  1. Well I now feel mildly less guilty for leaving London at the weekend now Suffolk is being bumped up from T2 to T4. My drive back home after New Year could be quite quiet!
  2. Having woken up on Saturday morning to whispers of a travel ban being imposed on London, I quickly packed myself up ready to hit the road that evening and head for home. Yes, I know that isn’t the right response, but for my own mental wellbeing, I needed to be home. On the plus side, I’ve done it in a much more responsible way. I was in the car alone, I stopped nowhere and I have taken the decision to isolate here with my parents for the next few days as a precaution. I have told people I am not available until after Christmas Day to see me for this reason.
  3. Been an interesting day, to say the least...
  4. iOS update wise, it’s always hard to say for definite but I would expect at least another 2 to 3 years.
  5. Aha, this may well be the answer. Our senior tech seemed to narrow it down to patches too, with positive results having removed this one. Think they're currently checking if there's any other patches causing this issue too! Thanks all!
  6. Hi all, Throwing this out there on behalf of my employer who are starting to see a strange issue popping up on several of our sites now, wondering if anyone had any ideas. We've got some Win 10 clients that will spend up to 30 to 40 minutes trying to log using domain credentials then report back that the domain is not available. Local logins work, the network status shows a status of no internet but the client's IP address in the correct range, and can ping server IP addresses, gateways etc. However, trying to ping hostnames, domain names or web addresses fails, suggesting this must be a DNS issue. Things that have been tried so far are things like reinstalling LAN drivers, setting manual IP addresses and DNS settings, resets of the network stack, flushing the DNS cache and trying plugging into different ports of the switch. Any resets of networking on the client end up in it getting a self assigned IP address in the 169. range Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank you
  7. Totally, while I was working there last year, I recommended the 11 to a lot of people. It was super value.
  8. 23 year old guy tries to avoid all his problems and win the affections of the literal girl of his dreams by living his life as if he is in a video game. Ends up in a lot of fights.
  9. Worth having a chat with Amazon customer services? They’re usually pretty helpful.
  10. Same here, arrived today, nice and bright red, will go well in my extensive sock collection
  11. Wait, the same CVC that owned F1?
  12. Ooh, love the free socks. Shame I’m not technically eligible at the moment as I’m between jobs!
  13. Did the open day at London Transport Museum’s Acton depot with @BKGarry yesterday. Fascinating and definitely want to go back!
  14. From experience, I would maybe avoid the iPhone 7. I’d suggest that if you really are looking to save money, look at the 8 or the new SE. As someone else mentioned, Apple do interest free financing on iPhones. Also worth looking at Apple’s website as they do refurbished iPhones too.
  15. From what I've been told, motorsport more works on a "we'll pay you what we believe you're worth" than having a set scale.
  16. I have applied for a few of these before, as a big motorsport fan. I actually got an interview earlier in the year with a Formula E team. Quite proud of that one.
  17. Haven’t used them personally as yet, but have been recommended Replace Base https://replacebase.co.uk Appears to have the parts for the 6th gen!
  18. Zoom can do backgrounds without a green screen. I’ve done it a few times on personal calls with it.
  19. I come from a factory and am made of a special metal. *clang*
  20. One of the young blackbirds that fledged the nest in our garden yesterday!
  21. I think this seems to be a common issue currently with the 16". I've had it myself a few times, and I've seen people reporting the same on forums and Reddit.
  22. I'm a fan of Affinity Photo, although I don't think I'm yet using it to its full potential. Some of the students at the last school I worked at certainly had no complaints about switching to it from Photoshop.
  23. I think a restore is sadly your next troubleshooting step. That would rule out any hardware issues, especially doing a full restore using iTunes. Make sure the user has a current iCloud backup and knows the details to get it back though! Definitely worth asking about drops/spills as @elsiegee40 says too.
  24. Yep, that’s completely ignoring the point of Apple Pay (I’ve never had experience with Android Pay so can’t comment there). Apple Pay is designed to be secure, adding a check is basically saying they’re not willing to trust it. I think these random checks are supposed to happen on contactless cards though, as far as I’ve read.
