I have been buying HP 1950-48G- POE + Using the 10GB fibre to the core switch. Costs me about £950 for the switch, then another £300 for 2 modules

I also have been having a bad time with Cunninghams. They charge you for absolutely everything! I am pretty sure if you sneezed while there salesmen were there, they would charge you for the "bless you"

I keep thinking about this. But I don't like to have different experiences for staff and students. I would want Windows 10 everywhere or nowhere. With the exception of the IT Support computers!

We use the SEN laptops, the exam user is just heavily locked down. Has redirected desktop, which has notepad on it. That's it. Nothing else available. Stays on wifi, impero is disabled for the group during exams. Exams office printer is added automatically.

I'll go on a limb here and say that if it was your own on-site lightspeed, you wouldn't of had any issues.. In fact, i have my own lightspeed unit currently and we didn't have a single blip! That being said! I take your other points! Am expecting a call from someone today to tell me what happened & ill make my decision then. Matt

Hey all! I'm due to go live with schools broadband, next Tuesday! If I'm honest in bricking it! I'v convinced SLT that it was a good move.. From RM broadband! But I'v been watching these threads for a while now and from what I can understand Schools broadband are going to shit at the moment... I'v had ex- work colleagues phoning me telling me to find another supplier and quickly! My RM line doesn't de-activate for a while so I do have the option of "jumping ship" as it were!?

You can do. It's smart enough to know in which order it needs to do the updates. So although you have selected them all, it will update the database first on the server, and when that is done, it moves onto the clients.

Have you thought about seeing if any secondary schools in the areas can help? I'm a network manager at a secondary school, and I have a couple primary schools that phone me up in "oh shit" moments that I sell my time too privately.

So teachers would be taking pictures? Potentially of the kids.. With phones? Is it just me that this doesn't sit right with?

I'd be tempted to shutdown the servers at the end of the day... Until it's resolved. Unless you have apps you critically need up for the evenings/night?
