What does ownership have to do with it? As I understand it, the SAR covers specific types of information held by the org. The fact the org owns the data/documents be a reason for potential inclusion? If there's a business/DP/GDPR requirement you can redact non-relevant parts of documents.

We looked into 1:1 laptops for classroom staff as the peripatetic teachers kept complaining about login times (and as we need to replace all the teaching PCs next anyway, it made for an easy solution. And could have saved on the number of machines as a lot of staff have a classroom, an office and access to a work room). Would definitely have gone with docks in the classrooms for single cable connection to the board, network, charging, mouse/keyboard connection's. We'd probably have left the 24" screens in place connected to the docks as well. But when we put it to the staff they overwhelmingly voted against it. The main reasons I remember where, additional pressure to work from home, the weight of carrying it around all the time, and they could think of better things to spend the money on.

As I understand it, a Subject Access Request would cover any documents containing personal information for the subject of the request held/owned by the school. Users OneDrive docs could certainly fall under the scope of a SAR, but documents would only need to be disclosed if they contained PII for the subject. Your DPO would be best placed to answer these questions.

Not quite "in use", but we found a Sony AVC 3200 (video camera) during the summer cleanout, and it still works.

Despite multiple suggestions we use the we wound up just using the the default/built in "15_Xylophone aigu" for lesson changeover. During lockdown/bubbling we had different lesson change times for each year group, so the sounder became a "Year X. Time to move on on, Year X". We've got the RFIDeas Wave readers in a lot of places (they seem to be Sharp's preferred solution), and they do the the "type" the number and enter interface without any fuss, and seem to last forever (we've got some that are 15+ years old). But they are rather expensive.

I thought you needed a license to watch any iPlayer (that's what the popups keep telling me), and I remember some talk about needing one for some Prime, Netflix and Youtube. I was under the impression making sure your arial was unplugged was enough "proof" if anyone actually came to challenge it.

Really? Maybe at full price, but it's only 5-6 years payback with the early-bird pricing assuming the yearly price doesn't go up at some point over the next 6 years. Given we've been using this software since 2016/17 it's not an unreasonable sell.

Gradually over the holidays/inset/strike days since the start of the year we've had a complete clear-out/organization of all our storage spaces. For standard ICE power and VGA and HDMI we keep one 33L Really useful box of each. (With non-standard like the M/F cables or Y splitters separate). Most everything else gets a 9L really useful box, apart from network where we have different lengths and colours across a few boxes.

Our support partner has been deploying Intel NUCs for the "last on site services" as part of their could moves. It seems to be working out okay for them, and should be cheaper than running a full-sized server and AC. I guess you'd buy 2 mini "servers" so if something goes down you can fail over/restore to the other one.

Based on what the creators have said in interviews, the season 2 post credits scene is supposed really far into the future. I'd guess it would have looped in to the ultimate ending planned for season 5. Or maybe it's the same William from the S3 ending/post credits scene.

No telegraph poles around here. For us, they could blow the fiber down the same conduit as the old copper line. But I've had a couple of friends upgrade and their conduit had been built over or somehow disturbed so the new fiber couldn't be run through.

If you're trying to keep bugs out, maybe look into net curtains or I've seen some pretty neat magnetic bug screens on amazon. As I keep my windows open a lot at night anyway (especially in summer) I keep an old pringles can handy for capture-release (through the bathroom window on the other side of the house).

If it's specifically identifiable emails (always from the same email or with the same subject), then you could use mailflow rules to set the spam confidence to 0.

I've been intermittently active (more so last autumn/winter), the deepslate castley and farm house stuff just (I think south) of spawn is mine. There's 3 or 4 other bases around and about (see the rough map below - sorry for my horrible handwriting) but I've never seen other people online at the same time as me.

I've managed to find a 96 pack before!
