  1. I had this issue and fixed it by importing the enablement package via dism although the last time I downlaoded the ISO and exported the WIM it seems fine.
  2. Ah, I was looking under Student Manager as that's the method this seems to come under. Good to know it is there. We only moved to iSAMs this year so still finding things out!
  3. Interesting, I didn't even know this existed as I can't see it documented on their API page. Anyways, I gave it a test and it seems to work fine for me. Seems odd you get some photos because if it was a permissions issue, then you shouldn't get anything.
  4. Similar to what we have done. We'be purchaed a few Power BI licenses for specific users and assigned it tp them on our MS Tenancy.
  5. This is pretty much the same as what we do except we have seperate logins for each laptop. The laptop is setup to auto login to it's assigned exam account so we don't need to provide usernames and passwords to anyone. They just turn on/restart the laptop and it will login and open up the exam software automaticlly.
  6. There was a post earlier on today on the ANME forums about mail flow change for people that use Office 365 flow rules: https://community.spiceworks.com/support/help-desk-cloud-edition/troubleshooting/forwarding-email
  7. We use Fortigate firewalls here and don't really have any issues with them. Filtering is good and they are quick to re-catorgorise websites if needed. We also have keyword search setup to email DSLs. We have offsite filtering setup so our student devices are filtered whilst they are not on the network using a PAC file and they have to login to authenticate.
  8. If it's a new account then you'll have to run the google sync (GCDS) first to create the account in Google. You can then reset the password in AD so it will push up to Google (as long as you have Google Password sync installed on all your domain controllers). You could change the powershell script to create the account > run GCDS > Reset password. Edit: Something else you might need to check is how GCDS creates your users and how it handles their first google sign in (force password reset etc).
  9. There is an event for esports in education next week. You can sign up here: https://anme.co.uk/events-meetings/events/item/power-of-play
  10. We got rid of our PTA accounts several years ago and they now have to use a consumer email address such as gmail.com
  11. I'd imagine SIMs have probably lost more schools as these stats don't include independant schools that have left.
  12. Yep, I thought I was going mad trying to find this. Also, the setting which the guided experiance changes under Security > Access and data control > API Controls doesn't appear: 1.Don’t allow users to access any third-party apps. 2.Allow users to access third-party apps that only ask for Google Sign in info. Edit: I guess it does say it's rolling out over the coming weeks but I can't see a date for when this article was made/posted. I know it took a few weeks for UK to get access to Practice Sets in Google Classroom so maybe we need to wait a bit longer.
  13. Not sure if this has been posted already but I've not seen it and I never received an email from Google about it. By default, third party apps will be denied for users marked as under 18. That will mean all apps and services you haven't already set as Trusted will immediately stop working See this article for more information.
  14. This has appeared for me today. Edit: Oddly, there is a message saying: "Practice sets has not launched in your language yet. Until then, please try it out in United States English and provide feedback to help us improve the experience." But it still lets me create them. Still need to do some testing.
  15. Schools are already struggling to recruit, this will just push more people away.
  16. I contacted google and they suggested it's only available for "English (US) (EN)" language. You can change this in the admin console if you wish but I've left mine alone: Admin Console > Account > Account Settings > Profile> Language > Select English (US) (EN) > Save.
  17. I don't think this is out yet but would like to know otherwise.
  18. We pay for Educational Plus which is the highest tier. We paid £3 per student license which gives us 1 staff license for every 4 students we license. We had to commit to 3 years to get this price. This is our final year so it may go up in the next renewal. We like it due to the security side of things and the investigation tool amongst other things.
  19. Just tidying up some GPOs and found one that might help as it disables the internet check. Might be worth a try: Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Internet Communication Manager > Internet Communication setting > Turn off Windows Network Connectivity Status Indicator active tests.
  20. Do you still setup the machines initallly? For example, do you use MDT or just hand it to the user fresh out of the box? How are you handling Software installation and software updates? We currently have PDQ deploy/inventry which I don't think works if devices are not connected to the domain?
  21. There isn't much wiggle room for resellers. I do find Academia to be the cheapest.
  22. Usual ports for SMTP are 25, 465 and 587. 465 and 587 are secure ports so I'd imagine just opening 25 would be fine. Something else to try is setting the from address to a domain email that isn't an actual account. You should be able to set anything as the from address if you have your public IP listed as allowed to send emails.
  23. Have you checked if Comprehensive Mail Storage is turned on for the OU this account resides in? If it is turned on, try turning it off. Might want to move the account to it's own OU if you want this setting on for other accounts. Admin console > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Compliance > Drill down to ou the account lives in > Check Comprehensive mail storage option Another thing to check is firewall ports?
  24. Is the email address you're using as the FROM address an actual account in your Google tenant? I've had it in the past where the Comprehensive mail storage option in the Google Admin console stops SMTP working as it requires authentication to make sure all email is stored in the associated user' mailboxes.
  25. When ASM launched you could only create managed apple ids that took the domain name @appleid.domain.com. Over time this has evolved and they now allow you to take ownership of a domain such as your school domain. This now allows you to create Apple IDs using your domain name and not @appleid.domain.com. It's possible this user setup a Consumer Apple ID before you got round to creating a Managed Apple ID. You can setup federation within in ASM so users that sign into iCloud with their google/azure accounts automaticlly have a managed apple ID created. Seting up Federation will also email anyone that has created a consumer apple ID with an email address associated to your domain and ask them to update their apple id.
