Hi all, In September I am going to be doing Inset Staff Training for all staff. I want to include a section on basic security such as spam emails or suspicious and other basic security that staff need to know. What should I include in this section? Thanks,

You can set the profile as mandatory. Or password protected so no one can remove without the password.

We have just fully rolled out Office 365 for emails, SharePoint etc. So far found it really useful in one document shared instead of many copies of the same documents all over the system. I would recommend for you to look at Teacher Dashboard which is free for upto 100 teachers, which allows for a submission/homework collection and assignment system which is great for sharing files between teachers and students.

We just received one of these today as done exactly the same as you with the different plug. Been used all day and so far no problems

Hi all, I am looking for a way to have one master script instead of having many many scripts. Basically what is needed is that there is a certain command that has a different user ID for each user in Active Directory. Is it possible to have a script such as: IF username is 'username' run this command then end, and repeated many times for different user accounts within one script file? Thanks,

You do not need ADFS for the Identity+ to work, the user will just have to authenticate with their O365 account. We are only using DirSync and there is a local client to install on each machine which does the mapping side and you currently give them your mapping paths, drive letters etc. (panel coming soon). Been using for a few weeks now and no issues - Rolled out to all staff so far.

Apparently with iOS 9 they doing something where there won't be Apple ID if it supervised and registered to education, and deploy to the device not the Apple ID. It just rumours currently.

We are giving the option to use both local and OneDrive and their responsibility on where they store their files (set up a quota.on local profiles), we looked at that if the internet dies and invested in a backup 20mb line for £400ish a year.

Trial went very well and just bought into it and so far proving good. Shared areas will be on share point on the sites etc. we are using the up to 1TB free but won't use it all and get an extra 500mb per user we sync and licence.

Yeah, we were told about that. Should save alot of time with the ID's.

Hi, recently came across: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202967 It says it is only available in the USA, but other people are saying they have it in the UK etc. Anyone know where I can register for this as clicking via Apple's Enroll now on that page does not take me to the Apple ID For Students? or anyone know when it would be coming out in the UK? Thanks,

It depends how the system etc is setup/works, every school is different in how their IT is setup and runs.
-
I think it does, best from what I found is create a "shared" user account and use shared folders via that account so if someone leaves there no worry about the data.

From what I understood from MS is you get 1TB and then an additional 500mb per active user on top of the 1tb

What powershell commands did you use to stop users from changing/removing the photos? -
I would check your retention policy settings. There are setting in there that if emails are older than X do this, so that might be moving them automatic...

Found out all I need is a script to add the Local Service account with full permissions to C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\ and then to restart the Sophos Anti-Virus service.# EDIT: managed to find ICACLS "FOLDER PATH" /grant "USER":F It adds the user to the permissions but the F for full control does not seem to apply correctly.

Hi, Thank you. Getting the error "UNC paths are not supported. Defaulting to Windows directory." when trying to run. I changed the server path, username and password.

Hello, Anyone know how to script this so that it will be automatic? Need to do on over 150+ computers so would save alot of man hours. Thanks.

Also for sharing their coursework between students and other work don't want. A feature where we can say who can share such as teachers to student would be good. -
I currently use this software and would recommend. I made a master install package with other packages nested within it for new computers that have been re-imaged to a clean windows. Works very well.

We have almost the same setup with you with the File Storage, SQL Backups and System States. Had ours like this for about 3 years now without any issues. Recently added another backup midday at lunch time as found out students done work in morning, then overwrote/deleted and we could not get back.

I've just set this up. Using a sharepoint site and then having a document library in there just on the page and then you can link directly to the document library and assign permissions to the page and document library. (But uses your SharePoint Quota.) - Should be over 600GB available to you.
