  1. 2008R2, will have a look later and let you know how I get on
  2. Hello All, Can I set password complexity rules to different user groups/types in CC4? Thanks, TomHD
  3. Roy... RTFM! Who knew lol!
  4. What @7UD9 said http://moopz.com/assets_c/2012/06/emoji-thumbs-up-150-thumb-48x48-140616.jpg
  5. Nobody is is buying their mates £30 gifts http://www.rivsoft.net/content/icons/kappa_big.png
  6. This. And this. Do you own a house yet @abillybob?
  7. @localzuk, I have pointed the staff towards the web based version for now whilst I figure out the licensing. Had to laugh at the teacher who said that "uploading the files and then having to download them was 'complicated'" lol
  8. Hello All, Does anyone have a copy of the SMART Notebook Express installer they could send me please? I have inherited a SMART system but have no license keys to get into their web portal! I cannot call support from the school as we have a block on international calls and the telephone number input on their contact form still does not work! Thanks, TomHD
  9. We have SALTO systems, works fine. Shame the same can't be said for the people who installed it!
  10. Does your school have a support contract with RM @dastrix?
  11. Have I missed something? I'm sure we have our iPads on iOS9 using our configurating MBP that has Yosemite and the "latest" Apple Configurator (I did have to install these the day I did the upgrade). I've not had any complaints so far. I can check all this when I'm in tomorrow.
  12. I always thought the free Meraki solution was complimentary to Apple Config? Use Config to install apps and config WIFI and then use Meraki to manage from there? We only use Apple Config so I may be wrong
  13. I had to install latest OSX and latest Apple Configurator to install iOS9. Done 30 this afternoon, all seems OK so far (previous settings all intact) and have arranged to look at the new restrictions with IT Coord.
  14. 100% Agreed
  15. Zero right now but its one of the "big" things for next year. And same a @Sheridan too!
  16. Hi All, I have some staff needing to obtain data from another school but cannot as our version doesn't match. Now I've not upgraded as I wanted to move to SQL 2014 but lots of other things have got in the way so far this term. What I need to confirm is that SIMS will continue to work after installing Summer 2015 on SQL 2008R2, the Capita documentation suggests so. I won't hear the end of it if it doesn't work by the morning! Cheers, TomHD
  17. We're not allowed to purchase via eBay... Reasoning... Paypal is not secure LOL Yet more than happy to shovel public funds to companies like Amazon who dodge their taxes!
  18. I will second the use of in-wall amps, perfectly adequate for anything but serious music reproduction. Easy and clean installs, can be hard wired too. Nuvo is the brand we have in our school but I'm sure others exist.
  19. I love this sort of thing. Thanks @VeryPC
  20. Just to pipe in on costs, recently my school spent £200 on a telephone cable (cat3) being run from one office to another. The day before I ran 2 cat5e to and from the same offices for the cost of my 3 hours! Had the school mentioned the telephone cable I could have run that too!
  21. @localzuk, Thats what I thought. 100mbps with a 1Gbit copper uplink will suffice, no fibre needed (The Planets had SFP but they weren't being used). I need 48 ports, is it better to have 2 24s or 1 48? The bursar wants me to get the best value, so if a bit more expenditure gets lots more potential then we will go that way. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I have heard only good things for HP so leaning that way
  22. Hi All, I have had 2 of these (http://www.planet.com.ru/en/product/images/11285/PS-FGSW2402RS.pdf) fall over recently. I have replaced them with some old switches I found in a store cupboard (An old Cisco XXX and a similarly old D-Link XXX). Could you guys recommend some up to date alternatives please? If you need more info just ask Cheers, TomHD
  23. @pantscat WINS Of course the its the speed! Setting the printers from Auto to 10Full has got them connected again. Have just got to figure out what to replace the 2 dead Planet FGSW 2402RS with! Will make another thread for that in a bit Cheers everyone for the input.
  24. I did try setting the speed from auto to 100Full, I will try all the other speeds I have spanning tree set so will look at that too
