I think I have managed to give it a static IP now. Thanks to everyone for the responses, by plugging it into the working network I was able to see the switch in DHCP and get back in to assign a static IP When I look in the Web Management Platform>Network>VLAN Interface I see VLAN ID = *1 | IPv4 Address = 10.166.113.25/24 | Admin Status = Up | Method = Manual. I'm not sure what this means exactly, does the manual elaborate on this? Thanks, TomHD

Nope, console cable is RJ45 to serial and no reset buttons at all! I have just found a RJ45 to USB in my cable spares box... So just plug and play? Scratch this, the RJ45 looking end isn't RJ45

To get the switch itself, I'm guessing the 255.255.0.0 is the issue? Like I say, terrible with hardware! SO how do I get access via the console port? I have no serial ports to use on a PC/Laptop!

Hi all, As mentioned in a thread the other day, hardware is my weakest area of knowledge so please bare with me. I have a new HP 1920 48G, have it in the rack and a PC connected. I logged into the web interface and started the wizard. So I entered 10.166.113.25 for IPv4 address and 255.255.0.0 automatically entered for Masklen. Clicked Next then Finish, an error came up but before I could see it and the switch logged me out. Now I cannot get back into the web interface using the default IP nor the one I entered above! Hello All, I am waiting on our support to upgrade our SIMS server with regards to SOLUS and SQL. The SBM is wanting to get on with the workforce census so needs the FMS Summer 2015 patch applied. Will FMS continue to work on SQL 2008 R2 on the latest update? I ask as I am sure I saw somewhere that FMS Summer 2015 won't work with SQL below 2012? Thanks, TomHD

Hello All, I am having issues with users releasing A3 jobs from an A4 printer. This results in printing out PCL XL Warning IllegalMediaSize errors until the job is cancelled. Had one staff member feed an entire box of paper before calling me! We are running Papercut MF using virtual queues, one for B/W and one for colour. I have tried setting "Only allow the following paper sizes" to A4 on an A4 printer but A3 jobs still release and cause the error. Does anyone have a solution for this please? Thanks, TomHD

My only options for the drive in MSM is "Assign Global Hot Spare" or "Assign Dedicated Hot Spare" and I'm guessing I don't want to do this. Do I need to create a new virtual drive from the physical one? Sorry if I'm being thick but don't want to mess this up!

Thanks for the responses does it have to be part of the array? Or can it standalone? I ask as this new disk is purely for IT resources, no one else in the school will need access to it.

Hello All, Just a heads up that hardware is probably my weakest area! I have WD WD10EFRX Red 1TB that I have plugged into the server. I can see it in MegaRAID Storage Manager but I have no clue what to do to make it accessible in Windows disk management. Can anyone offer me some assistance please Thanks, TomHD

Thanks @Domino, all the tests I have performed on my end come back positive I was just on the phone to county (on hold!) when a load of external emails came in so I'm guessing someone else has been on the phone to them already. Tom.

I bought myself a RH Logic 400 with high back, some of the best £££ I've ever spent. Those Steelcase Leap chairs look nice although I would always suggest getting an on site demo. Any manufacturer that has confidence in their product will lend you one to try at your desk. RH loaned me 3 different models before I settled on the Logic 400. There was no obligation and RH were happy with me buying from a local company.

@AnneICT Loking at this thread again has just reminded me how I did it, there is TEC1539717 on RM Support for installing NXT Software. Follow it and insert WeDo every time you see NXT. Let me know how you get on. TomHD

Hello All, I am attempting to load CC4 onto a partition on our Macbook Pros. I have a build disk that I use for non RM machines and it works fine but it doesn't have a driver for the Mac's NIC so I cannot contact the build server to finish the process. Can anyone assist me with either getting the driver for the NIC or suggesting a different approach to getting CC4 onto out Macbooks? Many thanks, TomHD

I cannot remember exactly how I managed it, sorry. Perhaps you could post a screen shot of the package properties "Contents" tab and I can compare to what I have? I ask as in my install args it mentions licenses and I think the grey head is a license issue!?

I have it working just fine on CC4.3, did you install via package builder or importing .msi in RMMC? I think I used the package builder... I have had 1 machine where the head has been greyed out, the only way I could get it to play ball was a machine rebuild!

I got some Lenovo B50-80 from Ebuyer recently for some new teachers, ~£270 each. Great bang for buck but they have flimsy keyboards that I'm sure wouldn't last long in classrooms. The laptops (Thinkpads/MBPs/etc) I know that could even come close to lasting a day will be quite pricey as they will typically be high end enterprise machines, Chromebooks will last the day but as you say...

Got backups I've moved them to C:\ on my office desktop for now, can put them back if there are any issues. I did look to extend the volume but not enough unallocated to do the job either so again, I have the temp .edb on C:\ all good so far. Takes so long doing it over the network though!

Hello All, I have had the defrag fail on me twice today due to me not checking free space properly! Second time it was about 500mb from finishing I believe the script copies the de-fragmented .edb to a temp location then overwrites the fragmented one? So this means I can delete the 2 failed temp .edb right? As I have 2 locked disks at the moment :/ Cheers, Tom

I figured this would be the case, I may go the same route as you and apply the same policy across the board.
