In theory. Last year we got an Aruba person to demo their airwatch stuff for us, and we've previously got to sit down with the likes of Fortigate and Dell to see their offerings. And there is the connect@bett where you can book a meeting time with someone or something (never bothered with it, it's just as easy to wander up to the stand, have a chat and nick all their freebies). Although to be fair, you could just ask for recommendations on here and contact companies direct for "a chat" about your requirements without having fight through the DLR.

Wasn't Henry Cavell teasing a Mass Effect script a year or so back? Of course, if you're doing something like a TV show/Film adaptation, the simplest solution is to do a non-Sheppard story, if they must "adapt" something, then there's all the comics and books, or just pick a cool part of the lore go ham. The Skyllian Blitz in the style of Enemy at the Gates would be really cool.

I agree. MEA has great gameplay, and the story was pretty good, if not quite what we were originally sold (I was hoping for more "first human/Milky Way person to see this" type exploration than we got). I think the "problem" is to do anything post ME3 you probably have to cannonise on the of the endings. Not that there isn't plenty of scope to do stuff set before the OG trilogy. It will be interesting to see how the new game tackles that, I'm kind of hoping they can pull something like Deus Ex Invisible War, where they keep you guessing with different things hinting toward different endings.

The only awkward bit, is making sure the student knows when they're username is changing and what the new one will be (as we can't email or teams message them to tell them), and that's just getting them to come by the office we can make sure they can still log in.

Last couple of years we've had more forename changes than surname changes.

Player rather than a DM, but we've been doing some of the Saltmarsh campaigns. They're not long, individually, but tie together quite well and have been good fun (we totally didn't set a kraken on fire that one time).

we do [cohort intake year][first initial][surname] so 23jsmith. There's rumblings about changing it to use cohort leaving year as this is used more often elsewhere in the school. In the time I've been here we've only had one full-on duplicate name (as in 2 J Smiths in the same year), but we normally have 1-2 name is too long for a username students per cohort.

We've got RD (with HTML5 and app proxy and all that good stuff) at the moment, but are looking to depreciate it in favor of everything they need being in the cloud, before we moved away from SIMS we were looking at just having SIMS as a published app (rather than just having the full desktop experience for everyone) to better fit in with the 365 model we were pushing. Recently, I was out with some friends (we're all techies/gamers so messing around on a computer is something we do as a hobby). We're talking about WFH and they said that being able to close the remote desktop/vpn connection at the end of the day, really helps with the delineation between being "at work" on the computer and not. I bring this up, because it made me slightly re-evaluate the choice to push everyone into "cloud all the things" and perhaps there's a valid reason why people use RD to access SharePoint and webmail.

Does that still work when the accounts are deleted/unlicensed?

Hi, I've been asked to retrieve from backup, all emails between two former members of staff within a set time period. We use Barracuda cloud2cloud backup on our Office 365 tenancy. I can use the filtering to set the recipient, sender and date period, but I can't do a search without a search term. Does anyone know if Barracuda search supports wildcards? Or if there's another way to do this?

it's free... Thinking about it, I'm probably talking about the Office online you mentioned. Which seems pretty feature complete (at least based on what I used it for outside of work), just kinda' anemic on the storage side.

If you're happy to use browser apps, but would rather stick with the MS/Office UI, then the Office 365 free version is fine (although I think Google has more storage on the free tier)

They're grey-market sites. They'll be OEM, or some other technically not for resail type keys. I've used similar before and not had any problems.

Earth (browser version) and Maps have the same photos for our area, which look late 2020/early 2021, however the actual map on google maps still shows our Pre 2014 building layout. Randomly, Bing maps puts a road through our site that's never existed.

Back when we did this, we had to install Papercut Secondary Server onto the PCs that had locally attached printers. Watched the first episode of Interview with a Vampire on BBC2/iPlayer. It's very stylish and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. Also (sticking with the spooky) Uncanny. As a fan of the original podcasts, I'm enjoying the TV adaptation.

Oh, the media/twitter seemed to make out that the CMA was the last holdout. Even the article in the OP suggests that now the CMA is out the way MS can close the deal. I guess people got pre-conditioned back in the day when consoles had such different hardware making something cross-platform was like building a whole new game. Also, it's a single game there's nothing to stop SE from teaming up with MS for their next title. If Sony/MS full on buys the studio (which they both seem to be doing right now) then it's likely all future games made by that studio would be exclusive.

It's a big step along the road toward just one or two massive conglomerates owning everything. Although the big/scary one would be if either MS or Sony managed to buy Valve.

If you're already using M365 then just set the work as teams assignments. You can schedule future assignments under "edit assignment timeline".

I really like the kindle paperwhite (as I mostly read just before bed, the nightlight function is really useful, but it does take a couple of weeks of the battery life). Really, I think it depends on where you're planning to get your e-books. If you use amazon, then a kindle of some stripe is the obvious choice.
