, the music industry are running a fine line, I really feel for artists that are producing the content that they put a lot of effort into for very little reward, the problem is with the record labels they take such a huge percentage and don't want to give it up, they'll end up with no new talent unless the whole business model is changed. Personally I've lost track of the number of times I've bought the same thing more than once just because I want it on a different format or worse bought it on a different format just for convenience, the music/movie/games industry know that people will do that and are more than happy to take your money so why should they change it.

Sounds like the permissions have become corrupt, you'll need to take ownership of the folders and reset the permissions.

Happy birthday, 27 it a great age to be, wish I could be 27 again, I'm 36 next month

Sweet! I already own the PC version so a free version to play with is always good

Can you reset the IE settings to default and let it pick up the GP again?

Sounds to me like the HT doesn't really understand the way Twitter works, personally I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you're not following back I don't think anyone could assume you condone the language used.

I've never seen the point in them to be honest, it's just extra tat I don't need cluttering up my house, digital distribution is my favourite method of getting a game. Mind you saying that I wouldn't mind a 20th Anniversary LE PS4.
-
yeah it was reduced by £8 to £22 in the Steam sale but even at that I still thought it was too much, early access should be £15 or under IMHO because you are essentially play testing the game for the developer.
-
I have quite a few early access games and on the whole I'd say they are worth it but that's pretty subjective because I'm going on the enjoyment I've had out of the ones I have, what does annoy me is when a developer charges full retail price for an early access game, I like the look of ARK: Survival evolved but there is no way I'm paying £30 for an unfinished game. It seems that if a game isn't from one of the big developers it gets an early access release which is fine as long as the developer sticks with it and evolves the game, Unknown Worlds is a great example of this with Subnautica, they listen to feedback and the game seems to get updated every week and it's a great gaming experience because of it.
