We're looking into moving away from IMLS now. Was wondering if anyone had any teething issues whilst migrating from one system to another? Anything to look out for or ask about? We're going to ask Libresoft, AccessIt and Reading Cloud for demos. As I see it, Reading Cloud is another version of IMLS?

We've just joined the Tech Scheme this year so we can get tech stuff on a salary sacrifice scheme. We're using Salamander also to create Google Classrooms. It can run daily to keep classes up-to-date but we find staff may want to edit their classes slightly so run it at the beginning of the year and then leave it.

We had been running the software via a network location but kept getting random crashes. We now have a login script to copy the software to a local folder and then run it locally. Works all the time now.

Something else I found out today when setting up a new user. Email settings are set in a template that everyone uses so you would expect the email settings to stay the same for anyone using that template. Nope, each user that needs to email the reports will need to open the template and configure the template's SMTP settings. The only way to open the template to edit it is to give the user full admin permissions. This gives them access to the designer. Once they've got access they can add the SMTP settings and it'll work. You can then remove their admin access. Sage have confirmed this is how it works and agrees it's a bit odd and have suggested putting in a change request. Hope this helps others.

We've found HDMI can be a bit intermittent and requires a reset by unplugging and plugging it back in. Okay, I was ill on Friday so didn't get chance to see finance and sort out their Statement emailing. I've been over this afternoon and finally got it to work after a couple of hours. First thing is to open the template/report in the designer. At the top select: Report > Email Settings. You should see this: Make sure at the bottom you have selected "Send email immediately" and change the Mail Provider to "Internet Mail (SMTP). Click OK to save these settings. Next click: Tools > Options > Email Setup. Change the default provider to "Internet Mail (SMTP)". Also, tick the box "When MAPI is specified...." In the available providers, select Internet Mail (SMTP) and then click configure. From the list of Options select "Custom" at the bottom. I found the built-in Gmail option didn't work. Enter a Display Name, Email address, username (account email address) and the password for the account. If you have 2 step verification on you will need to generate an app specific password from your google account. If you don't have 2 step turned on you will need to allow less secure apps to access the google account. SMTP server: smtp-relay.gmail.com Port: 587 Select Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection.

This is exactly what we use. We also have reports setup to email the safe guarding leads of each site about google search terms and specific web accessing categories.

Anyone using Sage 200 found a way of installing it silently via command line?

We've just moved to Sage200c which is the education version of Sage. Can't say much about it as it's early days plus I don't get to use the product.

We've trialed a few products but none ever seem to be that great. I think it comes down to how locked down the iPad. Developers can only do what apple allow them to do. Most products make you use their own app/browser which does the filtering. We use our firewall for monitoring browsing and emailing reports. If you need classroom management with iPad it might worth setting up Apple Classroom.

Just spoke to finance and I can't see them until Friday. I got the remittances working a few weeks ago but never finished getting the statements working. I don't have a login to Sage so can't take a look myself. I do remember that one of the issues was port 587 wasn't allowed on our firewall so had to add that.

We've just moved to Sage200c. I had the same issue but you can change it. Took me a while to figure it out but we got it working in the end. I'll have to go over to finance and take a look because I can't remember exactly what I did. There is a mail preferences area when you open up a template. You can then set the smtp settings here to gmail. There is then another option somewhere to default the sending of remittances to smtp. This might help: How to email reports

In the config file there are 2 options: 1 Value of 1 turns it on. Then there is a print option: 1 Value of 1 turns it on.

Sorted. One of my Task Sequences had lost all it's information and become corrupt. Deleting this task sequence has resolved the issue.

ADK now on latest version but still get this error. It's odd as if I click next, and then click back I can see my Task Sequences and it seems to work.

Will give this a go. Did think it was weird that my WIN PE was on a higher version than the ADK.

Yes and Yes. I've installed the Window PE add-on. MDT: 6.3.8450.1000 ADK: 10.1.17134.1 PE add on : 10.1.17763.1 I'm pretty sure these are the latest versions.

Just updated the ADK on our MDT server but now when I PXE boot a machine I get an error: No Task Sequences are available (TaskSequence.xml does not exist, is empty or is inaccessible). If I click next, and then click back I can see my Task Sequences listed but they don't work. I've tried updating deployment share, re-installing the adk and MDT, re-created the WIN PE boot image and re-uploaded it to WDS. Not sure what else to try. Tried my Google fu but to no luck.

We've been using ASM for a couple of years now and just started shared iPad this year. We've had some issues but we've managed to get it working quite well. I've noticed the error logs are sometimes generated without any information. This is usually because there are extra columns in the CSV file or missing data. The CSV files have to be exactly right to work which can be a bit of pain due to so much data being needed. I think the worst thing about Apple is the UK support. Takes 30 mins just to get through to Enterprise support.

Can't be of much help but we've got a load of these for our iPads and they're possibly the worst units we've ever purchased. They're out of warranty for us now but we had fans come loose and USB ports stop working randomly. We'll never buy kensington units again. This year we swapped most of them for lapcabbys.
