I agree with this. Although, I'd put something like the TES6 announcement trailer in the same category. It's pretty much just animated concept art and a title card.

I wouldn't mind a splash screen or something where you can choose to start a new file or open an old one before the candidate details screen. As we have candidate details and user must save enabled, if someone is opening the program to reopen an old file (or backup) it's a lot of faffing.

The question is, which will come first, Cyberpunk or Elder Scrolls VI?

"You will hang me" One night four men came to play, no-one lost and no-one won, but each left with more than they came. What did they play?

Sounds like the PC isn't posting right (or at all). Maybe try resetting the CMOS. We used to have a bunch of computers that would do that a lot, and unplugging the power cable for a couple of minutes (or the amount of time it takes to carry it back to the office) seemed to get it to boot.

It's been a while since I did anything with Meraki, but as I remember the MDM doesn't install any 'software' (unless you tell it to), but in most cases software will need to be installed to facilitate enrollment. For iPads/phones/pods : If you're not using DEP or configurator to connect the device to meraki, then you/ your user will need to install the management app so they can enroll the device. For Windows PCs/laptops/ect : The msi applet needs to be installed for it to connect to the MDM. Android : Similar to apple, you need the management app installed to be able to enroll. You might not need the app to enrol tablets (I can't remember) but it's far an away the easiest way. I hope this helps.

My suggestion of "Here be Dragons" was nixed in favour of "Staff Shared Area" here.

We use mostly SoftCat and BT Business Direct these days. https://www.softcat.com/ https://www.businessdirect.bt.com/

Yeah, we tried that before and it was rather problematic. The newer "Roaming Profile" settings seem much more reliable. (so far anyway) https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7349337?hl=en
-
Is that using the profile roaming settings or, just redirecting the chrome profile to a share?
-
All the varables you can use are listed here: https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3/user-data-directory-variables It looks like ${documents} would do what you want.
-
We're testing the Chrome Roaming stuff here. So far it seems to work fine. Just need to check it doesn't get too big before we push it out to all the staff.

Sony: Skull & Bones Death Stranding (and it will be weird) Days Gone (maybe) Spider Man (maybe) Horizon 2 (would be really cool but probably not) MS: Sea of Thieves (it's still a thing, honest) Crackdown (might still be coming) Strange Brigade Tomb Raider (maybe or maybe on it's own) Other: Fallout76 Rage 2 Read Dead 2 Cyberpunk Life is Strange 2 (Why else release Vampyre now if not because Dotnod are bringing something else to e3) I've read it's being made for the PS4.

Best of luck for your new job, sounds interesting.

So am I right in assuming that the scheduled task isn't being created on the target machine? Or it is being created but not running? If it's not being created try using the "Update" or "Create" action rather than "Replace". If it's just not running check the event logs for errors. (In fact do this anyway, it might point you in the right direction).

In the "action" options/settings, make sure you have "sart in" set. This has caught me out before.

Wouldn't you also need some sort of documented proof that staff have read/agreed to the updated policies?
-
While you might be covered legally, you do lack an audit trail of the training staff have received which could create loopholes. Especially if you're applying this retroactively (As in, they sign their contract before reading the polices or before the polices were even published).

Sure you can. It's a school computer so you can stop them doing anything that might compromise the security of the network/data (or am I misunderstanding your point.) We're planning to use Sophos to block USB storage devices. We'll then be providing (probably) hardware encrypted sticks for staff who "really, really need them". Only the school bought, encrypted memory sticks (and school card readers) will work on any school computer. If the staff need the data from their memory sticks then we've got plenty of routs for them to get to it.

But where do I send my subject access requests?

We use Decrapifier to remove cortana and the other junk from Windows 10. It turns the cortana button into a dumb program and file/folder search.

Same as everyone else, signed paper copy and a click through AUP screen before login that I'm sure everyone reads (sarcasm)

We used the 3M privacy filters and they always worked fine and lasted well (only got rid of them when we moved to wide screen monitors). Looking on Amazon, they aren't hugely expensive either.

GDPR and sending media off to exam boards
Rob_D replied to Gorbyhail's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
There's a pretty lengthy discussion of this here. The last few of pages have a few links to exam bodies requirements/guidance. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/data-protection-information-handling/193477-gdpr-exam-bodies.html
