  1. I haven't tested the reg key yet but I have found the messages that say the app has been reset back to default doesn't actually reset it back to default. Might be worth double checking if this is the same for you.
  2. We just moved everything across ourselves. Drag and drop and hope for the best. Google doesn't provide any tools for mass upload and sometimes things might error but most of the time it was okay. We're now using spanning and it's really good. You can easily restore work by imitating a specific user and viewing their drive contents from several months back. We've used it a few times now to restore work.
  3. No worries. I'll have to figure something out.
  4. It's just an alternative to colour printing. Our SENCO needs evidence of extra time in mock exams so we need a way to identify what work has been done in extra time. Instead of using colour print outs, we could use bold or italic.
  5. Just getting round to doing some more testing. I can't seem to get this to work: I think the issue might be that our colour printers are set to print in black and white by default and there are no options for print preferences in EWP to change it to colour. As an alternative, is it possible to set font to bold and/or italic instead of a colour?
  6. I thought my issue was resolved by choosing the correct version of the WIM but I'm still getting it.
  7. Hmm maybe, not looked into it too much. Don't have one to hand to check either.
  8. We have 2 bitlocker GPOs. One for teaching machines and one for Admin machines. Admin machines can only use encrypted devices. Teaching machines can only use devices we allow on the allowed list under: Computer Config > Polices > Administrative Templates > System/Device Installation/Device Installation Restrictions > Allow Installation of devices that match any of these device IDs. Add the Microbit Device IDs to this list to allow them. Get the device ID from Device Manager.
  9. Think I've sorted it by coming across another issue. I noticed our new MDT task sequence with the new WIM file wasn't bitlockering our machines automatically. I could go in an initiate bitlocker manually. I looked at the logs and it said bitlocker is only supported on Enterprise and Server. This made me think I was using the wrong version of Windows. This came down to extracting the WIM file from the ISO using "dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:F:\sources\install.wim". This will list all the flavours of Windows 10 in the install.wim file. For example: Index : 1 Name : Windows 10 Education Description : Windows 10 Education Size : 14,780,927,379 bytes Index : 2 Name : Windows 10 Education N Description : Windows 10 Education N Size : 13,958,508,090 bytes Index : 3 Name : Windows 10 Enterprise Description : Windows 10 Enterprise Size : 14,781,260,269 bytes Index : 4 Name : Windows 10 Enterprise N Description : Windows 10 Enterprise N Size : 13,958,401,617 bytes Index : 5 Name : Windows 10 Pro Description : Windows 10 Pro Size : 14,782,419,696 bytes Index : 6 Name : Windows 10 Pro N Description : Windows 10 Pro N Size : 13,975,944,782 bytes Index : 7 Name : Windows 10 Pro Education Description : Windows 10 Pro Education Size : 14,780,857,141 bytes Index : 8 Name : Windows 10 Pro Education N Description : Windows 10 Pro Education N Size : 13,958,436,952 bytes Index : 9 Name : Windows 10 Pro for Workstations Description : Windows 10 Pro for Workstations Size : 14,780,892,026 bytes Index : 10 Name : Windows 10 Pro N for Workstations Description : Windows 10 Pro N for Workstations Size : 13,958,472,287 bytes Out of all these versions the best one sounded like "Windows 10 Pro Education" as the only other option was "Windows 10 Eduacation" - "pro" being the difference. Windows 10 Pro doesn't support bitlocker via mdt and I guess it doesn't support certain GPOs like default applications. I found out that the one called "Windows 10 Education" is actually the enterprise version of Windows 10 Education. I'm now using this WIM and it works fine.
  10. Yea, I created a new one for the new version of Windows.
  11. To bring an old thread back to life. We're having to install this on some machines. I've got it to silently install but when installing via MDT there is a message at the end of the installation saying it was successful. The MDT task sequence won't continue until "OK" is selected on this message box. Any way round this. It seems the silent command isn't completely silent.
  12. Currently testing Windows 10 1903/1909 and coming across an issue the first time a user logs into a machine. When they log in, they get several messages saying: An app caused a problem with your default "X" setting, so it was reset to "Y". This message appears several times depending on the file type and program that has been reset. I've created an associations xml file which is applied via MDT and gpo which seems to be working. Even though, this message appears, it seems the apps don't get reset. Done quite a bit of googling and seems to be quite common but can't find a solution. We don't get this message on 1703.

    Room booking

We use https://www.roombookingsystem.co.uk/ I don't really use it myself so can't quote on how it works and how much it costs but might be worth looking into.
  14. We're just about to start experimenting with Google Meets. Will be purchasing some of the google meets hardware also for specific rooms.
  15. Yep, we have these. This is why we have a 2 Group policy settings for USB devices. One for teaching machines and one for Admin machines. For teaching machines, we only allow certain USBs devices based on their ID.
  16. I think most of the monitoring issues is because Apples Framework doesn't allow developers to create these sort of apps. The best thing we can up with was using our firewall to generate safe guarding reports. It will pick up any keywords from the main search engines and email the relevant people. We have a proxy pac file setup so students are also forced to login to the schools firewall when outside of the school network so they still get filtering (bit less restrictive though).
  17. I don't have a guide but must be able to find something on the internet. It's just a simple GPO change: Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Device Isntallation > Device Installation Restrictions > Allow installation of devices that match any of these device IDs. You can create a list of Device IDs that you would like to allow. To get the device ID: https://support.shippingeasy.com/hc/en-us/articles/203086919-How-to-Find-the-Vendor-ID-VID-and-Product-ID-PID-for-my-USB-scale-Applet-Integration-
  18. We only allow USB devices which we've approved via group policy. By default they won't work until we add them to GPO. All USB media devices will need encrypting with bitlocker to work. We initially wanted to block all USB devices but found there are certain subjects that use USB devices for certain things like coding and engineering.
  19. Should work pretty instantly. Maybe try signing out and back in? If you're moving to G Suite, I'd second what PrimaryNetMan has said and look into using GAM.
  20. We've been using the free version of Trueconf for a couple years. Works quite well. We're now looking into getting a proper Google Meets setup.
  21. That's great. This software helps so much for our exams. We ask students to change font colour when they're in extra time during their mocks. This needs to be visible by our SENCO so we rely on the print out to show the extra time changes. Also, is it possible to add multiple exam centre names just like the exam centre numbers. Or maybe link an exam centre number to a name so they're auto automatically filled in?
  22. Just setting up the new version. Been sticking to an older version for a while as it's working well for us. We now want to use the new version. In the config editor (using GUI), it doesn't allow me to enter 2 centre numbers. The description says you can use semi colons to add multiple centre numbers but it doesn't seem to be working. Edit: It seems adding the Centre Numbers into the config file works, but the gui doesn't allow you to use semi colons. We'll need to be able to add multiple exam centre names with the multiple exam centre numbers. Another edit: Is there a way to not force the print out to be in the "PrintFontColour"? Can you turn it off so it will print how it is typed? The character/accent map screen says to press f9 to launch windows character map but f9 seems to insert a page break (might just be my keyboard?). Is there a way to have more control over the extra time clock? I just think that if there is an issue during an exam, you might need to stop the extra time clock or add on more time?
  23. We have Fortinet create reports that are sent to the relevent staff.
  24. Can't comment on hardware but for internal calls we use the free version of Truconf.
  25. We installed bootcamp on our macs using winclone to create a bootimage to boot into MDT and imaged the MACS like they're windows machines.
