Most of RM runs under the "XYZ abcdefghik" accounts - your 3 letter site code then 10 random lowercase letters. One is the "RM Service Host" account, the rest are "RM Share Controller User" accounts. I tried disabling them all for cyber/privileged account reasons - and broke stuff! First/Second Line Support all assure me that they must all be enabled and you can't change the password (without paying for a half day re-install of several components). That said, I would expect those user details you've mentioned to be changed by the username that you've logged into RMMC with?

To be honest I use the vlookup() a lot for this. But I spend time making sure all spreadsheets i'm working on can key off the UPN (or sometimes App-Ref for admissions) for repeatability when (re-)downloading the same data. When parents fill in their application form to year 7, there's a blank "Office use only" box that my admin team know they have to populate as soon as they can when forms are submitted, even if they're not processing the form data for another week/month. That way, I can key off that field when eg emailing parents about which form group they've been put in (which I did on Friday afternoon).

He's just eaten an apple") is sent down/up the line during service.

We're upgrading from v7 to v9 of NRS/Civica this summer. They've not told us v7 is out of support (or are you potentially on earlier?) - it was my proactive choice to upgrade on the back of Cyber Essentials where all software should be at latest supported versions blah blah blah. Are both trays configured the same - A4, portrait, plain paper? And/or, have you enabled (not sure the name in Epson) - auto rotate, so if there's an available A4, landscape, plain paper drawer it can use it?

I'm going to throw this out there, as I had very similar situation with a PC in a community hall I manage last week. Try disabling IPv6 in the properties of the network connection (start > run > ncpa.cpl) The PC was working fine until I was about to setup remote access to it (I was onsite at the time, but it is headless in normal operation) when I lost all internet access. I've no idea what was going on but after several hours of playing, disabling IPv6 was one of two changes I made that brought it back; the other I think was coincidental. Peter

The HP was my Veeam backup server and repo until 18 months ago. Just spoke to a supplier who suggested replacing the RAID controller to a current model that compatible with the board - I'd not thought of that so I'm working on that this afternoon.

Fair comment. I'm going round in circles at the moment because our daily backup is taking up to 48 hours and nobody can tell me why! However i've realised the new Synology NAS I was recommended by consultants last year is neither recommended nor supported by Veeam. Whilst my old Veeam backup repo (HP DL380e Gen8 with 60TB storage) is sat empty as the RAID driver isn't supported on 2016/2019 and I decided I shouldn't have my backups running on a non-supported RAID driver.

What is the warranty situation on refurb kit? We're looking at a server for Veeam storage at the moment and I like the idea of filling a refurb with SSDs versus a new box without.

Taking it to the next stage, grab a laptop and stick the same IP in, then plug it into the same cable the Net2 is on, then fire up Wireshark to see where ICMP ping traffic is coming from.

If it has its own PSU, unplug the data for 4 minutes and see if it still beeps. If it doesn't, then it's (almost very definitely) a ping/scan from some software somewhere.
