E2BN have got back to me with the following: "Looks like the basic cause of this is that the hide public IP 85.12.76.1 for Suffolk is on the CBL blacklist as having been detected sending spam or some other malicious activity. This does not indicate an issue with your own network The problem with a global hide is that it can affect any Suffolk school that does not have a dedicated outbound PAT address. There are a few things you can do. 1. Contact Suffolk ICT Services ( Schools Choice ) and ask if they provide an outbound MTA service for schools so that you can send mail via that and not direct to the net. 2. Contact Schools choice and request a dedicated PAT address for your schools IP range. This will move your mail server and any other outbound services from hiding behind the same address as all the other schools. We are about to implement another 128 addresses for Suffolk but these won't be ready until 16th Feb. They may have some spare in the existing range that they can allocate to you now. 3. For either of these options I would recommend contacting Schools Choice and ask them to create an SPF txt record for your dns domain within the E2BN Namesurfer tool. SPF is a reputation record that many remote mail servers check to see if your domain is trusting selected IP addresses as "authorised" to send mail for you domain." We are connecting directly to the Internet on our send connector, is this likely to be our problem? Thanks, TomHD

Not using the default send connector. It is configured as following: General - Name: external Status: Enabled Protocol Logging: None FQDN: mail.romanhill-pri.suffolk.sch.uk Maximum message size: 10240 Address space - Type: SMTP Address space: * Include all subdomains ticked Cost: 1 Network - Use domain name system (DNS) "MX" records to route mail automatically Source Server - Name: RHP-SR-MAIL Site: romanhill.internal/Configuration/Sites/RHP Role: Mailbox, Client Access, Hub Transport Thanks, TomHD

Hello All, Still having issues with external emails getting delayed or bounced back. Wondered if the send connector wasn't configured properly? Anyone here from Suffolk/E2BN give me any information on the configuration of their send connector? Thanks, TomHD

Hello All, Last week we were placed on a blocklist The CBL I unblocked us but we were soon blocked again! Virus or malware! I have installed the latest SEPM and deployed the clients across the network. I left it to run over the weekend and it found some Trojans. According to the blocklist page, the problem was last detected over 2 days ago. Can I assume that the problem has been removed? And would this mean I am safe to unblock us? Many thanks, TomHD.

I have emailed E2BN asking for some support. Regarding the open relay, MailRadar says that port 25 is closed at our IP. Does this mean no open relay? Thanks, TomHD -

@andydis, No Office 365, Internet is provided by E2BN and they are the Domain Registrar. Not sure who does the anti spam, how would I find that? Regarding the removal request, I have that form open but I'm not sure what to put for "Reason for Removal" Now looking into the open relay part Thanks, TomHD -

So the virtual machine is on 10.xxx.xxx.226. There is no entry in DHCP for this IP and I'm not sure what I should be looking for in the DNS?

Hello All, Trying to uninstall our old Exchange 2007 from a Server 2003 R2 VM. Have gone Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Exchange 2007. I deselect all the server roles and select next. Readiness Checks fail with "Error: Active Directory does not exist or cannot be contacted" I have Googled this but the resources I find seem to be centred around installation and not uninstalling! Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks, TomHD

Hello All, I am wanting to uninstall our old mail server, running on VM - Server 2003 R2, but cannot due to IP conflicts. I cannot change the IP address of the VM from the vSphere Client and I cannot log onto the server because it is not connected to the domain (due to the IP conflict I guess?). I tried installing VM Tools but I don't think it succeeded because of the conflict again. The IP of the VM is .137 Looking at this in DHCP shows BAD_ADDRESS This address is already in use. Any help with this would be great if any more info is helpful just say Thanks, TomHD

Junior school password policy - what do you do?
TomHD replied to adminray's topic in How do you do....it?
Much like @pooley, our Early Years students login with the same username with no password. Years 1-2 have their own usernames as (firstname)(first initial of surname)(last initial of surname) but all have the same easy to remember password. Years 3-6 have their own usernames and their own password which is not complex but does have to be 6 characters. All teachers have a student password management tool so no need to hunt me down for that. Never been asked to sort out deleted work but can restore from daily backup should it ever happen! Hope this helps TomHD -
I have installed the certificate on all PCs/Laptops/iPads but haven't used the test URL, will give it a go on Monday. I have noticed that IE and Chrome are fine with accessing Google but Firefox isn't, I get a browser based certificate warning when accessing O_o Anyone else noticed this?

Hello All, I am cleaning up the allocations for the resource disk, currently have quotas of 116GB on a 46GB disk. I have 4 users (all admin) that have 10GB allocated and this is completely unnecessary. I would like to allocate 2GB each but the option in RMMC is greyed out. Where would I find the settings to change this? Many thanks, TomHD

I hear a Google Chrome RM Blueprint is coming Spring 2015, would that make any difference? -
Hello All, I have installed Google Chrome using the Chrome Standalone Installer via the RM Application Wizard / PackageBuilder. The package installs fine, the shortcut appears in the start menu but upon opening, the user is presented with the "Sign into Chrome" page. What I would like to know is how can I set the homepage to be index for all users? Many thanks, TomHD
