Hello, We are about to deploy Office 2016 out to all machines. Everything works fine apart from the Auto Activation against Microsoft's servers. The key is valid and it activates once the user clicks connect against internet. The settings I have are: http://i.imgur.com/kpGKQQQ.png which other people said worked for them. I also have http://i.imgur.com/VXkyGYQ.png these configured (The AUTOACTIVATE I added as seen someone else do this). I have tried both versions of Auto Activate with a 0 and 1, but no joy. Anyone else come across this and know how to solve? Thanks

I have tried that, but it is not bringing the sub licence name within the Education for Students licence.

Hi, Trying to disable Office 365 Planner Preview Licence, but cannot find it's SKU. Does anyone know the SKU for Office 365 Planner Preview? It is located under Office 365 Education for Students & Staff (as shown in picture), don't want any of the other licence settings changed, just this sub licence. Thanks

Not that I am aware. I have put it forward to them as a feature request, but haven't had any response in a few weeks.

This was released a few weeks ago. The major parts of the version I've been told about is to fix a SSO problem with the Mapper failing to authenticate sometimes.

Thanks both for your input. Will have a look at them.

Hi all, We are currently looking at replacing our very old core switch which is a HP Procurve 4204gl (J4887A) which has one gigabit module and two fibre modules. Can anyone recommend what switch we should look at for replacing our current one?, we would prefer to stay with HP for our switches. Thanks

I have tried other settings now and still happening. Configuration in WDS is below, and works by the correct name and putting in the correct OU: In the unattended file there I took out , but in AD there is another computer account being created which is called "WIN-3G5HI3CM220", but no idea where this one is coming from. It was happening before I took out the computername section in the unattended file. The computers name once installed is "WIN-3G5HI3CM220", and it seems like this is taking priority over the WDS system. Anyone seen this before?

Ok, thanks for your help.

Hi, From the help that part of WDS it shows %MAC is valid and it does create a computer account with the computers MAC and puts in the correct OU, but the problem is this other name which seems to be renaming the computer again and creating another account but no idea where this is coming from. I re-applied it to the WDS console.

Hi, I have put the * in, but still getting same issue.

Hi, I have made our installation of Windows finally automatic with unattended files, but currently having a small issue with the naming of the computers. I have it set in WDS server properties to "%MAC", as cannot leave this field blank which is fine. In the unattended file there is no mention of the section, but yet when the image has installed successfully there are two accounts in AD, one is the computers MAC and the other is being generated from somewhere else... In the pending devices in WDS, i just select approve and not name and approve so have no idea where this other computer account name is coming from. I checked the computers name once it re-imaged is the other one and not the computers mac name which it should be. Anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thanks

So.. I am currently looking at rolling out Windows 10 this summer. What version should I go with? education or enterprise
-
For us it seems to be random on emails, users, browsers and computers.
-
We been having the same issue, but with word documents as well opening email attachments and if keep trying to open eventually it will open. Only started for us in the last 3 weeks, even on Chrome, firefox etc. and even sometimes at home.
-
We had same issue and for us it seemed to be the "Automatically Detect Proxy Settings" in Internet options even though we don't have any proxy configured etc, once took the tick out it was instantly faster for us.

Same here, we slowly decreasing the amount they are allowed to store on their local area over time to force them to use their OneDrive and so far seems to be working from September. Over the summer we moved their Department shared drives to Sharepoint and forced them to use it which actually was taken "ok" without a lot of moaning as they liked it when we said "you can access at home and from the iPad now" I have started IT department sessions for the different departments where we go to them and do a department at a time which they seem to like and easier for us to manage them all

Hi all, Our users have just noticed that recently when they forward an email, it has an extra s at the end: All our users are on the English (UK) setting. Seems like they are having spelling issues

Hi all, I am currently looking at getting more control of our wifi network as currently it is just one big flat network with the wireless attached. We have the Aruba Instant wireless network with three SSID's (Staff, Students & Guest) and all of our switches are HP which are new (less than 2 years) old. I know we can assign a vlan id to each SSID in Aruba. Currently looking at having three new scopes setup in our DHCP server which will serve these three wifi ssid's, so we have management of what ranges go to what SSID (for filtering purposes). I have found this post online, which seems identical to what we are currently looking for: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12023411/how-do-i-make-windows-dhcp-work-vlans This is the information I had from a company who installed the wireless in the first place, but could not do the vlans then and are now charging about £1000 for it to be completed. Configuration of Core Switch for VLAN Routing. Configuration of Edge Switches for New Wireless VLAN. Configuration of all Uplinks to carry the New Wireless VLAN Configuration of Cisco ASA for New Wireless VLAN. Assistance with DHCP Scope. One of my concerns is that we want to keep the current DHCP scope as it is for the computers etc. On the network and the new scopes just for the wireless. Another concern is that we have iPads in the school now and Air Server installed on almost all the computers with a projector, if we done the VLAN's, would the iPads still be able to communicate with Air Server on the computers which probably stay on VLAN 1? Hope anyone can make sense of this and I can explain more if needed. Many Thanks for your help

My printer setup in GPO is to delete all printers and then create them each time. Helps to enforce the correct printers and the changes etc. and works well.

We had an issue with OneDrive on the trolley iPads when the students would forget to logout and the next student to use would have full access to all their files etc. which turned out bad. -

We are looking at this as well as teachers are having to airdrop from the trolley iPads to their own then upload onedrive. -
Have a look at IAM Cloud, we use it for Office 365 for Sharepoint and Onedrive mapping, but I'm pretty sure it works with Google as well.
