You want Services>Authentication>Directories and then expand your domain directory and "add a new group mapping" with the local group as the one you just created and the directory group as whatever AD group you want to map it to.

Can you build it without any third-party drivers? If that works okay then you could leave it at that, or start adding in the drivers in the vendor/updated drivers until it stops working.

Visio here too. Not sure how you would mark runs between floors. Maybe have a number/letter for each riser so you can line up the different floors.

It's probably to do with making the different skews line up. Because you can (or could at some point) get E2 and E4 Enterprise licenses.

Does the reseller mean to say that if you wanted to give someone access to (for example) Sway, Bookings and Power BI Pro, they'd need all three licenses? That's tosh. I've not looked at it, much myself. But from what I've seen and heard, it's been designed to mostly accommodate the primary school style of fixed menus with very few options that are prebooked by the parents, and not a more caffe style system where a student can buy what they want, from a drink and snack up to the full hot meal. And AFAIK there isn't any POS software as it's predicted on the parents prebooking meals on MCAS. Within those parameters it seems pretty flexible, you can have a different menu for different days with optional sides and deserts and have stack up future menus. You might be able to make it work for you, but I know our SBM and catering manager looked at it and decided it wasn't suitable for us because of the menu limitations.

I'd call Smoothwall, their engineers are going to know the products the best (AFAIK they don't do third party installer/engineer partnerships), and if the school is in contract there's a chance they'd do this at no additional charge.

Bromcom have a "school dinners" module, but it only works with a fixed menu (a-la primary school dinners). We were told that a more featured, canteen style system was on the roadmap somewhere behind AI implementation and improving the cover module.

True. It was complaints about how long it takes to log into a new computer each time from the peripatetic staff that prompted us to look into laptops. That and Windows seems increasingly less designed for hotdesking.

Sounds like what we had a couple of years back, if it's the same problem then you need to give the camera app permission to access the camera (and mic) under app permissions. You can do this using Group Policy under Computer Configuration> Policies> Admin Templates> Windows Components> App Privacy

Yes. If they want an ad-hock team for a club or trip, it's way easier to let teachers do it themselves. We do have naming polices all staff need to follow though. Although we'd still need the naming polices even if we didn't allow teams creation as I think they could still rename their pre-genned teams.

We used to use Winsent Messenger (which worked okay), but now use Bodet for lockdown/emergency messages as well as lesson change (and the DH playing music at the end of term).

Our S9 isn't quite by any stretch, but no louder than other servers in the rack.

Doing a clean install of the latest version of afterburner fixed the problem and it hasn't come back again (touch wood).
