Ditto One the training videos (NCSC I think?) our staff had to watch points out that hackers start with the lowest level credentials then find their way around, elevating as they go. 2FA is our best defence against students who can't set themselves sensible secure passwords.

I've just knocked up a report for "Leavers" with LeavingDate>July, Gender=Male (to speed it up) and the sub-report definition to show Behaviours>January, and it's running ok.

I know you don't want "as big as Impero" - but I would say BatchPatch is more akin to what you are looking for; a management console for "doing stuff" rather than a whole UI product for doing all that Impero does. Not sure the specific answer to your question. In AD > Home folder, we have N: set to \\server\share\myname$ Does that strictly count as folder redirection, which to my mind is a GPO setting to redirect folders, rather than a home location for Documents folder?

Hi. We have had CC deployed for two or three years but really struggling with it this term. Art are using three IT suites primarily; Photoshop 2022 (updated to latest version last weekend) on: 1) Intel i3-4130 @ 3.4Ghz with 4Gb RAM purchased 2013 - ironically these are working better than the newer PCs 2) Intel i3-10100 @ 3.6Ghz with 8Gb RAM purchased summer 2021 3) Ryzon 3 4350G CPUs with 8Gb RAM purchased summer 2022 Crashing/freezing regularly throughout the lesson, particularly with the selection tools (object select, magic wand, ...) . My technician did a test after school which may not be overly conclusive - but he ran a speedtest.net in the background and each time, Photoshop was fine whilst doing the 'download' portion of the test, but crashed during the 'upload' portion of the test. Has anyone else had any problems, or have any insight into these symptoms? Peter

We have NAS for disk backup, Tape Library (~80 slots) for off-LAN and archive, but just tendering for Veeam Cloud for off-site backup. We got the library about 8 years ago when our old autoloader (~12 slots) died but tape was still reasonably in fashion; we still swear by it.

If you've only just taken over today, why the sudden need to update by Tuesday? Yes they need updating but you need to get a good idea of your existing network before you go and reimage every machine then realise the important finance software was on that machine in the PE office that you just flattened.

I'm asking them to suggest what I do, with their knowledge and experience based on xTB of raw data, xTB of compressed 'full' (de-duped synthetic) data and xGB of nightly increments. Then i'll decide, and re-tender to all three with a fixed tender.

We have it, but I think it came with our purchase of Microsoft 365 A3 licenses (faculty and student versions).

We went through this about 3 months ago. 1) I opted against the system refresh, just opting for the renewal. (And wasn't told about the QuickScan units) 2) Our printer packed up a month later, and the main touchscreen/PC started crashing at nightly reboot. 3) So we bought the system-refresh retrospectively. 4) That's when I found out about the QuickScans, so I subsequently ordered them as they sounded much better units. 5) I had to pay for the call-out to do the install, which if I'd known about when I ordered the refresh I'd have done in one visit 6) The mifare scanner is now on the side of the QuickScan, so it takes 2-3 attempts to slap your card at it when walking past 7) I had to chase the £150 rebate - it finally arrived yesterday.

This. Our local ADFS server sent ID as sAMAccountName, so that’s what our users are on RBS. I spoke to RBS this afternoon and they’ve ‘solved’ the problem by mass-updating our user IDs to emails, which has worked, but that doesn’t help me long term as I add other apps to Azure and try and learn how to change the nameID being sent. (I was in the area on your screenshot, editing the default nameID rather than any of the data attributes, but nothing seemed to update) Peter

With all the moves to MFA i'm presuming many of you will be ahead of me in this game and wondering if you can help. We've just synced to Azure and i'm starting to setup the SAML applications for staff to auth against. We use SchoolCloud Room Booking System which our ADFS sends sAMAccountName (J.Bloggs) but when following their Azure guide, Azure is sending userprincipalname aka the email address ([email protected]) so it's creating new users in the room bookings. Does anyone know how to change Azure to send sAMAccountName? I've tried editing the NameID to send user.onpremisesamaccountname but it doesn't seem to be making any difference - am I in the right area?

Agree with MrEprise. We have 70-odd digital phones (5402) on three expansion modules, plus 17 IP phones with licenses. Once I upgrade the software from v9 to v11 this October I'll be adding more IP phones - we have them in stock, just not enough licenses!

Everyone's getting a heat pump, if they were experienced with AC/heat pumps they'd know that AC is a heat pump. I consider myself sensible and I am considering (though haven't researched yet) replacing our conservatory AC and adding something like mini-split elsewhere, but I don't have a clue about heat pumps, either in AC or in the world of EV's where having one/not having one is a bone of contention amongst some owners. Do enlighten us...
