Currently using chromebits with Chrome Sign Builder. Was cheap simple solution as we only had a couple of signage areas to begin with. This has grown over a couple of years and we need something with more features so we're looking at using our AppleTVs. I've heard TrilbyTV and Carousel are good.

How do you back-up your Google Workspace data (UK Based School)
RLR replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
We use spanning backup. Quite expensive but works well. -
You have a few options. 1) Setup MDT to save bitlocker keys to Active Directory during imaging. This would require making sure AD is setup to receive bit locker keys and your MDT task sequence has an enable bitlocker task ticked to save the key to active directory. You may need to set the correct group policies for the machines you're imaging also to make sure you can save the key. 2) Setup MBAM which seems to be the more modern method. I don't have any experience in this so can't help but will likely move to it at some point.

Not used it myself but I believe a lot of schools use Impero for classroom management. I'd imagine it works for remote devices as long as they are part of your fleet with Impero on as it seems cloud based. Although students could just turn their wifi off

I'm pretty sure Salamander supports ID numbers in SIMS as a user defined field. I can't remember which way round it was though. Whether the card number needs to be put into SIMs to get pulled through to AD or if the card number goes into AD and gets pushed to SIMs.

Are you getting both of there products, inventory and deploy? My renewal was in May and it was $1050 for both products.

It's a shame they moved Rocket League from Steam to Epic games store. At least with steam you can setup an internet cafe like workshop that helps with account control. Epic games doesn't have anything like this.

Not sure how reliable deleting profiles is these days with Windows 10 as it creates a reg key per user. I know there is a gpo that can delete files based how old a profile is but again, since windows 10 I think the DAT file that's used to determine age is not always correct. I've not used it before but there is software called Deep Freeze that might do what you want.

Thanks for the information. They should defiantly update the documentation or at least have some information when you login about this as it's very misleading.

I bought my son a Galaxy A21 and seems to work well for him. There's quite a lot of Samsung Galaxy budget phones: A21/A22/A31/A32/A41/A42.

We sold ours to a company called "Second Chance PC LTD". Can't find a website for them but it looks like they're still active.

Got an email this morning from Adobe saying they now introduced a new Storage Overview page in the adobe admin console. Straight away after this email we had another one saying we have reached our storage limit. When I login, it looks like each users get 2GB of storage and we have a few users over that limit. In the email it said that we have 1TB of pooled storage but I can't see how to apply or change any storage settings. Did anyone else get this email (we just renewed our adobe licensing so it might be something to do with that)?

Are you running a login script? I had issues in the past when running a login script that copied the exam write pad files to the local machine. The first user that logs in and "downloads" the files becomes the owner of them so if another exam user logs in they can't make any changes. I now allocate a specific login per machine so this isn't an issue for me now.

Did you copy all the files over or just the exe? If any files are missing then it will have issues running.

Awesome, half term so will test it out today. Was running slightly older version but was risky with the auto-backup not always working. The mp3 player is useful. Is it possible for it to fit within the UI or move the page over when you open the mp3 player? This might be due to the small laptop screens but the mp3 player box covers up part of the page. Kind of like how the Extra Time page works?

+1 for GAM / GAM3. It does so much more than google classroom too just in case you need to do other google related jobs.

Yep, this is the correct version for 21H2. I've just fixed my issue by importing the enablement package downloaded from microsoft to the wim file: Dism /Add-Package /Image:"C:\W10Mounted" /PackagePath="E:\Downloads\windows10.0-kb5003791-x64_6c4ec017d710917b394a39f925a0149668db4e83.msu" /LogPath="W10Slipstream.log The versioning is now showing the correct number. Just need to test it images okay now.

Just found this. Will dig deeper. might have to add the enablement package the file: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/version-and-build-number-are-reported-incorrectly-after-you-build-a-new-windows-image-file-0141c14e-b3b6-e4ab-88bb-6e3ba0d96b14

This is what I'd expect but the ISO I'm downloading from Microsoft is showing 19041. I'm mounting the iso and running "dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:F:\sources\install.wim /index:1" The version I'm getting is: 10.0.19041 The ISO I'm downloaded is titled: Windows 10, version 21H2 (updated May 2022) 64-bit English. ISO file is called: SW_DVD9_Win_Pro_10_21H2.6_64BIT_English_Pro_Ent_EDU_N_MLF_X23-13803.ISO

I usually download the latest Cumulative Update from Microsoft and add it into my WIM file using DISM so imaging is a bit faster and doesn't need to install lots of updates. I've noticed the latest version of Windows 10 (21H2)from Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Centre is reporting its version as 19041 which is Windows 20H1 when adding it to MDT or using Dism get-wiminfo. This means when I go to import the Cumulative Update for 21H2 to the Wim file it doesn't work as the version is not correct. I guess this is intended but was wondering the reason behind it. Is it because the versions released after 20H1 are minor versions and just require small updates to upgrade? Can I use the Cumulative Update for 20H1 in my wim file?

If it's a PDF then you will need a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat. PDFs are not really meant to be editable but is possible using the correct software unless. Maybe it's a multiple choice exam and they are meant to be able to use drop down menus or something that Pearson have added in?

One of our students uses Word Processing and requires their paper to read to them. We use ReadWrite Gold for the screen reading and ExamWritePad for the word processing. Both are ran off the same laptop that has two screens attached.
