I've been having the same issue with our veeam server for about a week now. After a restart it's fine for about 5 minutes and then grinds to a halt. Struggling to even copy log files off of it even when booting in Windows PE or safe mode. We're going to try setup our old san and migrate it to a different datastore. Task manager doesn't show any CPU or High Memory usage.

We used Read Write for a few years with a student that required it. Don't have any students currently that need it but it did work well. It's worth having the student practice on it before hand. You do get a lot of options including ways to lock it down.

We have a google site that gets updated each day and a shortcut is put on all teachers desktops.

Just wondering what people are doing for their computer science students and allowing them to create/run exe files. I've had a little look round on the forums and seen a fairly old post suggesting Virtaul Box machines. Just wandering if there are any other ideas that people are doing.

Not sure what's being asked but sounds like you don't want cover sheets? There is a config setting called "PrintCoverSheet" that you can disable that might solve your problem?

Jumbo cards are usually within promotional boxes and within these boxes you would usually get a few packs of pokemon cards too. Lost Origins is one expansions to the card game (the packs will say what expansion they are). V-Star is a type of rare card you can find in the packs. My kids got into this a few months ago so I'm still learning but I found you can buy some of the shiny v-star/v-max cards from ebay for a couple of quid. There's also a lot of fake pokemon cards that people create on Amazon/ebay. Kids do like these but are not genuine. If you only want genuine things you need to make sure the Brand is Pokémon.

If I had to guess I would say Scomis. We had Scomis for years up until a few months ago when we switched MIS to iSAMS. Our users would always complain about the sluggishness of Scomis and how it would freeze up when running large reports. We had quite a few sync jobs going on that would pull data from Scomis and they always took quite a while depending on what data we wanted. For example, Salamander use to take hours to run because it had to pull so much data but now with the iSAMS api, it usually less than an hour depending on how much needs changing/syncing.

As you said, really not an IT problem to fix but as we all know we get involved in these sorts of things. Another option is to send an automated email but I guess that relies on the users checking their email before lesson ends?

Not familliar with Mosyle but how I do it in Jamf is use Smart Groups based on the department field in Active Directory. I have smart groups for all departments which also allows me to create more smart groups to say which sites they teach at. For example, our Senior School teachers will get slightly different setup to our Junior School teachers. You can scope config profiles and apps to these smart groups.

Think I'm ready to give this a go and setup. Looks like I'll need to change all the user ImmutableIDs to their email address to make it more straight forward. One question if anyone is able to help. When new users are created, their immutableID will be randomly generated due to Azure AD Sync creating the accounts. Is there a way to force new users to be with their email address as their ImmutableID? Otherwise we'll have to remember to update the ID for each new user. Worst case, I could script this. Edit: Think I found my answer. We would have to keep updating the immutableIDs if we want to use Azure AD Sync. The other option is to use the currunt immutableIDs and create a custom attribute in google that we can sync (possibly using gam to keep up-to-date).

You shouldn't need to hold down both buttons as this will restart the device. Turn the device off. As you plug the USB cable into the device, hold down the home button until it goes into DFU mode.

Also interested in this. We mainly use Google in our enviroment but still have an Azure AD instance using Azure AD Connect. I setup Google Federation but I believe this is only to create accounts in Azure AD if it doesn't exist. But as we're using Azure AD Connect the users are already there. Ideally, I'd like to use Google as the Identity Provider and have our users sign into their google account to use other Azure services such as office 365.

I've been looking into language stuff recently as we've been asked to allow our students learning chinese to be able to switch between it. Struggling to find any decent information as it all seems to change depending on which version of Windows you're using. The best thing I have found is powershell commands that might help. Installing a language via powershell: Install-Language zh-CN View which languages are installed: Get-WinUserLanguageList Set the windows language list. Languages can be installed but not part of the list. This will set the languelist to en-GB and zh-CN Set-WinUserLanguageList -LanguageList en-GB,zh-CN A way to automate this is maybe use a login script and run several commands: $OldList = Get-WinUserLanguageList $OldList.Add("zh-CN") Set-WinUserLanguageList -LanguageList $OldList

We just moved from SIMS to iSAMS as an independant school. There isn't many options to choose from when it comes to independany schools as most MISs are tailored towards state schools. It was a big project for us to move and involved a lot of people. We also had very limited time to do it as we wanted it done before SIMS locked us into a three year contract. With any MIS move I think there will be some rough patches along the way but now it's up and running we find it really good. A lot of changes in the way people work as SIMS and iSAMs are very different.

There's a few suggestions in this reddit thread that was posted 3 days ago. The reg edit is still a vulnarability but most people seem to be using it. I'd like to to have a go at installing the drivers into the image we deploy but haven't got round to it yet.

You can targets specific ous or even groups. You create the access level and then apply it to the area you want. You can create an access level without applying it to anyone. This video shows a similar setup:

Jamf School was previously Zulu Desk. Jamf purchased them a few years ago and re-branded it and are marketing it towards education. Supervision is applied to any device that goes through your Device Enrollment Profile. You might want seperate enrollment profiles for different types of setups. For example, you might have a different setup for students than staff.

We move our exam devices to a different OU with more restrictions. We also have them setup to login automaticlly and then run a user GPO script to boot up the exam software. We use ExamWritePad which was created by a member of this forum. It's a basic word processing piece of software that allows you to control settings to your users needs. It also auto saves!

This is something I've been struggling with. We've only been asked recently to include a language pack so it's all new to me but even though I'm able to import a language pack it still doesn't appear in the drop down list. There's lots of different information about using language packs, features on demand or local experiance pack. We had RDP connection issues when installing 22H2 via MDT. But if we upgraded to 22H2 from 21H2 via the enablement package it was fine. It's as if the GPO RDP settings are not going into affect for 22H2 new computers. Another issue I currently have is the WIM file downloaded from MVLC always extracts as version 19041 which I believe is windows version 2004? I have to add the 21H2 enablement package to upgrade the wim to 19044. Anyone else image just by extracting the WIM from the ISO or does everyone build an image and deploy that?
